I love Shaq's game and personality, but I don't think that he accomplished all that he could have. He won 4 championships, 3 Finals MVP's, a regular season MVP, 3 All-Star MVPs, countless All-NBA team selections. With those types of accomplishments, it's hard to judge, but I'm old enough to remember Shaq at his best. He was UNSTOPPABLE. There was no one like him. Four is NOTHING to sneeze at, but looking back, it's hard to believe that he doesn't have more championships.

Wilt had more hops than Shaq, which would give him an extreme advantage towards blocking the Diesel's shot. So, unless O'Neal is able to get Wilt to bite on his pump fakes, there is no way Shaq would be able to score on him.

Defensively, Wilt was a better athlete than Shaq. Chamberlin ran track and field in high school where he high jumped 6 feet, 6 inches, ran the 440 yards in 49.0 seconds and the 880 yards in 1:58.3, put the shot 53 feet, 4 inches, and broad jumped 22 feet. Wilt had more hops than Shaq, which would give him an extreme advantage towards blocking the Diesel's shot. So, unless O'Neal is able to get Wilt to bite on his pump fakes, there is no way Shaq would be able to score on him.

Wilt has a higher basketball IQ than Shaq and since he was a better passer (only non-guard to ever lead the league in assist), it also meant he understood the game a little better. This is another advantage when it comes to scoring.

I believe that Shaq would wear out throughout the game from having to utilize so much energy, trying to keep up with Wilt and that would eventually, be the game clinching factor.
So in conclusion: My vote goes out to Wilt.

If Shaq had Bill Russell's mentality, he would just play defence... Shaq was great at both ends, he never played poorly in the finals and was a force to be reckoned with in the league for quite some time, he won because of the way he was... Bill Russell's team was STACKED with HOF's, and there were less teams back then which allowed him to do what he did, I'm not saying he wasn't great but Shaq just needed to hit more free throws and not leave the league during his prime...
