Mccain already has medicare AND Veterans retirement healthcare to suppliment that. Why cant we get healcare too Senator Mccain? Even if we have to pay more in taxes to get there. Then I dont have to worry about being kicked off my insurance when they find out i have cancer because I missed a question on my form that they only found just yesterday after paying them 1,200.00 a month for 27 years:(
So I just got done writing a comment on a video called John McCain Cursing again, and ended it with calling McCain a WAR HERO, and some punk later comments me back saying “McCain a war hero!?” so instead of commenting back I think letting everyone else bombard his inbox with comment will make him understand why he is an American Hero. The person who commented is called themomachiman. your participation will be greatly appreciated.
America's opinions have to be shared!! Would you believe in Barak's latest health care bill?? G0T0 my tube profile to see exactly why Y0UR points of view are important !!
A veteran himself, John "Shitbird" McCain is one of the BIGGEST anti-veteran voters in washington. Every veteran needs to research just how much he gives a fuck about veterans and their families. Every time this bastard gets to vote against veterans benefits and healthcare, he does. He doesn't even care about his fellow veterans, so why would he care about anyone else ? The people of Arizona need to vote this piece of shit out of office already.
check out primal soup on youtube. Type primal soup and check out a tv show that aired in PA for eight years. Crazy, stoned and right on the money, which they had none. Pioneers of underground television.
The pres. doesnt run america he is simply a puppet of the people who put in power with there money and pull the same people who put bush in you see the powerful banks own both partys they are playing us all vot RON PAUL 2012.
the recession was caused by bush/cheneyk hiding the cost of the war and siphoning money from our gov to special interests like haliburton and other cronies. Obama inherited it and then for the first time included the cost of the war in the budget........wow.......honesty....and the right blasted him for spending money.......to pay for the bill they created.
He has lost his support after that " attempt at propaganda" I think even more people do not want this bill now and using the nuclear option? OMG Do they realize they will not always be in power and next time maybe when the right takes back control...Maybe we just nuclear option to private social security. Yep, That's what I hope they do. I heard them already saying it will happen so if you supporters of this bill agree, be ready...payback is a bitch! Do it the right way or this is war.
mccain just today was talking about regulating vitamines like fish oil tablets, mccain isnt opposed to obamacare this was for show mccain and obama are puppets
@Seekthetruth2010; I found the whole so-called 'Summit' intriguing. Senator Alexander presented the case for two-thirds of America, Senator Reid set out to destroy Lamar while making a campaign ad for Nevada, Senator McCain was looking for a fight and got one while making a campaign ad for Arizona, Congressman Paul Ryan was articulate and President Obama got another chance to show he was King, and at the same time, shoot the GOP down whether he had the facts straight or not.
it seems the President still has somtin caught in his throught concerning the republican senator,John! HeHeHe.We luv you Mr.Prez! U Rock Coming from the YOUNG people of the country,Our sector needs to really see what you can throw down inmaking this place called earth a happier place to live. WE give our love unto U Mr. Obama!Hugs and oordinary kisses.Chins up,heads held high!
I am not alone in my assessment of Mr. Obonehead. (He called himself that you know. google it)
Obonehead has done more damage to our economy than Bush and Osama combined. He has dug a hole so deep that we will never be able to get out of it. I doubt you will ever know that since you believe Obonehead is faultless.
I voted for you because I thought you would bring change, Mr. President, but so far you are just making things even worse than your predecessor George W. Bush.
If you continue to ignore the will of the people in pushing pieces of legislation that will drag America MUCH deeper into debt, then it will become increasingly likely that you WILL be a one-term president, joining Jimmy Carter in the land of unfulfilled promises.
He told Mccain and everyone there that the summit was to hopefully come up with IDEA's to replace the "bad policy" the republicans were complaining about.
When he told him that "the election is over" he was refering to Mccains attempts at bashing as opposed to creating.....you cant just complain and bash and call yourself a leader.
Its a good thing Mccain never got elected...he wouldnt have been able to come up w/ any relevant ideas at bettering our country at all.
@EmpathyWorks; Anyone who believes a seven-hour 'Summit' was going to fix anything is seriously naïve. The division between the GOP and DNC are fundamental philosophical differences. President Obama wanted it both ways; he shot-down the GOP's broad statements while injecting his own philosophical views. When he said, "the election is over," it was a left-hook to McCain, seems they both have a temper; only Mr. Obama's resembles a spoiled child that doesn't get their way.
How about you give him a chance? The "american people" have made every attempt to halt whatever plan he sets in motion that he promised he'd do. He was voted for because he made those promises, and now that he's making good on them you have a problem? There is going to be negatives to every plan, not everyone is going to be happy with everything. Suck it up, and deal with it. He's trying to help and has met nothing but resistance from his so called supporters. It's fucking sad.
What is sad is BHO. How can a person get elected POTUS with no management experience history what-so-ever? BHO is immature, irrelevant, inexperienced, and in way over his head. He is the most inexperienced guy in the room...every room he enters and he wants to lecture them all.
6% of Americans believe the stimulus created any jobs. face it BHO has failed. He had one year to get anything accomplished becaues he had super majorities and he looked like he has ADD...can you say no experience?
I can say lack of patience. I can say that he told us it would take time for things to change. I can say that his lack of experience has caused quite a large amount of people to fight against his agenda before he even began it. It's as if the second he began to move in the direction he promised, everyone and their grandmother violently refused to let things change. It's fucking sick.
And this is exactly why nobody can expect to heal the country when in office. Because of fucktards who do everything in their power to keep them from changing things. Just because they don't like the negatives, doesn't mean the fucking positives are non existant. You can take your opinion and shove it up your ass. It's people like you that keep this country from moving forward.
Still with the insults. You seem to be acting like his plan hasn't worked yet. It's still in effect, and he has said that it would take time. A long time. Or you could just ignore what he said completely and deny up and down any glint of hope. BTW, nice job thumbing down all my posts. Jesus, you really are childish.
How can you say government has worked here in the USA when medicare, medicare Part D, and social security have more than $100 TRILLION in UNFUNDED COMMITMENTS??!! The federal government is borrowing 40% of the money it is spending. In the past 18 months the fed has increased the adjusted monetary base 125% and that is according to the Saint Louis Fed Reserve Website!!!
We need political reform, ENTITLEMENT REFORM, and operational reform. WE NEED THOSE DESPERATELY.
6% of americans say the stimulus he rushed through didn't produce any jobs and if he believed it did, why did we need another and if it did why do we have to spend what we haven't spent yet?
LOL!! That means 94% see through his smoke and mirrors three card monty hustle.
The economic crisis began with a huge run up in home prices from the the 70's. The government subsidized home ownership via various measures and created artificial demand. Most of that 94% know a home is just a place to live and not an investment. Most know if the government creates a huge run up via artificial demand through incentives that eventually that run has to work its way out through free markets.
"6% of americans say the stimulus he rushed through didn't produce any jobs and if he believed it did, why did we need another and if it did why do we have to spend what we haven't spent yet?"
Since I apparently need to spoon feed it to you, I was responding to how you said 6% of americans said the stimulus didn't produce jobs.
Good job paying attention to what comment I responded to. I'm done here. You obviously can't hold your own in a debate to save your life.
You are still in diapers and blame your grandma for BHO and his failures.
I told everyone this was going to happen. If BHO didn't get everything he wanted, the resistance was going to be labeled racist or stuck in the past.
The oldest founding document of any nation today is the constitution and most of us see and know you and BHO and others like you want to render the constitution obsolete and irrelevant. We defeated tyranny 234 years ago and we will do it again. I like the const.
30 years old and you act like a 15 year old. Funny, how that works.
What I said was, "Everyone and their grandmother". You see, it's a term used by people to portray that they feel a large amount of people are doing/are associated with what is said before the statement.
I'll admit you had a solid argument in the beginning, but it's degraded into something that's just sad.
I'm still in diapers? Ok. 1 week away from being able to legally buy alcohol and I'm still in diapers. Sure.
All you got is feelings. Feelings are just opinions. Facts are facts. My facts that our unfunded commitments that are over $100 Trillion prevent us from expanding our government.
You are proving my point that punks who don't work or pay income taxes shouldn't be allowed to have opinions. You should be thankful for people like me paying for a country for you to live in.
Debating with you is like debating with a die-hard christian. There's no winning because you're not even playing the game. You're off in your own little world, convinced that everyone else is wrong and you're the only one that's right.
Facts? Don't start with that. Some of the things you stated were facts, true. Then your argument mutated into some opinionated asshole acting like he's the only person in the room.
Go ahead. Claim that you've won again. This is the internet, you lose.
Again all you have is hope and feelings. You have absolutely no factual evidence BHO has accomplished anything and most are resistant to his plans for health care.
if they use budget reconciliation, for this BHO will prove the point he is no leader and will be stuck with a poor community organizer for life.
Look where he comes from. 50% of black males don't get a high school diploma and 50% of black males are functionally illiterate. 50% of black females have an STD by the time they are 20.
You are irrelevant, inexperienced, immature, and in way over your head. No wonder you support BHO. He is the most inexperienced guy in the room...in ever room and he wants to lecture us. Just like you are trying to do. Neither you nor he is smart enough to know degrees and academia and theory don't cut it in the real world.
Really, man. You're saddest 30 year old I've ever seen. Can't admit when your wrong, won't acknowledge it, and you go to insults and degradations when you begin to lose. What's the matter? Mommy not love you enough? And let's not forget the "I'm older than you, so I'm right" tactic. The one that wasn't valid in grade school, where it was most used. Let alone in the adult world. You can delude yourself into thinking you've won, you already are. Just don't enjoy it for too long, it won't last.
How am I wrong when 6% think the stimulus worked? If it did why did we need a new stimulus recently?
Gov incentives drove up home prices for 30 years. Now there is no way to keep those propped up. I hope your parents aren't upside down like more than 20% in their mortgages.
The whole thing is a fraud and all you can do is play games like a little beotch.
It is people like you who give progressive and liberals a bad name. You clowns think you are more intelligent than everyone else just because you are liberal. You clowns think you are more enlightened just because of your political views when in reality you are so naive to trust your government to get anything right. Other than the military, out government is incompetent. If it were competent, how did we run up over $100 TRILLION in unfunded commitments and borrow 40% of gov spending?
That means 94% are more intelligent and see through the smoke and mirrors game and see the empty suit BHO is.
He is failing miserably and you can't blame everyone for his inability to get anything done. It is his party that had supermajorities and he still gets squat done.
"show me someone who isn't a liberal in their 20's and I will show you someone who doesn't have a heart. Show me someone who is a liberal in their 40's and I will show you someone who doens't have a brain."
Ben Franklin is good too. He said,
"Any people willing to give up freedom for security deserve neither."
@bkdmd I agree with Ben Franklin. Which is why the republican/conservative party whom supported Bush's Patriot Act should all kill themselves.
Also, Winston Churchhill's quote seems odd to me. Considering the country was founded (most conservatives don't realize this) by progressive liberals. So what is it, are we trying to conserve what our founding fathers set up, or did they just not have brains? I'd be down to become a british loyalist.
A government big enough to do everything for you is big enough to take everything from you.
Thomas Jefferson
That dude was a visionary. Here we sit we can't pay for medicare, social security, and Part D and everyonen expect their governemtn to prop up the economy and give everything to them so we can all be equal...equally poor and become the first develped country to become underdeveloped.
But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods or no God. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg. - Thomas Jefferson
He really was, though conservatives are very selective of which quotes they use of his. George Washington was also a great person, like when he basically told Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton they were retarded for creating their political parties in his farewell address.
Conservatives and Liberals want to control people.
I am for freedom.
I think you should keep most of the money you make. In 2009 total gov spending was 47% of our GDP.
But, the federal government borrowed 40% of the money it spent.
We are tapped out. The free markets have to work so we can get back to normal. The government can't prevent the coming fall in home prices. They are a big part of the problem via tax incentives.
Well, that's mature. Dismiss my statements by hiding behind quotes telling me what kind of opinion I have based on my age group and that apparently I don't deserve security or freedom. You do realize that the only thing you accomplished here was making an ass of yourself? You essentially just launched a personal attack by quoting famous people from the past. Stick to the present. You seem the problems here tend to be different, because, you know, this isn't back when the BoR was written.
If socialism works so well, why are people forced into it?
Charlie Rangel and Tim Geithner don't pay taxes becuase they are above the rules. They both want us to pay more, but as true liberals their rules only apply to others and not them.
Who is making as ass out themselves? You are sure coming across like a snotty nosed juvenile who doens't know much about anything.
Those who don't know history are destined to repeat it.
Corey, Barack Obama is trying to help, but his kind of help is wasting billions of taxpayer money on plans that don't make sense. Sure, everyone wants healthcare reform, but not when it costs trillions of dollars with no way of paying for it. Just taxing the rich is not going to cover it. The middle class will also see tax hikes.
Republican Party became a symbol of ignorance, religious extremism and backwardness in this country. Fascinating story but it should not come as a surprise. If your "religion" is XIX century England model of capitalism you will attract only the lowest common denominator among the society, pseudo-educated "experts" with mentality straight from the state of Alabama/Alaska, and militant christian psychos who will suck your dick if you ban abortion.
Filibustering is entirely legal, but it's anti-democratic. It is the minority being able to prevent a vote that would go against them if it was actually voted on. This is as true for Dems as Repubs. If a simple majority is all that was required (which it is, according to the Constitution), we would have the public option already. There are at least 54 votes for it. It is the filibuster that is preventing this... along with Obama's spinelessness.
Stop being an average republican and give some relevant reasons why you dont like him. And be sure your reasons are easily stamped out by a 5 second google search.
@EmpathyWorks; Typical progressive/liberal response, throw out the race-card at anyone who opposes your view. How would you respond to Thomas Sowell or Herman Cain, or have you ever heard of them? This has nothing to do about ethnicity and everything to do about philosophy.
This should help people see the real side of Obama and the kind you know what he can be how disrespectful can you be to someone that even if you don't aggree he is older than you and that means you show him respect. And what is Obama talking about that all Obama has don for the last year is campaining .
Show him respect? He's acting like a child. I don't know about you, but when someone acts childish, entirely blocking up any way to reconcile an important issue, I tend to not care about whether they are my elder or not. They're an obstruction, I don't respect obstructions.
This isn't the full video of course. I liked the video where it shows McCain talking about what Obama promised in the campaign. That's why Obama said what he said. This video only shows half of the conversation. What a pile of shit.
Walnuts: We dont like your bill because we dont like anything that doesnt give tax cuts to the rich, so Im going to attempt to act like I care about poor people and you dont, even though no one likes me or believes anything I say anymore.
Hopey: Keepin it real as usual, arent you Dickhead?
love it when that young colored kid reminds the adults to please try and act like grownups. Im still waiting for one of those old yokels to jump up and yell You Lie!
Its possible that no good change will come from this bit of theater, but Barry sure aint gonna lose any debates with these old fossils.
@MrEmesis it's true dude, believe me, I ain't pulling numbers out of air, I read it in real studies done by experts.....15% of the US population (that's around 40 million)don't have heath insurance......do the research if you don't believe me
@Zare87; The 40 million uninsured statistic includes; young adults who feel indestructible and do not see the need to purchase insurance, affluent individuals and families who are relatively healthy and pay as they go and twelve-million illegal foreign nationals. All in all, there are between twelve and seventeen million legitimately uninsured. I suppose it depends on where you read your stats and how you read them.
you make a good point but still 15% of the population doesn't have it either cause they chose not to have it (not cause they don't want it but don't want to spend the money or in) or cause they can't afford it....compare that to canada and other developed countries where we all have it ;).....it's just sad for you americans
@Zare87; "Not cause they don't want it, but don't want to spend the money on it." You just described freedom of choice; if people don't want to spend 'their money' on it, someone else shouldn't have to pay for it. As for Canada and other so-called 'developed countries,' that was a choice also, a choice to have the central government control your healthcare. Believe me, and many Americans, we would rather have more personal freedom of choice, than have the central government intrude any further.
I love how people in this believe that us conservatives are the sheep. We don't support the GOP, we don't support the Dems, We support good ideas, and voting down of bad ones. If you are too stupid to realize that government takeover of health care and special interests in a bill won't help anything, then you are the sheep.
Attack my ideals, attack my theories, but trying to attack the person is weak at best. That is all you progressives have, and until you prove me wrong, i will vote you out.
It isn't a 'government takeover' of healthcare, it's a corporate takeover of government.
A government takeover of health care would be a good idea. It's working very well in a lot of places. In England if you're injured the responders check your injuries, not your credit rating.
Over in England, they are in far worse shape then we are. They cannot afford the system, and i have relatives over there. If you get cancer, it is a death sentence. Over here you can get it treated. The system isn't perfect, but is better then over there.
Also a corporate takeover??? I think you have been smoking. What company wants to raise tax's on both cap and trade and through health care, and want to lose money. Companies are here to make money. They will recede if they are to lose money.
Too bad the statistics don't bear that out. It's life expectancy that is the most important statistic to consider when gauging the QUALITY of health care, and we aren't even close to the top.
@JBeatty17 You can't help that Americans are also one of the fattest nations, we over stress ourselves to the point of collapse. We are reckless, and we have a much higher death rate at lower ages.
Heres a statistic for ya. It takes over 6 months for them to start treating cancer for you in england.
Also @Zare87 it is sad, but we cannot spend our way out of it, for we would bankrupt the US doing so. Make it cheaper though development and reform, not government spending.
@JBeatty17; You cannot measure a healthcare system merely by 'life expectancy.' There are other factors that enter the equation in determining the 'life expectancy' of any given country such as; the infant mortality rate, the overall diet of a country, genetics, crime and genocide. The U.S. may not be #1, but we have come along way since 1900 when the 'life expectancy' was a mere 49.2 years compared to the 77.9 years we see today. America isn't high on nutrition right now, but it's our choice.
it is well documented in countires with socialized medicine they don't count all of the infants that die early after birth. We also drive more, have more guns, have more ATV's/motorcycles, hunt more, etc etc etc.
We also have large disposable incomes and have very very poor nutrition and activity levels.
Most understand your point if you have an open mind.
Lies, lies lies. I've been there, their health care system is fine. They pay 50% less than we for better outcomes. Go blow some insurance company CEO.
See, you had me until "If you are too stupid to realize that government takeover of healthcare..."
Its funny because only stupid people, who havent taken out time to do a 10 min google session on the subject, believe that the government is trying to takeover healthcare.
I guess the regulation of the meat industry to protect us from disease due to faulty processing is "GOVERNMENT TAKEOVER OF THE MEAT INDUSTRY!!!".....
It is naiive people like you, people with knowledge an inch deep and a mile wide who lead us into the cul de sacs. Do you really believe that the regulation of the meat industry does anything at all , except waste our money and give authority to a bunch of government "authorities" do don't know diddly about squat.
How about the real reason we don't buy tainted meat. Put that part in here too. Dumb ass.
Did you follow the debate at all? It was about exploring options and hearing the Republican idea's. McCain did not give any, none, just more NO NO NO from the party of NO.
He whined about how many pages the bill has. lol...
Oh and very clever of you to incorrectly name your president. What are you, in third grade?
P: First off, this is not a debate it's called a "summit". Sometimes called a "conference". A meeting of two or more people to discuss a topic of concern. Get a clue as to what you're talking about. Debate?! Idiot.
The Republicans have been trying to get through the narrow minds of the prog libs to no avail. Let me complete your sentence. ...the party of NO STUPIDITY!
Lastly, I always spell 0bama with a zero because everything 0bama does is zero. 14 months of failures and lies.
14 months of the GOP adding that 0 to your little wordplay. They block everything, EVEN the things they wanted before. Why? Because it makes Obama look bad and then they have a good compaign platform next elections.
Exactly the reason you just give... The GOP is playing you for a fool. They care more for the next campaign in 3 years than they care for the American people.
You blame Obama for not passing much because YOUR party blocks everything?? Haha. You're such a GOP sheep.
P:At least I know the difference between a "debate" and "summit".
I have no love for the Republican party. They've let me down plenty. But they're certainly the lesser of two evils given our current corrupt 2 party system.
Lay down with the dems and you get cap&trade, phony baloney climate change, backroom deals health care plan, gov take over of corporations, taxes taxes taxes and don't forget the coming amnesty for illegals. Who wouldn't say no to this shit?
your such an idiot i don't even know where to begin
"Phony baloney climate change" go to the Antarctic and watch the ice melt you brain dead idiot.
"Coming amnesty for illegals" oh man I love the race baiting you "independents" traffic in.
So those last 8 years of Republican rule were great? Oh yea, gutting the revenue of the federal government by the largest tax cuts in history, and then bitching about the deficit...
What taxes? Obama has CUT taxes, your totally brain-washed
Data (quietly) released by NASA shows that the 4 warmest years ever recorded occurred in the 1930's, with the warmest year on record being 1934 (not 1998). Turns out this NASA data was revised because of a Y2K bug in the algorithm used to adjust measurement station raw data.
Antartic ice sheets are growing. And when you consider that they contain 90% of earths ice, then 90% of earths ice is GROWING you dumber mother fucker.
mic:East Antarctica is four times the size of west Antarctica and parts of it are cooling. The Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research report prepared for last week's meeting of Antarctic Treaty nations in Washington noted the South Pole had shown "significant cooling in recent decades".
A paper published by the British Antarctic Survey in the journal Geophysical Research Letters is confirms that over the past 30 years, the area of sea ice around the continent has expanded.
mic: mic: cont..."It's hard to see a global-warming signal from the mainland of Antarctica right now," says head of Polar Meteorology Group at the Byrd Polar Research Center.
Shall I embarrass you more by going to the next mindless comment to made to my about accusing me of "race baiting" or don't you look foolish enough? Dumb mother fucker.
onedumbmickpoet: It's like trying to get rid of the cock roaches by burning down the house.
If we need a painting or an idea for a new welfare program, we call on you liberals. But this is business and we require people who know how to run a business. Not a community organizer with no experience other than shagging his fat ass wife.
jump: The problem with Bush was that he wasn't a conservative. He was a progressive republican. And if you think your offending me by bashing Bush your wrong. I never voted or otherwise supported this dumb s.o.b. I voted democrat in 2004 due to this mismanaged war but I had no idea just how left the Democratic party has become. I'll doubt I'll ever vote Democratic again with the exception of the blue dogs. But none of them represent my state.
I don't know how you define conservative, but for the first six years of the Bush administration, he had the full and vociferous support of the right-wing media. OK, so maybe not you. But I can hardly be blamed for assuming that a self-proclaimed conservative would not have voted for Bush back in 2004. What is it about the Democrats that makes them so left-wing, in your opinion? Most liberals would say that the problem with the Democrats is they are ...
...too corrupted by ties to corporations. Have you ever heard the term 'corporatist Democrat?' I don't know if you remember McGovern and Mondale, but compared to those guys, Obama is a mad-dog capitalist.
@jumpoutatree; You didn't go far enough... Both parties have become 'Corporatist Democrats' and 'Corporatist Republicans.' There lies the problem, politicians listen more too corporate campaign funding and special interest groups than they do their immediate constituencies. Until there is significant campaign finance reform and restraints put on lobbyists, Washington, D.C. will never be 'fixed,' and the American people will continue to go unheard.
As apposed to Obama who has really never run anything other than a campaign! Hell every time he got elected, he started campaigning for the pay raise never actually doing the job he was elected to do!
I wish u libs would remember that Repubs are the minority! You keep bitching that Republicans are the ones that keep everything from passing, but it's the Dems that can't even agree with each other to get anything passed! If they could agree on ANYTHING then Repubs wouldn't have a say!
The Repubs are in the minority, but because they are unanimous in their opposition to health care reform, and they are threatening filibuster, they are effectively holding the Senate hostage on this issue. This means that they have to get every single Democrat to go along, in order to break a filibuster. If it was simple majority, we would already have single payer in this country.
A filibuster proof majority is a strictly theoretical concept. In reality, such a situation has very limited value, if for no other reason than the fact that it is hard to get a unanimous party line vote when you have to corral that many members. The reason we don't have the public option right now is because the Republicans are unanimously opposed, and a handful of Democrats have been bought by the insurance industry. The majority of the Senate would put the public option in today ---
What a crock of shit! The reason we don't have the public option is because the democrats with any morsel of good sense know that they will lose their jobs if they vote for it! Most Americans do NOT want it!
It is beyond me how all the far left keep blaming Republicans for things not getting accomplished! They ALL need to stop whining and pointing fingers and actually start representing what voters want. And if you think the majority of people want the public option, then you have been watching too much MSNBC! They need to put healthcare on the backburner and try creating a few jobs besides gov't jobs!
I could just as easily turn it around and say that if you DON'T think the majority wants the public option, YOU have been watching too much FOX. I'm sorry if some things are "beyond" you, but I've explained it in plain English, and I can't be expected to make unnecessary allowances for your poor reading comprehension.

Owned? That's what you say in pre-school. I WON I WON YOU SHUT UP!
Please... that was almost as unpresidential as him resting his chin on his hand. Is he in class? I used to do that in high school & college when I was bored. I mean shit...
I dont think you understand. The bush and obama regimes are responsible for the largest distribution of wealth from the people to corporations in human history.
I agree on Bush and Obama, but with a small caveat.... Obama did not set that train in motion and hopefully he will be the one to stop it. That still remains to be seen.
Maybe you missed it. Obama wrote the executive order allowing Dod on the banking committee to allow previous contracts with CEO's at the banks to retain their bonuses. Hence, even if they were going bankrupt, they got bailed out then were allowed to keep the bonus money.
If you listen to Obama/Bush rheteric you'd think O sa ma will strike anyday now, Goldman Sachs didn't make record profits and the unemployment is 2%.
You're being too generous. The redistribution of wealth from the middle class to the upper class via corporate welfare began under Reagan, and hasn't let up since.
Why single just the last two Administrations out? It's taken 30 years to achieve the largest income disparity gap in the G20. Welcom to Gilded Age 2.0.
I think what he meant to say was "the people had BETTER disapprove of this bill after the health care industry lobby has spent over half a billion dollars to TELL them they disapprove of it."
When McCain talks about removing special deals, special interest, treat all Americans the same....does that mean he should have the same "benefits" as the rest of us....(which is none)....or does McCain consider his government paid medical care as special interest and that all Americans should have the same government paid Health Care that he enjoys and keeps him (and Cheney) alive and healthy at/on our (taxpayers) expense...?
The greatest part of this "summit" is that it is video proof with a lot of coverage from the media. Unlike CSPAN which most people do not watch this will show who knows what and who is doing what happened here. We have a ton of old thinkers in the senate and overall government like dirty fixtures! This setting alllows for open engagment where it couldn't be more obvious.
I kind of felt sorry for McCain, with his awkward little laugh.
Cantor got it worse when he stacked the bills up to his chin (which, admittedly isn't very far) as a stage prop. Last time I saw anybody pull a stunt like that was when Oliver North built a little fort out of all of his letters of support at the Iran-Contra hearings.
McCain is an old fool. He needs to shut the hell up. What most veterans don't understand is that McCain is one of the biggest anti-veteran voters in Washington. He can parade his service around and make patriotic speeches about how much he cares for his fellow veterans. While in reality he doesn't give a fuck about anyone but himself.
In the arena of open debate and ideas, McCain cannot provide anything other than simple-minded platitudes.
"We need to remove the special-interests from the bill and treat all Americans equally." Well, that tells us absolutely nothing about what you actually support.
Obama was clearly disappointed and frustrated with the obvious republican strategy of just using talking points and focusing on the areas where there is disagreement instead of trying to find common ground. Obama is getting angry and, in my opinion, it's about time. The republicans have never intended to negotiate in good faith and no matter how much Obama tries to advance the notion of bipartisanship the republicans are intent on ruining his presidency. Hopefully, this will be a wake-up call.
@3star2nr: You have to understand McCainSpeak to realize that when he said "a bill for the people" he meant the people that are the shareholders and CEO's of the big ins. companies.

He had one year to get anything accomplished becaues he had super majorities and he looked like he has ADD...can you say no experience?
bkdmd 1 year ago
I can say lack of patience. I can say that he told us it would take time for things to change. I can say that his lack of experience has caused quite a large amount of people to fight against his agenda before he even began it. It's as if the second he began to move in the direction he promised, everyone and their grandmother violently refused to let things change. It's fucking sick.
Corey897 1 year ago
What is sickening is how a president can get elected and have no management experience.
What is sickening is a POTUS thinking that propping up the home prices with tax credits for first time home owners is a good thing.
What is sickening is not being a leader and just a community disorganizer.
How can anyone trust this guy is beyond me.
I am glad your grandmother figured it out. Sometimes the truth hurts and she is indeed right on the money with her feelings. You will come around.

Also, Winston Churchhill's quote seems odd to me. Considering the country was founded (most conservatives don't realize this) by progressive liberals.

@MrEmesis it's true dude, believe me, I ain't pulling numbers out of air, I read it in real studies done by experts.....15% of the US population (that's around 40 million)don't have heath insurance......do the research if you don't believe me
Zare87 1 year ago
@Zare87; The 40 million uninsured statistic includes; young adults who feel indestructible and do not see the need to purchase insurance, affluent individuals and families who are relatively healthy and pay as they go and twelve-million illegal foreign nationals. All in all, there are between twelve and seventeen million legitimately uninsured. I suppose it depends on where you read your stats and how you read them.
MCFergy 1 year ago
you make a good point but still 15% of the population doesn't have it either cause they chose not to have it (not cause they don't want it but don't want to spend the money or in) or cause they can't afford it....compare that to canada and other developed countries where we all have it ;).....it's just sad for you americans
Zare87 1 year ago 4
@Zare87; "Not cause they don't want it, but don't want to spend the money on it." You just described freedom of choice; if people don't want to spend 'their money' on it, someone else shouldn't have to pay for it. As for Canada and other so-called 'developed countries,' that was a choice also, a choice to have the central government control your healthcare. Believe me, and many Americans, we would rather have more personal freedom of choice, than have the central government intrude any further.

A government takeover of health care would be a good idea. It's working very well in a lot of places. In England if you're injured the responders check your injuries, not your credit rating.
rkeppler3633 1 year ago
Over in England, they are in far worse shape then we are. They cannot afford the system, and i have relatives over there. If you get cancer, it is a death sentence. Over here you can get it treated. The system isn't perfect, but is better then over there.
Also a corporate takeover??? I think you have been smoking. What company wants to raise tax's on both cap and trade and through health care, and want to lose money. Companies are here to make money. They will recede if they are to lose money.
warhero1 1 year ago
You get treated if you have money/insurance.
simonnewtboy 1 year ago
Too bad the statistics don't bear that out. It's life expectancy that is the most important statistic to consider when gauging the QUALITY of health care, and we aren't even close to the top.
JBeatty17 1 year ago
@JBeatty17 You can't help that Americans are also one of the fattest nations, we over stress ourselves to the point of collapse. We are reckless, and we have a much higher death rate at lower ages.
Heres a statistic for ya. It takes over 6 months for them to start treating cancer for you in england.
Also @Zare87 it is sad, but we cannot spend our way out of it, for we would bankrupt the US doing so. Make it cheaper though development and reform, not government spending.
warhero89 1 year ago
@JBeatty17; You cannot measure a healthcare system merely by 'life expectancy.' There are other factors that enter the equation in determining the 'life expectancy' of any given country such as; the infant mortality rate, the overall diet of a country, genetics, crime and genocide. The U.S. may not be #1, but we have come along way since 1900 when the 'life expectancy' was a mere 49.2 years compared to the 77.9 years we see today. America isn't high on nutrition right now, but it's our choice.
MCFergy 1 year ago
it is well documented in countires with socialized medicine they don't count all of the infants that die early after birth. We also drive more, have more guns, have more ATV's/motorcycles, hunt more, etc etc etc.
We also have large disposable incomes and have very very poor nutrition and activity levels.
Most understand your point if you have an open mind.

Its funny because only stupid people, who havent taken out time to do a 10 min google session on the subject, believe that the government is trying to takeover healthcare.

Phyrexious 1 year ago 6
P: First off, this is not a debate it's called a "summit". Sometimes called a "conference". A meeting of two or more people to discuss a topic of concern. Get a clue as to what you're talking about. Debate?! Idiot.
The Republicans have been trying to get through the narrow minds of the prog libs to no avail. Let me complete your sentence. ...the party of NO STUPIDITY!
Lastly, I always spell 0bama with a zero because everything 0bama does is zero. 14 months of failures and lies.
MrEmesis 1 year ago
14 months of the GOP adding that 0 to your little wordplay. They block everything, EVEN the things they wanted before. Why? Because it makes Obama look bad and then they have a good compaign platform next elections.
Exactly the reason you just give... The GOP is playing you for a fool. They care more for the next campaign in 3 years than they care for the American people.
You blame Obama for not passing much because YOUR party blocks everything?? Haha. You're such a GOP sheep.

It's funny how you try to spin the "Party of NO" around into something else when we all know the only word they use IS NO.
And yea, Repubs do give you less taxes, and how did that work out for ya? China catching up already?
Paid those trillions of dollars debt back to them yet? No, I didn't think so.

88fanofdalejr 1 year ago
The Repubs are in the minority, but because they are unanimous in their opposition to health care reform, and they are threatening filibuster, they are effectively holding the Senate hostage on this issue. This means that they have to get every single Democrat to go along, in order to break a filibuster. If it was simple majority, we would already have single payer in this country.
jumpoutatree 1 year ago
Before the election of Scott Brown, the Dems had a filibuster proof majority for months and still failed to get it done. What's the excuse now?
88fanofdalejr 1 year ago
A filibuster proof majority is a strictly theoretical concept. In reality, such a situation has very limited value, if for no other reason than the fact that it is hard to get a unanimous party line vote when you have to corral that many members. The reason we don't have the public option right now is because the Republicans are unanimously opposed, and a handful of Democrats have been bought by the insurance industry. The majority of the Senate would put the public option in today ---
jumpoutatree 1 year ago
What a crock of shit! The reason we don't have the public option is because the democrats with any morsel of good sense know that they will lose their jobs if they vote for it! Most Americans do NOT want it!
88fanofdalejr 1 year ago
It is beyond me how all the far left keep blaming Republicans for things not getting accomplished! They ALL need to stop whining and pointing fingers and actually start representing what voters want. And if you think the majority of people want the public option, then you have been watching too much MSNBC! They need to put healthcare on the backburner and try creating a few jobs besides gov't jobs!

I could just as easily turn it around and say that if you DON'T think the majority wants the public option, YOU have been watching too much FOX.
