  • Chris,

Great flight sure sounds good! I think it is time for you to get another swift - unless you bought something else...

Dave you sure are a bit goofy and I mean that in a good way LOL. Wish I had you to do some vids for me - definately entertaining for sure!

  • @PC9JEFF Thanks! I've had my eye on the new Swift NX for a while now, but I'm trying to keep the fleet trimmed down a little. At least for a while. ;-)

  • @JustPlaneChris I could ask you this on rc groups but will the nx canopy fit the swift 16?

    J

  • @PC9JEFF I believe I've seen guys running the new NX canopy on the 16. The frame on the NX is basically the same, so I'm pretty sure it'll fit.

  • Wow! that sounds badass. My trex 500 clone doesn't sound anything like that.

  • There's sure a big difference in the sound of 550mm blades compared to the 425mm blades on a "500" size heli. :)

  • This is the video that made me get a swift. Rebuild it Chris! Heh

  • Too late for now, I just sold the motor!

  • sweet flying chris!

  • Thanks Ed! :^)

  • Chris, sounds like your belt is slapping a little during the spool-up. You might want to check the tension, especially if you haven't since before your weather got so hot. I'm reduced to flying between rain showers :)

  • Yep, the belt has always slapped at spoolup. When I installed the CNC tail, I increased the tension just a bit. I don't have any video of it with the new tail, and I don't recall if it slapped at startup or not. I'll pay more attention next time I fly it. :^)

  • Very nice heli. What are the advantages of the A123 packs?

  • They are physically durable, they won't burn even if punctured, you can run them all the way down without harm, they can be fast-charged at up to 10 amps (without cool-down!), they have a proven cycle life of 500+ without performance loss, and the pack cost me only about $125. :^)

  • I like the looks of your LG, what kind are they? Good flying!!

  • Thanks! They are Hirobo Sceadu landing gear. I've seen some other guys running Trex 600 gear on the Swift, and that looks pretty sweet too.

  • Nice flying, you on a 4 cell 5, or 6?? thanks.

  • Thanks! None of the above, actually. I'm running it on a 10 cell A123 pack (36 volts).

  • Ah, I have been running mine on a 4 cell but now just moved up to a 5.

    Thanks

  • Excellent stunts! Many were caught pretty close up. That bird autorotates well.

    Jeff

  • Thanks!

  • Way too much fun, Chris! Nice setup. Nice field. Nice camera work.

  • Thanks! I'm really having a blast with the Swift. :^)
