Well... Let me take a stab at it.... They mever really been that close to him hitting anything at full force before. I know the watched him train and all before but that was always controlled. I am sure the 1st shot shook the floor so that is why Mrs. Balboa came down. The rest of their "concern" I think was a reaction to what is clearly Rocky psychological issues on full display...

If you watch the alternate Rocky 5 fight. Rocky shakes Tommy's hand at the end and he acepts it. Pretty cool and it is posted on here. The theatrical fight is better but the ending to the alternate fight was pretty good and yes Tommy no doubt was brainwashed by Duke who was pissed he could not get Rocky to fight for him to make big money because of Rocky6's health issues. I like 5 and is is a grat moive just different. Street fight is awesome. Sux Rocky was broke still but had his family.

I would agree 100% with that. Tommy Gunn vs Ivan Drago is no contest at all. 1st round knockout. 2nd at the very most if Tommy gets lucky. Drago would decimate Gunn in an instant.
Pretty much. at the beginning of the movie, it is said that Cane is a paper champion. In Rocky IV, Rocky surrenders the title to go fight in Russia. The title becomes vacant and George Washington Duke gains power as a boxing promoter and as a result, with some bribes and such perhaps maybe, he puts Cane as a champion.
@AeonXero Rocky does not surrender the title. He retires in 5 as the champion because of health issues after Cane challenges him and then Cane "joke champion" is crowned. Rocky is still champion fighting Drago in Russia but it is a "non sanctioned" non'title fight.
Cane was an all around joke. He would have been just like those 10 guys Rocky KO'd between Apollo and Clubber.
Tommy no doubt became Rocky lite, but i highly doubt his ability to take punches would have been able to last against Creed and Drago. And even then Rocky developed a jab in Rocky 3

Ivan Drago would wipe the floor with Tommy Gunn! He has a longer reach and is physically stronger.

I would agree 100% with that. Tommy Gunn vs Ivan Drago is no contest at all. 1st round knockout. 2nd at the very most if Tommy gets lucky. Drago would decimate Gunn in an instant.

Pretty much. at the beginning of the movie, it is said that Cane is a paper champion. In Rocky IV, Rocky surrenders the title to go fight in Russia. The title becomes vacant and George Washington Duke gains power as a boxing promoter and as a result, with some bribes and such perhaps maybe, he puts Cane as a champion.

@AeonXero Rocky does not surrender the title. He retires in 5 as the champion because of health issues after Cane challenges him and then Cane "joke champion" is crowned. Rocky is still champion fighting Drago in Russia but it is a "non sanctioned" non'title fight.

Cane was an all around joke. He would have been just like those 10 guys Rocky KO'd between Apollo and Clubber.
Tommy no doubt became Rocky lite, but i highly doubt his ability to take punches would have been able to last against Creed and Drago. And even then Rocky developed a jab in Rocky 3

Tommy never had a true opponent. union cane as you see was a paper champion. if you put him in the ring wit a true killer like clubber its over.......he lost to rock in a non sanction street fight.. he was 22-0 true. but he beat the p'pl that rocky and apollo used to trash on the regular. Tommy has wat i call "Untested Talent". he good untill you put him against a real seasoned vet. still a good fighter non the less

GREAT scene. Sly completely becomes Rocky in these movies. Such a great re-telling of the whole Tyson story too. FUCK Don King and how he fucked up the young champ.

Every main fighter of Rocky has a certain theme.
1.Apollo Creed - Cocky tough fighter,pretty hard to beat.
2.Clubber Lang - Aggressive and cocky,pretty hard to beat,but Rocky didnt get much of a beating from him.
3.Ivan Drago - Strong and tough in all areas.This is the hardest beating Rocky got in the series.
4.Tommy Gunn - Tough and quick,but seeing him in a street brawl,he was just aggressive,and fairly easy for Rocky to handle.
The semi fighter Union Cane was a paper champion as called.
