  • LONG LIVE THE 60S YEAH!!

  • brilliant

but i still see del boy and co singing it in nelson mandella house

    both classics

  • modern-day x factor ha ha ha can not beat the oldies

  • Where'd Tom McGuinness get that guitar from? Is it an official Fender colour?

  • I always thought they we're singing "But when Quinn the Eskimo gets here,

All the bitches gonna run to him." but he sings "pigeons"

... i feel stupid! of course they wouldnt sing something like that xD

  • @RockyRaccoonsFriend Mike D'Abo probably did initially sing "bitches", but in order to have their record played on the radio, they would have had to compromise and change the word to "pigeons"

  • @Poopingbotham Feeding bitches under the limb? I don't think so. Who makes up this crap?

  • @Amhlair In this instance, none other than Bob Dylan!

  • @RockyRaccoonsFriend not just you that thought that dont worry

  • Classic, one of the best groups ever. Go see the Manfreds if you get the chance, you won't be disappointed

  • Love this song...good old times

  • It was very common in the 60s to either lip synch or to record a "live version" to which they could fake play along with. Another common practice was to use recorded music but live vocals. Sounds here like the record is playing and they have vocals live on top of it.

  • And this was just a cover

  • I just got a serious contact high watching these trippin dudes!

  • Class !!!!

  • people used to play instruments, really, seriously!

  • 7.30 thursday night never missed and jems like this will never die......

  • 5 bob eh, those were the days! Pre-decimilsation.

  • Unmistakable this sound...Great as only them!

  • I always wondered, on older shows that featured a musical guest, what was the point of having them on if they were just going to lip sync? (Besides promoting whatever they were coming out with.)

Did it not just broadcast well or what?

  • Sorry; The singer is Mike D'Abbo.!!!

  • @landau31

    Apoligies,you are correct.

  • were they talking about a womens pussy??

  • @bodybuildingbl you'll never know.

  • 5 Bob to do that? I don't even know what 5 bob is! Im 42 btw so only remember decimal currency. Great days!

  • i like the quim

  • Another great song written by the one and only Bob Dylan .

  • "everybody's gona want a dose." the very thing your parents did not want to hear. well, i smoked it.

  • @cshargeit Not certain but they are talking about speed or coke. Prolly speed aka jumpin jack flash.

  • Am I the *only* one here who knows this song is about heroin?

  • @bas1010 Big drugs homie....when Quinn the Eskimo got here.....they got all their drugs....Nobody could get any sleep because they were all froze...,.

  • Yeah, it is Klaus Voormann. Incidentally, this song comes from the basement sessions at Big Pink - Dylan and The Band hanging out.

  • The singer is Mike D'Abo

  • @lndtjm

    Afraid not,its Paul Jones.

  • Ok,I own up.

    It is Mike,

    Apoligies.

  • The lead singer is Mike D'Abo who wrote Build me up Buttercup and Handbags n Gladrags

  • Heyyy..take a look @ 1:05 is'nt he Klaus Voormann?? the almost 5th beatle of Hamburg fame?? a very talented artist, graphic designer, painter and bassist and memeber of John Lennon's Plastic Ono Band?

  • I wasn't even born when this record came out but the music of this era is better than anything today.

    Thanks for this clip!

  • I was nearly a year old when this show was aired in1968. Love "The Mighty Quinn", great song.

  • I totally agree i wasn't born until 1991 but the pop music scene of the 60's puts this era to shame.
