I'm one of those people that can't live outside the borders of Texas. That sounds ridiculous, I know but, when I leave to go see my sister in Alabama, I Thoroughly enjoy and appreciate the sights and people. But, when I see the Texas sign as we approach the border, I let out this huge sigh, like I have been holding my breath or something. I am so happy to be back in it's borders that I almost cry. It's such a relief that I didn't even know was stressing me. I love Texas and everything about it!
Born and Raised in Texas and proudly have we withstood every test in all aspects of life defeating a nation to gain our independence, we have been a sovereign nation, We entered statehood under the United states however we may have seceded but when we became a State of the USA we remain loyal and prosperous and yet have faced dark times yet we prevailed with the USA
@TheKpw1996 You must come from one of those states that don't have state pride. Well, I understand, we can't ALL be Texan... And why come here if you hate Texas? Why post it here, on our State's Anthem. We are a proud Republic. We may have joined the states, but believe me the character of Texas is unmarred by this union.
@89andyman ...you do realize that all of the Alamo defenders were illegal immigrants to Mexico, and to use the Alamo as an anti-illegal immigration argument is simply one of the most ignorant and stupid things you could possibly do, don't you?
Texas just defied the world, our Muslim president, and Mexico. Killing that rapist illegal. Thought it appropriate to play this wonderful anthem in celebration. Love me some TEXAS!
How well I know this song! Mrs Marsh, our music teacher at St Alice Parochial School in Ft Worth, was William Marsh's Sister....We sang this every school day!
To me it is a "religious song", and very moving. I still sing it every day....

Why is Texas in the South, it doesn't deserve to be insulted by being part of the south

I thank you for your support, but please keep the language clean.

I love the song, but what's with the fake British pronunciation? You're singing about TEXAS, no need to put on airs! ;)
