Do you think this would work on a bigger scale? I'm hunting the thousands of magpie geese that surround our place everyday.....free food and I'm watching my dog chase them around for his morning exercise....I want to make about ten to twelve traps and set them daily...hoping for at least one per day...but I've only got a couple of months left before the dry and they migrate....
theres a lot simpeluer way to make the cage just get two sticks put them parralel tie rope from eack sticks end to another the twist one to make a x the just keep puttung sticks under it parralel both wats that simple
@COOKID1000 that's a arapuca, what he's making is a cribbet cage, a cribbet is stronger, but requires more materials then a arapuca, so it's a choice either quick, easy and requires less materials but weaker or stronger with more work, time and materials, your choice.
you can even use this for making a lobster/crab trap if you blocked off the bottom and opened the top or made holes in the sides, seems sturdy enough for that application if you wanted to fish for shellfish in coastal areas.
nice to see, should be fun to know how much rope you use, if you live in the bush can i imagine it can be lots off job to manufacture all that rope, but stil nice to see, thanks,,
i got 2 sticks tied them together at both ends and turned one side around so that the string made a X then i put 2 sticks under the strng horizontaly then did the same but put them vertical an so on
i think he caught nothin with this lame and useless traps -___-

Nice, but it's way too complicated. Unless it's meant to be a more permanent cage is it?

That was a really neat cage

you are right mate, in the bush you,d be better off with a dead fall too much string to make or use
johnjayrambo11111 3 years ago
it does make a very strong cage though

@mhenry14clady i did that to but this way is much better because it is much stronger
dyl011 1 year ago
@mhenry14clady what would be a arapuca bird trap, what rambo made was a cribbet style cage.
