I don't get it.... Why do people who speak english, prefer the subs? The jappanese may think they're dub is bad. The english dont even speak jappanese and they think its amazing or something, when, they have a remake of one speaking there own language. Don't get me wrong, I love both, but I wont fight about it. Wouldn't make any sense..

Lucky Star, on the other hand, is not one of those 2. Infact, the VA cast for Lucky Star is among the best I've seen.

@bluerose117 I don't think the Lucky Star dub was that bad. I've watched both. I think the voices match well but the dialog would need work. they basically took the subtitles and voiced them.
A good example would be the Naruto dub, aside from the "believe it" crap that was added in, the show had a good dub and all voices sounded like the Japanese ones. most people put dubs down, but if you take the time and look you can see, sure Lucky star dub isn't the best, but its very far from the worst!!
@Startrance666 It all really depends on the voice acting, honestly. I've seen some anime that have terrible Japanese voice acting and excellent English voice acting. Its all a matter of preference really, and in the case of Lucky Star, I'm good with both languages. :3

@FinReVieWs Haha, but yeah, this anime is supposed to be set in Japan xD So, it somewhat makes sense in this one. Any other like, say Hetalia (besides for Japan the character) or FMA, or ANYTHING not set in Japan doesn't make sense, so I agree with you in those terms.

The meaning of the dub is to translate the context in english and if theres japanese words in between its tragic failure.

@FinReVieWs Dude calm down. I'm saying, if an anime is set in certain places, for example, England, it would make sense to give them an accent correct? Even when we speak english we greet people properly. (My name is Kaede, so my friends in english still call me Kaede-chan) so, I think anime, even in english, should use that places cultures/customs.

@Immakittycat1 What.. I am calm. Yes proper greeting is important, but idiosm like chan,kun,sempai etc are not suposed to be in dubs. (im starting to think that you dont know why there is dubs).
An example i watched spanish show with dub (not my proudest moments) and they didint use senior or any other spanish words, why? Because Dub is translation to anohter culture hence the lack of words that arent suposed to be there.

@FinReVieWs Gah. I do know why dubs are there. I'm just stating its fun to hear different cultures/things or whatever in english too. I agree that its English and its not really necessary to put things in there. I'm just saying its more realistic, and would probably get less hate if they did that (As people like original here more, though, my friends and I love Lucky Star's dub **As of yesterday XD** because of the fact they use our language sometimes)

I dont like the voices. :3 but thats just me. I'm sure there are those who like english over Japanese. sometimes i like english dub voices over japanese voices... but sometimes i don't. Sometimes i see english first and dislike the English when i hear Japanese. I don't like them but I'm not hating.

So did I say kawaii myself? No, I used quotation marks so it was half a joke. But dubs suck seriously because the dubbers just can't do the same quality with english so the jokes are gonna blow. (Ruining the anime and it's reputation with dumb dubs is what irritates me...) Why even attempt to dub these show? Btw. the dubbing process is individual, but the original sounds are recorded as a group and it has it's interaction like in a play.

This doesn't automatically make me a prick, because i dont go around on videos hating on dubs for no reason.
