  • i hate this song but sick car

  • It put down in the low 400rwhp/ and 380 rwtq

  • how much hp it putting out

  • damn your 18 and your parents let you have that car your so lucky ahaha i can'r have a v8 unless i pay for the whole thing myself and have straight A's :P

  • fyi,for the future,a atv or motorcycle jack works great for an engine swap or drop out in the f-bodys

  • Damn great stuff man, How did you lift the car that high? What heads and cam did you use? Im 19 and i wanna do a top end package on my 99 ws6 but Im trying to figure everything out before I do it. Thanks

  • looks like fun i cant wait to put in a low mile lq4 in my z28

  • @kiba22222 I actually sold the higher mileage motor for more than I bought the newer motor for, so it worked out better in the end.

  • it would have been cheaper to just get a rebuild kit for the motor along with the head cam package

  • why did you have to swap the engine? was it dying? because i could get a pretty good deal on a 98 with 152xxx miles on it. do you think its worth considering? apparently the car is in excellent condition, but ill have to make sure of that myself

  • thats nice man!

  • Is the LS1/LS6 an easy engine to work on? I screwed up my 2002 Z06 last night. (guessing a dropped valve) I have built engines before, but only Ford/Lincoln flathead V8s and V12s. It seems like the LSx platform would be easy, but I haven't done anything more than regular maintenance work on it so far.

  • dude you know your stuff. legit.

  • i have a 98 ls1 z28 im not sure if i should go with 4.10's or 3.73's and what cam is best i want an aggressive cam . auto tranny.

  • belt fell out? 2:14

  • @dozza101 yea, When I swapped over the accessories I guess I damaged the tensioner and I didn't know about it because it would only fall off at anything up 6K rpm. It scared the crap out of me the first time it happened on the dyno.

  • Sweet Video dude.

  • heads cam packages really turn these motors into beasts, its amazing the difference from stock to head cam car.

  • man fuck that cast iron shit!

  • so far the car went 11.85@117. My highest mph so far has been 119.5. My best 60' to date is 1.697 and pulled the wheels about 4 inches off the ground. Right now I have to replace the oil pan gasket because it's leaking and take the rear apart because the trutrac is making noise on turns. camaro400- I wouldn't know how the trutrac is in the rain because the car doesn't see the rain.

  • @brib333 no, 60' as in how long it takes to go 60 ft at the track. If you've ever raced at a track you'd know.

  • @NJNETSFAN

Oh, no ive never raced at a track. I thought 0-60.

  • @NJNETSFAN

Hey may be you might be able to give me some advice. Im buying a 2001 Camaro SS with 23,000 miles on it. What would be the first thing you would do to get some more ponys out of it? Im thinking LS6 heads with a cam and LS6 intake? Am I warm?

  • @brib333 Ls6 heads are a great budget head which is why I used it for my build. 01's come with an LS6 intake stock. If it's an automatic, a tune will really wake the car up. If it's a 6 speed, get long tubes and a lid first. Just get bolt-ons first and slowly work up to the cam.

  • @NJNETS

its a 6-speed. Cool. Thanks for the info.

Did you buy the LS6 heads new or used? And how much did it cost you to buy the heads and cam.

  • @brib333 I bought the heads used. There are two different variations of the heads. GM 243 heads from a corvette have sodium filled valves which is questionable whether they are better or not. Between the head/cam package, it cost me about $1500 for everything plus the cost to reflash the pcm with a new tune

  • @NJNETSFAN

WOW. How much do you think labor would have cost on this job? Cause I dont have the tools nor the space nor the know how. You guys did an awesome job.

  • @brib333

Just one more question. Why did you have to drop the whole front end? The cam installation?

  • @brib333 I put a whole new low mileage motor in the car and it was just easier to drop the motor out of the bottom than to pull it out the top. It really wasn't all that hard.

  • I will have the same mods, but i have the lt headers UD pulley and 3:73 in the rear hoping for the same rwhp or a bit more. I am subscribing to see your time.

  • I'm also assuming you did get a tune since you did dyno your car right?

  • NIce car looks identical to mine. My mods are different, but as far as appearance you wouldn't be able to tell our cars apart lol

  • Nice video, how do you like the trutrac, is it tail happy through turns in the rain? I have one sitting in my room but it's for the stock 10 bolt since my stock diff wore out but debating on putting it in.

  • what did you do with the old ls1

  • sold it to someone who planned on doing a motor swap into an s10.

  • @NJNETSFAN dam! i got a 3800 camaro and im trying to make it a ls1 hehehe

  • nice build. I have an 02 stock. thinking about a heads and cam with an engine rebuild. right now researching labor cost. Do you get any problems with it?

  • It drives pretty much stock. On cold start up the cam lopes for about 20 seconds and then idles at ~900. Very little cam surge and drives like stock. Track times coming on sudnay.

  • yea, i put a new tensioner on it after the dyno. It's all fixed now and hitting Atco on Sunday.

  • congrats man shes a beast did you fix the belt i saw it come out 2 times
