OH wow.. that was easy!!! I changed the oil in my little mower yesterday. I cleaned the underside.. YUCK.. it was a mess. My air filter is a little different.. i washed it, its a sponge and soaked it with the oil again. Its fairly new so i think the plug is still good. I looked in my husbands goody shed, he had some gas additive, so i added that to my gas can. Thanks for the video!!! Yes, I am taking the oil to the jiffy lub this morning. They take it for free.
OH wow.. thanks for the video. I just got a new mower. Didnt know anything about washing the underside. How often did you say change the oil? Once a season? I have a huge yard, about an acre, and i mow about every three days during the growing season. I mow in sections because its so hot in Texas.
I used to have a Craftsman just like yours, but it got too hard to push around the yard. If you were fat and lazy like me, you'd trade that thing in for a big riding mower. Life is so much easier now... XD
Wait... You're telling me I have to put OIL in my mower? That can't be right. I've had mine for ten years and I'm pretty sure I've never had to put any in it before... It stopped smoking a couple of years ago, which I thought was better for the environment anyways.
Great video Eric! Very helpful tips ....and some I didn't know about!
Btw...a long time back you said we were going to see the girl behind the camera...will that ever happen? Or, does she just not want to show her face? Just curious ;D
Could have used these tips 25 years ago... I when thru so many mowers.... Now I got a small yard and just use electric mower, it starts every time. But thanks about the cleaning the deck I do need to do that.
A small engine mechanic in our area does not recommend the use of stabil because he has seen gunked up carburetors because of it. We had a generator that was in long term storage with stabil in the tank. We ended up disasembling the carburetor to clean it.
Great video Eric. I sure could have used this a month ago. Yes, we mow early in Texas! I was trying to figure out where to change the air filter, and I disassembled the carburetor! What a mess! Got it up and running smooth now. Thanks for all the tips!! Tim in Dallas.
