  • He is always outside arnotts on Henry st I always stop and talk to him and give him a few pounds lovely guy :)

  • i seen him outside croker after the all ireland final

  • Does anyone know where this guy usually is? I'd love to send him something to say 'thanks' for being so amazing.

  • I just hate it when the people just gather around making it hard for the rescuers to move about. One time my dog chased a sheep into the river boyne, the only people who helped were a young couple, me and my business teacher (she just happened to be there and who is sound). Everyone else just gathered around, not trying to get my dog or trying to pull the sheep back in. But at the end the sheep swam acrossed the river into the cow field and was brought back by the farmer.

  • What kind of sick fuck grabs a rabbit out of someones hand and throws it over a bridge? like really? this is why i hate people. whoever did that can go fuck themselves up the ass.

  • if you hunt for sport no effence but thats horrible to me i dont want to judge but as an animal lover i think its crule and im on the animal side i think animals should live as well as humans im saying this and im yonger than you think. GIVE ANIMALS A CHANCE!

  • @bamster987

"If you hunt for sport, no offense?" What the hell are you so apologetic for?! Hunters, especially ones who hunt for "sport" are murderers and suffer from inferiority complex about their masculinity.

  • @sugarmelonchewgumbon ikr and i dont hunt but killing animals 4 sport is just so crule but killing 4 food is useful animals eat ppl but the dont kill us 4 sport

  • People who derive joy from hunting down and murdering other living things have some serious psychological issues and need to be mentally assessed.

  • @explodinghead1

    Yup. Very well-said.

  • haha i shoot about 800x more rabbits than hes saved ;)

  • @HarveyTheHunter Uhm. Good for you bro. At first I thought you were just a horrible human being but then I looked at your profile and realised you're a country bumpkin. Not your fault, it's the way you've been brought up I suppose.

It's a good thing that you stay out there in the wilderness I guess, well away from the civilised humans.

  • @nfied wasent brought up like it its the path i chose and tbh u know wat i enjoy life in the contryside its a nice day out its good and heathy keeps you fit. just cause i live in the contry work in the contry dosent mean i dont have a life out in the town!! im always at partys and going out to see all my freinds.

realy dont understand people like you. i have a nice life u cant tell me no diffrent

  • @HarveyTheHunter Whatever man, I don't really care. I mostly said it out of irritation at your comment, I don't really mind how other people live. Although when you're boasting about the fact that you've killed rabbits, it makes you look like a retarded hillbilly.

  • @nfied well i dont see y he saved it just saying ive killed alot of rabbits. cause i have get over it. im not a hillbilly wtf? seriously if i every meet one of you people i will most likely beat you to shit

  • OMG

  • I used to score Heroin off this guy in Phibsboro! He's a nice guy, only used to sell to fund his own habit. He's not an evil prick like some dealers who sell but don't take it themselves...FUCK THEM.

  • MAN RESCUES PAT RABBITTE FROM RIVER LIFFEY SHOCK

  • God bless this selfless man for his act of bravery.

  • This man is an amazing person with a truly amazing character, loving, caring and unbelievably brave. I hope his life turns around for him after this act of courage. He deserves to be offered a job working with animals as he would obviously be excellent at it. I hope that someone in a position to help him does. With a heart and bravery like his he would be an asset to any business. I usually ignore homeless people when in Dublin as there are so many now. I will never do so in future

  • this is beautiful

  • That's so sweet for him to care for his animals like that<3 If only everyone were like that.

  • Omg.i saw him an hour before that happened.

  • Cute bunny, glad he managed to save it, rabbits aren't swimmers. Hope he does well and hope the dumbfuck who threw his animal off the bridge tries it with someone who throws him off the bridge instead next time.

  • you can hear the typical fucking dublin scumbags in the back-round........ saw this guy the other day and i went to the pet-shop to get some treats for the animals, he was gone though when i got back............... wish him and his pets the best of luck

  • Good news! Some nice guy offered Mr. Byrne and his pets a job and accomodation at a pet farm in Co. Cork. Happy ending for everybody! :D

  • @SuperJimmyT Sure what else do you expect from Cork people :)

  • @Entrophy1983 Not a whole pile boss.

  • @Lynnch1 Aye, tis a pity with the population Dublin have.... couldn't take care of him ?

  • @Entrophy1983 True......there like a buch of cats them dubs are....all about themselves.

  • @Lynnch1

Would you ever give over, you havn't a clue what you're talking about. One big sweeping generalisation after another, sign of a muppet

  • From RTÉ News today: A homeless man is due to be honoured today for rescuing his rabbit from the River Liffey in Dublin.

A homeless man is to be honoured today for rescuing his pet rabbit from the River Liffey in Dublin.

An 18-year-old man has been charged with a public order offence, as well as animal cruelty, in relation to the incident.

Mr Byrne will given an award for his actions by the Animal Rights Action Network this afternoon.

  • People slagging this man are SMALL minded Fu+$ with no life at all you's have no idea why he is homeless or how hard his life has been!!!! If those 2 pets are his life at the moment well leave him be!!! I'd jump in after something I loved

  • Well done DFB

  • what a hero.

  • i hope the little bastard who threw the rabbit in gets what he deserves.

  • seen him in town on o'connell bridge yesterday hes a lovely fella his rabbits only 6wks old, fair play to him lovely ltl jack russell aswell ah you can see he really looks after them both

  • Saw this guy in town tday and gave him a but if money

  • I always see this homeless guy begging on street with his rabbit and dog on his lap. I will donate if i find him in the city for sure!

  • The homeless man in the video has now been offered a job taking care of animals.

In another bizarre incident involving animals it has emerged a woman in Limerick died after having sex with an Alsatian dog. Is there no end to Ireland's love affair with animals.

  • Go John!

  • Not a hero a idiot. He is not fit to own a rabbit that's why it got down it first place

  • @kannywhat Hey ass hole, get your facts right before you run your mouth. This poor man was sitting on the street minding his own business when some rotten kid thought it would be funny to grab the rabbit out of his hands and throw it over the bridge. It's ignorant douche bags like you that would probably find that funny. He is a hero, more then you'll ever be.

  • @sK8rOcKeR94 ya cant even take care of himself never mind a rabbit would you give your dog to yhis chap NO exactly

  • @kannywhat What? He clearly can take care of himself if he's willing to jump off a bridge in freezing cold water to save his beloved pet from drowning. This man is down on his luck and his pets are all he has, and your saying he shouldn't have him. And would i give MY dog to him. No, i wouldn't. You want to know why? Because it's MY dog. Key word there. I don't go giving my pets to people who i feel would take good care of them. Your point is idiotic. Go be a ignorant dumb ass somewhere else.

  • Comment removed

  • @sK8rOcKeR94 ya i see your point but come on he not unfit to take care of an animal...like he great man and he been down and have a unfortunate life but doesnt mean he cant have a living thing that deserve a living home..here listen bash all you want but my mum has lots of animals and growing up with them i think that they shouldnt be on the streets if the rabbit wasint then he wudin be in thiss mess...he should fix himself and then think about animals or so

  • @kannywhat NO ONE deserves to have a pet, something they love, nearly killed. No animal deserves to be hurt like this. It doesn't matter that he's homeless, he still loves the rabbit and he's still a human being with a beating heart and blood running through his veins. He has the same emotions as you and I. He's caught in a bad circumstance, yes, but that does NOT say anything about the content of his character.

  • @OliveYou1114 i kno hes human im just saying he not fit for an animal thats bad on that rabbit.

  • @kannywhat How is he not fit for an animal when he cares enough for his own rabbit to actually jump into the river and save it? So you're saying that it was his fault some asshole decided to grab his rabbit and throw it into a river? If anything, the person who threw the rabbit into a river is inhumane and should be fined for animal cruelty.

  • @hiPrettyMaryK shut up he clearly look like he cant take care himself he a junkie and would you give him a child or dog no!!

  • @kannywhat And yet everything you've said still doesn't answer any of my questions. Not surprising.

  • @hiPrettyMaryK oh sorry i dont think someone arsehole threw the rabbit down there i think he did it being dumb i felt bad and got it

  • @hiPrettyMaryK were are you from because you telling me this man is fit for an animal please common sense lady...its a living thing not a toy

  • RESPECT!!

and fuck the one who threw the rabbit into the river, hope he ends up in the prison and has his arse torn apart again and again in the prison

  • a hero!!!!!!

  • Fare play for the man hero

  • whoever threw that rabit in was a heartless feker fair play to ur man for jumpin in poor thing

  • i think the rabbit is a drug courier..he is stuffed with yer mans supply of E's.

thats why he was so keen to get him back...either that or they are simply lovers..

  • how did the rabbit end up in the liffey ? who walks around town with a rabbit in the first place .

  • @DaleneB I think some little knackers threw it in on him, you know the usual wastes of space who have nothing better to do other than make themselves feel better about their useless lives by upsetting others. Also I've seen him around, he's homeless and he just has the rabbit as a pet, not a bad guy, just down and out.

  • @DaleneB a little scumbag grabbed the rabbit and threw him in.

  • funny if the rabbit died after....well it wouldn't be funny but.....

  • @scruffylittledog grow up loser.

  • @ShamrocksGetYouHigh I will rape you with a pink vibrating dildo over the internet.

  • im not sure if this is the same guy but theres a good chance it is, ive seen a guy lying around dublin city a few times with a dog & rabbit on his lap

  • @TheHiddenAnswer yep same guy

  • stop calling em a knacker! fair play 2 em

  • I often see this man, sitting homeless, off O'Connell street sitting with the rabbit and a small dog. Obviously these animals are the only things he has... and it's amazing to see that he would get into a filthy river to save his companion.

  • 0:10

  • 0;10 need yar fix

  • all i can hear is (di ye need yar fix)lol fuckin junkies

  • How the hell did a rabbit get into the Liffey??!

  • @ljpop95 some fella trough it out of his car when he was driving over the brige

  • @IModSomeTimes Only a knacker would do that.

  • @ljpop95 The man who saved his rabbit is homeless. I see him a lot begging for money, sitting down by Claire's near the Thunder Road Cafe in Temple Bar. He must have been sitting on O'Connell bridge, where I once seen him, and the rabbit took off.

  • @nicolevins what happend is he had some argument with someone and that mindless person threw the defenceless rabbit into the river

  • hahah ya can her the junkies in the background

  • Im from ireland and listening to the accents on some people is so funny :L

  • @sommerfitz ya the dub accent's fair funny

  • @cian110 im from limerick and oh man they get worse :L

  • @sommerfitz im from limerick too but deres notin worse den a high pitched dub accent

  • gobshite probably dropped the rabbit in himself in the first place

  • @mrmicksnip no some scumbag walked passed him grabbed the rabbit abused him then threw it in the river he's been arrested and charged :D

  • @mrmicksnip highly doubt it, considering his dog and his rabbit are his only two real friends.

  • The rabbit was called Baxter I believe!!

  • @dartubber your funny refering to a film

  • I'd only jump in for something that would jump in for me.

  • @thebeast2033 id jump in for a 500 euro note

  • @thebeast2033 his best friend?

  • @nicolevins I'd only jump in for something that would jump in for me.

  • @thebeast2033 what about 1 month old baby?

  • @kachekieran Are you serious. You think of a Rabbit that much? Think about it for a while. Human or Rabbit hmmm

  • @thebeast2033 not really my point is that a baby wudnt jump in for u

  • No money wasted. The lads in Dublin Fire Brigade are paid anyway, whether out on call or not. I suspect they will enjoy dining out on this story for a while. Can't say whether or not anyone enjoyed dining out on the rabbit though...

  • @PlugTurtle no i think he means it is a waste to bring out 2 fire engines and all the other stuff

  • Can rabbits swim?

  • This is the tye of thing money is wasted on in this country.

  • @sirtheory1 Your soo scab like wtf did the rabbit do too yhoo?

  • this is the trailer for cliffhanger 2 right?

  • Little do most of you know, that rabbit was infact his dinner later on that evening. Nothing special about this video. If the rabbit died in the river, he'd have ended up buying a snackbox at Supermacs up the road.

  • it looks a like a hare to me.

  • People saying he endangered other people and wasted emergency services time need to shut the fuck up, his pet was drowning so he saved it, get over it.

  • awh thats so cute

  • if my dog fell into the liffey id be straight in head first !!

  • "MAN RESCUES DINNER FROM RIVER LIFFEY"

  • ah amazing fair play to him,he had a jack russell waiting for him at the steps too

  • @facup88 fanny head. that is an insult with no comeback fair play

  • @facup88 how am i a stalker if their is two parts of this event and i watched them both ? you mindless stupid short minded freak ! and by the way my name is not fergus ... you stupid cunt of course im going to see both your comments . and i wouldnt mind they are word for word man ..

  • @facup88 Wtf are you saying? Some fucking idiots threw his rabbit in, and he saved the rabbit? What did the owner do wrong?

  • @greenday2themax He's a dirty junkie in the liffey holding onto a Fucking Rabbit. What don't you get about the whole situation you dumb prick. You need me to draw you a picture you Retard. ??

  • @facup88 You don't need to insult many mentally handicapped people on this earth just to prove your god dam point.

  • @greenday2themax Seriously your a Knob end. And Greenday are Shit. Now piss off downstairs and give your Mammy back her Acer Laptop. Ye Puff !

  • @facup88 Hey, I own my own fucking laptop. Problem?

  • @Devilock79 Obviously you give a fuck ya Spastic. Otherwise you wouldn't of sent me a reply ya GIMP. Now continue wanking into your sock you LOSER

  • i find this video very pleasing to masturbate to.

  • @abusername1000 That was funnier the firste ten million times I read it.

  • they shagged the rabbit to within an inch of its life after this video was filmed

  • clearly a disturbed person, in part one of this vid he can be seen under the bridge trying to jump back into the water with his rabbit as it looked like he did not want to leave the river by any other means than the steps by the camera man. Bit of a nut job alright.

  • @sweetmunster His dog was at the steps. Cop on.

  • what the fuck was he doin with the rabbit out in the streets anyway. dope

  • @yourdate4tonight haha my thougths exactly

  • All the fuckin gawkers

  • did he died??

  • @abusername1000 no !

  • @chris111crisis you are a tool, what would you have done watch your pet die?

  • Such a waste of the emergency services time and tax payers money.

  • @chris111crisis shove all that tax payer's money up your ass, you buzz killer....

  • aghh i saw a man with a rabbit in his hand today..must've been him!

  • Idiot. Put his life - and the lives of many others- in danger. NEVER enter the water unless you are fully trained and competent in rescue.

  • fair play to him. absolute legend. anyone would do this for their own pet. I would

  • @smythy111 The Liffey Rabbit is now receiving counselling from Pete the Penguin. Pete himself was kidnapped from Dublin Zoo last year and found wandering around Rutland St. Since then he has become a counsellor and an advocate for the rights of abused non-human Dubs. It's a little know fact that there are no homeless facilities for non-human Dubs and they don't qualify for any social welfare payments. This has to change.

  • This is a story of human of human endeavour and one man's dedication to his faithful companion. Risking life and limb the man braves the murky snotty waters of the Liffey to rescue his fluffy best friend. Undeterred by lurking sea gulls and the unknown dwellers of the slime, he pulls his friend to the relative safety of a ledge. Shivering and isolated they try to stay alive and hope for a rescue mission.

The bond between man and rabbit is one that goes back many centuries in time...

  • @FEXRO lol

  • @FEXRO its the story of a knacker catching hisdinner

  • @Leprechaunsquad Hahaha, I pissed myself reading that comment.

  • Unbeknown to the authorities, the rabbit had an ounce of gear put in it’s stomach.

  • @iEffluo if you are so sure, why dont you call ISPCA about that..?!?

  • @VedicBarbie

    Because I was joking...

    IDIOT

Why don't you ring Joe Duffy? Oh wait you do :/

Bet you don't even have tallons... Pfffff

  • @iEffluo wow, man, you are very funny -.- this thing is really sumthin` we have to laugh at!!!!
