Bure will get his HOF honors, just not first ballot. His career was cut short but he still dominated the whole time he was playing... He will get in eventually.

As for the other guys well I don't know... Messier was a true hockey player, he battled it out, lead the way, and scored a ton of points. Gretzky was a "crybaby" only early on in his career.

Gretzky never had cancer, just like Jordan never became HIV+, don't try to discredit him with Lemieux's misfortune. Without Kurri and Coffey he was still leading the league in points, check out his rookie season. Messier wasn't much at the time.

Gretzky played a load of hockey throughout his career without much rest. He represented Canada in just about every international tournament he could have played in. Lemieux meanwhile sat out for reasons such as a dislike of a coach.

I'm not discrediting Gretsky he's was great I"m just saying I prefer Lemieux. I think he accomplished more than his stats say he did and am frustrated by arguments puttings stats over all when we all know they are 2 different types of players. I think Lemieux would have definitly scored on the Olympic Gold Medal Shotout because thats the kind goal scorer he was. The man was a phenomenal and like with Orr we will never know what his true potential was stats wise.

You can't argue with the ridiculous things that Gretzky accomplished. More assists in his career than anyone else had total points. More goals than anyone on top of that. The only person to ever score 200 points in a season, doing it 4 times. Say what you want about what Lemieux COULD have done if he stayed healthy, he never did what Gretzky did.
