  • @ZekeZeke81 Classic troll move. Guys, don't even respond or try to point out how stupid zekezeke81 is. He's just trolling cuz hes got nothing better to do.

  • @ZekeZeke81

Didn't even say that good? What the hell does that even mean? Racist idiot.

  • How many of us would ever even think of doing something like this! He's not one in a million -- more like one in a hundred million. "Well, I'd do it again if I had to." And you know he would!

So many people get huge rewards in life for doing just about nothing at all. If there were any justice, Wesley would be a zillionaire. His kids are very lucky to have such a father, and humanity is lucky to have such a member.

  • this guy is one of those so call regular people but would own celebrity people anyday. just another example why we shouldnt down ourself just becuz we aint a rapper or singer or actor or pornstar.

  • This guy is really a true hero. Wesley Autrey you have my respect a man that would part himself in harms way to help another person like that deserves to be a recognized. you've shown courage & selflessness your the man and you are a shining example for us all. God bless you and your family.

  • That was a risk Mr.Wesley, and you had your two daughters watching that damn, you did a hell of a job,but one thing i got to say is you can be a good actor just the way you telling the story and the movement i feel like i was there when it happend,i love it Sir hollywood period, but that's a blessing. ;)

  • @lillymg For real, this guy could be an actor. felt like I was watching Denzel in "The Taken of Pelham 123" for a minute.

  • Mr Autrey you are a real hero!

  • i know right....:)

  • "What better way to start the new year then to save a life?"

    Mr. Wesley Autrey

  • damn, where was the "Aultraman" when WR Plaxico Burress shot himself in the leg? all of New York (atleast The Giants) needed his prompt decision-making and bravery!

    why, Aultraman...where were you?

  • Good to know there's a shred of genuine humanity left.

  • " and the only thing that happened to me was my blue hat got dirty" LOL i love this guy....a true hero

  • Amazing story of courage

  • AWESOME human being. You fucking rock, Wes.

  • I got a paper to write in this video for my Phil-120 class. I am amazed by the Autrey feelings of humanism. My compliments to him.

  • Wesley "Aultraman" Autrey

  • Classic! Love his humour.

  • a real hero for america

  • Much, much respect

  • This guy. Wow. It makes you wonder what you would do in that situation. I'd like to think my adrenaline would kick in and I'd go for it too but damn. Who would think there is that much clearance in between the rails and the train.

    BALLS OF STEEL!

  • More power to you, brother. peace and respect.

  • and modest too sarahice, thats what I like

  • that shit is heart warming

  • wow, thats so amazing! I saved someone from drowning but that sounds CRAZY!!! holy crap, thats what I call a hero.

  • Now that is true hero with pure heart. Young America idolise this man and his actions. Forget about the music and other influences you have. The ability to have willingly self sacrifice and have no second thought about it, what a pure heart.

  • steroids will never shrink the size of those balls

  • I stand in awe.

  • Truly remarkable, looks like something out of a movie what happened.

  • I hope he got some kind of scholarship for at least one of his daughters out of this, Oprah?

  • natural born actor.meets david and doesn't blink,tells a story like apro.

  • his daughters mite have jumped on the track...tats the only part i feel he dit think about...

  • The world needs more people like you Mr. Autrey. GOD Bless you and your family. To the guy he saved, man thats crazy !

  • He's a great guy... and I'm also glad that this remarkable story HASN'T been forgotten one year on, which actually is the case with all or most news stories in the mass media of today.

  • that's an awesome story

  • wow. grace of God

  • cute kids

  • he is damn brave

  • Wesley Autrey is a true hero in every sense of the word. I looked up the definition of Hero in an online dictionary: "A person noted for feats of courage or nobility of purpose, especially one who has risked or sacrificed his or her life."

  • my daughter would of ran behind me.she loves me like thate.hahhahaha (crowed).what the fuck is so funny about that,no what is so funny about having a loving daughter like her?

  • I hope NYC gave tis guy a nice gift. What a great guy.

  • wesley is 1 outta 100 men dat wud do dat tru hero

  • good story

  • good thinking brother!

  • He is an everyday average man why should he have to be? Just thank God he saved a life. I don't think that his speech should have ever come into play!

  • Da Man

  • wesley is a legend! true hero

  • I do this everyday! Whats the big deal.

  • what's the big deal? he saved a live and there was a great chance that he wouldn't survive.

  • You are an idiot. Show some respect

  • Autry is a role model for everybody. it takes guts to do what he did in his situation. we have come so far away from our priorities and responsabilites as a human being that this story sounds like a hollywood movie to us.

  • It's great seeing a non-celebrity hold his or her own on a talk show like Letterman or Leno. I read the story about Autrey, and while lots of people are okay with standing around when an accident occurs, he took action. I'd be proud to have him as a neighbor.

  • that's the man u want to watch ur back if u r ever in war !!!

  • wonderful story.

  • Hero complex!?? He saved a guy by diving onto a track and lying under a train! Jeez have some respect.

  • Well, thats a damn good thing and I definitely respect him for that. At the same time I feel sorry for this guy being plundered, handed around and exploited by the media and other miscellaneous shady characters (namely Hillary Clinton, George W. Bush, Donald Trump, etc.) seeking proximity to normal people.

"When we think of hero, we should think of him." Bah! This sounds like a cheesy Hollywood movie. Whats wrong with you guys? Shame on you.

  • This, literally, brought a tear to my eye.

He listened to his inner wisdom and I believe he had saved more than a life. Something so positive happens when you witness any act of kindness, but when you witness someone saving a complete strangers life as if they were their own family it can change the way people think and positively alter humanity as we know it.

I have so much respect for Westley Autrey. God bless him and his family.

    Love&Light

    Michelle

  • Now THAT guy is a true example of all-out selflessness. And he's so modest about it, you can tell. He's just this down-to-earth everyday guy, and he's funny too. He risked his life for a total stranger. Truly amazing human being.

  • I agree, when we think of hero, we should think of him.

  • wow, thats what mkes the world turn

  • Wesley Autrey is a true hero.

  • I have always thought like this guy. People just don't look after each other they way we should. We are all family. What would you have done if it was your family in that gutter? You would have jumped in without thinking about that train. I used to worry that one day I would have to do something like that because I knew I probably would. Mr. Autrey is an awesome man. He listened to what must have been an angle talking to him.

  • WOW! I kept hearing this when it happened but I never heard his whole story. Awesome!

  • this is truly inspirational :)

  • May God bless this man for everything he did and for being the type of man that he is. His daughters are very lucky to have a Dad like him.

  • in Singapore during the month of november, there are 4 death on the mass rapid transit (what we call out train/subway system) tracks in a span of a month, and many more over the past few years, yet, a heroic deed like this never occured. you new yorkers should be very proud of ur hero. i myself am proud to be a human being knowing tht ppl like wesley is in this Earth.

    God bless this man

  • This was so inspirational, a testament to and renewal of our common humanity, so often overlooked in modern times.

  • I would have been one of the people in the audience that stood up for him. Heck, I'd be on my chair applauding. God Bless people like this.

  • If every American gives a $1, he will have $300 million, and in my mind, he deserves every bit of that.

How many people would've done what he did. I'm guessing 1/100,000.

A true hero. I am just a student, but I will do my bit - anything to show the appreciation in a world that is currently so cynical, so divided and so ignorant.

  • I am gonna guess 1/300,000,000 :D

  • awesome

  • Incredible Person Who May Have Changed Views About The Value Of Life In Our Cities. The True Significance Of This Event Is Preconceived Notions And Predjudices Held By Many, Including Segmants Within The NYPD And Law Enforcement Throughout Our Country, May Have To Be Re-thought Based On This Event. We Should Value Life Of The Less Advantaged, For They May Be The Ones Who Sustain Your Existance As Brother Autery Has Unselfishly Demonstrated.

  • Truly amazing. He has some guts that I don't think I would have if I was in the same position. May God Bless Wesley Autrey and his family.

  • Awesome story! God bless you sir.

  • dude is a real hero. restores my faith in humanity after six years of w.

  • I didn't think the laughter was unjustified. Everyone loves a hero, and I am sure everyone admired what he had done. By this time, even the man himself had a little fun with it. I don't think that has any bearing on the act itself, just the way it was being told by the time of the show. Either way it was a real heroic thing to do, and I wish that people felt and acted the way that he did.

  • God bless you Autrey.

  • Huge brass ones, this guy. I'd like to think I'd do the same but I don't know. A true hero.

  • you know you wouldn't CHUMP! :) just teasing

  • wow i couldnt believe this story, there was 21 inches of height between the floor and the train, the two guys in there made a heigh of 20 and half! thats insane!!

  • a real hero... just like that dude the vigilante. He was a hero too wackin those robbers

  • he should be given a unlimited lifetime metro card not a year....mcard! fked up MTA!

  • 3:36....anyone else think the audience's laughter was entirely inappropriate?

  • Yeah kinda was a bit...

  • yes! But i can understand it in a way, the way he tells it makes it look like it was funny, but i would never laughed

  • not entirely

  • yes, i hear you. People in general always think dirty so it's not surprising. I don't think the guy meant to be funny. I mean, he was on top of the other man to protect him. How else was he suppose to say it? the laughter just shows how ppl think! it's sad ....

  • It was more of a nervous laughter at the thought of death.

The irony in that he was speaking that he CHOSE to do this and realizing that he didn't have much space.

The audience wasn't laughing at the thought of him dying, they were laughing at the predicament he put himself on and his decision to save the guy.

Just let it be, dissecting it, will just cause crap.

The audience appreciated him and what he did, leave it at that.

  • Thanks so much for posting this. CBS posted a shorter version but this is much better. What a great story!

  • Finally A Real SuperHero...

  • true hero indeed... i admire him... and he speaks the truth....

  • What an incredible human being. Best wishes to him and his family.

  • a true hero... he deserves all the good shit hes getting his way
