I think he's privileged, and he brings out his emotions while playing, I don't think he's arrogant, he's confident enough to make people fall in love with classical music again. So glad he's a young man that is passionate about arts, and those who criticize should recognize that it's very difficult to play violin and the way he does.. all of my respects
6:39 fail champagne and clapping don't go well together , also 5:30 check behind the people near the plant ( guy with flashing pin up to his shirt) :D
serious point: charlie could benefit enormously from visiting council estates in the uk, proper sink estates, arriving unannounced, and playing in the echo chamber of a stairwell. his approach, emotionally it seems, is too top down.
that said, i'm looking forward to seeing him on monday at cadogan hall tho!
may i offer a dissenting voice? it's great to see a british star in the making, no doubt, but for now, from this video at least, he doesn't appear to have analysed the bach properly, if at all. or to have given it the textural range it requires. i've always thought that musicianship requires a certain amount of suffering, to form the well of character, & i wonder if his good looks have been an impediment here. (though fair enough, that's a shonky sort of crowd.)
22 isn't that young to be making a professional debut. he's handsome and fun to watch, but he plays as someone would speak in monotone, except his is f - fff. i mean, it's Bach! does he play anything other than Paganini and Bach? definitely would like to hear more before i'd buy a CD. i don't hear the emotion here, only the technique.
He is brilliant and a hunk.

lovely music and very talented but he sounds like a typical privileged kid, very boastful, arrogant and comes across almost slimey!

@tomdangerlloyd, Eh, he's 25 years old it goes with the territory. But I actually find him to be pretty likeable. I've heard much worse.
