  • Just save up money and buy yourself a GTX 550 ti, will kill any game out there :)

  • I haven't played FEAR 2 yet, but the first one was amazing, the only game that would actually SCARE you into shooting at nothing and randomly punching the air

  • 8800gt> 9600gt Super Puper overcloacked!

  • my graphics card is crap but this still runs well intel chipset 82945g 25fps is great

  • Hmm, looks like Fry's has the best deal, $80 for 9600gt, $100 for 9800gt.

  • I think I'd prefer a 9800gt, if only for the fact that it's newer.

    Looks like it's $100 at Fry's.

GTS 250 for $140 at Fry's would be even better, but the 9800gt is good. Still that's only $40 more.

Looks like at 2560x1600, 100% maxed settings the GTS 250 can do about 50 FPS for COD: WAW. Sounds good to me.

  • yeah, it will be great much better than a 9600gt, a 8800gt is pretty much identical to a 9800gt

  • It depends what you're wanting to play. The 9600GT is getting a bit dated now. It's a good midrange card for the price and any of the brand new games coming out you should be able to play on medium-high settings now. If you're wanting to run newer games maxed out, you'd be better off with something like a 9800GT or preffereably something higher if you can afford it.

  • I downloaded the demo today just to see if it would work on my pc (i also have a 9600GT OC) and wow was i surprised. Maximum for everything and works perfectly, i am going to buy it next week sometime. Amazing game!

  • yeah? I have the same graphic card and the maximun settings but sometimes it goes slow (a little but slowly).

have you got xp or vista?

  • I have Vista, you?

  • I've got XP service pack 3 because my games have been failing in Vista long time ago.

It's so strange, even if the game have the logotype "Games for windows"

  • Yeah i know what you mean. It does it with the old FARCRY and thats such a giid game. I would go back to XP but i have to much stuff on on my pc at the moment and cant be bothered to transfer it all.

  • dude, do you even know how to play this game? you never used the sight on the AR to make it easier to kill the Replicas. And you never used any run and jump/crouch melee combinations.

  • I did say I didn't give an arse about tactics lol. Besides, this video is just to show how well the game runs, nothing more...

  • wow i can get 259 fps on a 24inch highest settings with fear 2

  • ati 4850

  • Hi, I have a question for you, How are you running 4gig of ram on Windows XP has it been limited? Also do you experience any crashes on this game or any other games you might play, Oh and what motherboard are you using at the moment?

  • Hi, the PC is running on 3GB of RAM. It does have 4GB in it, but obviously due to OS limitations, I'm stuck on 3GB. The only reason I have 4GB is because it will work out cheaper in the long run (ie; when I upgrade). I haven't experienced any crashes on any of the games that I play (I have well over 30), unless it is an issue with the game itself (such as bad programming etc) that will affect any PC. The motherboard in my PC is an abit A-N68SV. Hope this helps.

  • lol i saw a bug when you jumped down the hole i the coridor the painting was swinging left to right BEHIND the blood on the wall at 0:45

  • Haha, oh yeah lol :D

  • wen u play the demo its like playing thw whole level , the mix everything up (=

  • I have yet to come across this bit in the actual game. it will probably be like the first FEAR - where they edited bits of the level here and there.

  • settings ? resolution?

  • The settings is 1024x768 maxed out. I have since purchased the full version of the game and upgraded my monitor. The game runs at 1280x1024 on the same settings with no noticeable performance drop.

  • im using amd phenom x3 8450 with 2gb ddr2. for the moment i'm still using my 17 inch lcd maxed out at 1024x768. playing fear 1 no prob at all. avrg FPS around 120++ but i'm worried either my system can handle fear 2 or not. oh ya, my graphic is Galaxy 9600GT not he overclock edition.

  • You should still be able to run it maxed out, if not, at a high setting. If you want to test it, try out the demo you can download. I have played both the demo and have the full game, and the full game does actually perfomr a little bit better. Also, the latest Nvidia Drivers are supposed to boost performance in FEAR 2 by up to 10% . I wouldn't worry about anything dude.

  • latest Nvidia drivers? need to download is't? by the way, some basic question, is there any boost performance if i changed my monitor to 15inch? and basically, i'm using Asus AM628 motherboard, it doesn't mentioned anything about PCI-E 2.0, only PCI-E. guess im running in half bandwith LoL. PCI-E 2.0 and 1.0, how big is the differ??

  • You can obtain the latest Nvidia Drivers for your card from the oficially Nvidia site. Changing your monitor to a 15" wouldn't be a very good idea, since most 15" native resolutions are 1024x768. Since you claim to already be running this resolution on your 17", you would notice no performance improvement There's not much of a difference between PCI-e and PCI-e 2.0 from what I can tell. I'm running this game on full settings at about 50FPS using my 9600GT on a PCI-e 1.0 bus. Hope this helps =)

  • this is a 9600 GT 512MB ddr2 or ddr3?

  • The one in this video is a DDR3 =)

  • Thanks man

  • great for you to have a 9600

  • I played the game also and im going to have to say mESH SHOULD REALLY PLAY THIS GAME :) 5/5 BTW ON YOUR VIDEO

  • this game is made to scare the crap out of you right :D ?

  • Apparently so, but I'll say this; FEAR 1 was a lot scarier to me and I didn't even find that scary :P

  • lol cool

  • lol good GT card glade i invested in one

wouldnt mind gettin anothe rone 4 sli then seeing wat the performance is like

  • Yeah, I'd personally like to try this. However I only have one PCI-e slot, so unfortunately I'm not able to do this, though of course, I would if it were possible. But yes, this is a very good card for the price I think. Only set me back £97 too :D

  • You got to love the 9600GT

  • This was at 1024x768. unfortunately that's all my crappy 15" monitor supports. I don't imagine at 1280x1024 you'd see too much difference, though the game would probably get very unstable around 1440x900 upwards. At least with the 9600GT.

  • AT WHAT RESOLUTION DO YOU PLAY???
