  • ROBERT PLANT!HAH

  • nadie canto ni cantara este tema como david, imposible,el cuando canta lo vive es puro feeling.

  • Too bad no one can sing like them no more when music and songs were well played ,,hard work man

  • I have to admit being a Dio fan since Rainbow ,and Dio does powerfully deliver this song at the same, or higher level as Coverdale, it depends on the person I was really referring to the California Jam "74 version as the pinnacle of Coverdale's voice for me. Also the studio version is awesome. Dio in the two live albums I have from '77 is also phenomenal! It's hard to compare. It depends on the mood you are in. Do we really have to compare Coverdale and Dio, or Pace and Powell? It's stupid.

  • dio...

  • class

  • coverdale,s the boy for this song.

  • aahhhh the charms of the snake. David has a ritchness and timbre to his voice that is unequalled. I love ronnie and glenns voice as well.................have seen them all many times. David was born to sing the blues

  • I was there also whitesnake were stunning that night Coverdale in his prime !

  • The intro they play in the beginning... is that from another song or what?

  • @deloreans I believe it was just arranged as like an intro for this song or something like that.

  • where is part 2???

  • Who played the guitar?

  • superbe!!

  • tämä on ylivoimaa! Maybe Dio can sing better, but it doesn`t get him to beat Mr Coverdale, never whith this song anyhow. He is the voice, still is, and if Jimmy Page was good, there is nothing to take anything from him, when accepting the fact that David is still the number one!

  • this is good...but is not as good as in the california jam (1974) with deep purple

  • is there Lord at the keyboard?

  • @chopantura yes.

  • is there Lord at the keyboard?

  • eat me

  • jimmy page aint got nothing on blackmooree...just my opinion..=finland

  • best version I've ever heard of this song. Coverdale at his best. Incredible intro by Jon Lord

  • the voice is same but Deep purple version is better

  • THIS IS VOICE OF A GOD

  • Why was this the last time they are playing it??

  • maybe thought it was time to play some more whitesnake songs.. although they did play mistreated in 2006, I think (in Japan) and a short version in 1997.

  • my fav song in the world, priceless voice and band shame they split.

  • Who's on drums? Is it Powell?

  • it's a great one but ronnie james dio sing with rainbow much much better then that. he got a fucking awesome voice.

  • Sorry meguto best performance ever in this song its from Coverdale in Deep Purple.

I can agree that NOW maybe Dio can sing it better..but there is no better performance in this song than the one in that festival in the 70!

  • @JJJBJJ you are absolutly wrong ! =)) i love david but he can never sing better then dio

  • @meguto

Sorry in my opinion in this song nothing is equal to David Coverdale. But i respect your opinion.

  • coverdale for prime minister of uk

  • yea you right, but, it's better when he was en Deep Purple

  • That is briliant. David's voice is amasing in this song......

  • Jon Lord is amazing and what a soulful intro.

  • @Edi4hka Micky Moody and of course Mel Galley....

  • great line up, true music

  • The piano intro is simply marvelous. Jon Lord is a genius.

  • If the gods were musicians, they would vote Coverdale for President ! Hammer !

  • that doesn't make any sense, but i think i know what you're trying to say

  • Wow.... just wow. Coverdale couldn't be more spectacular!

  • Who on a guitar?Santana?

  • mel galley with some respect please ,

from trapeze , and died in 2008 from cancer, so ... RIP

  • that doesn't sound like santana at all

  • I look in low quality, therefore it is difficult to make out. If you do not know that it is possible to confuse with Carlos santana

P.S. Sorry for my bad english

  • Man on the guitar is Micky Moody, one of the first Xhitesnake's guitarist

  • fucking awesome.

  • I was there - it was fantasic.

    RIP MEL.

  • Check Cozy Powell RIP on drums. All these guys are amazing musicians.

  • They got a different character between Coverdale and Dio. The both was a legend in this song

  • I'm going to cry...

    This is so f... beautiful...

Many people go around saying Dio's version is better, but I don't agree. Dio's performance is like he's telling a story. Coverdale's permance is like he's a part of a the story, the main character of it.

  • Alot of dio's songs are sung like a story as opposed to singin about emotions with emotion.

  • Nobody can do Mistreated as good as Coverdale in his prime. It is his song!

  • Right you are god damnit! And only Dave's...

  • @udz24

Sorry ..but listen to the 1977 Rainbow version where ronnie James dio served notice to the world that he was greatest rock vocalist to ever walk the face of this planet....David could never smoke enough opium to convince himself that he was anywhere close at anytime in his Robert Plant impersonating career, to Ronnie James Dio or Ian Gillan.

  • @timetodepop sorry Coverdale is the best blues rock singer in history. Dio is more suited for metal.

  • @udz24 dp can do better coz blackmore fuckin rocccksssssssssss :D

  • @udz24 Three words for you: Rainbow, Munich 1977. Coverdale can't hold a candle to Dio's delivery.

  • @udz24 Three words for you: Rainbow, Munich 1977. Coverdale can't hold a candle to Dio's delivery.

However, if you want the definitive version of 'Mistreated', any Glenn Hughes rendition should fit the bill - far superior vocalist to Coverdale.

  • @udz24 I can't agree, ronnie james dio when he sang it in the late 70s where pretty damn awsome aswell.

  • I love Moody and his hat!

  • Or get this concert on vcr from secondhand dealers, like e=bay. Some have even burnt it to dvd.

  • My Dad has a audio recording on tape from the BBC Radio 1 Friday Rock Show with Tommy Vance of this played at the Reading Festival 1980. Does anyone else have it and even better does anyone know where I can get a CD of it? or if it's been released.

  • Live in the heart of the city,Hammersmith odean '80 and '78.Spine tinglingly good performance, and so early on!!!Amazon'll have it for a fiver.

  • That Jon Lord's piano on the intro is so beautiful *_* Mel R.I.P. We'll never forget you...!

  • IG rocks too.so did Dio.

  • This is DC's song.Whether or not RB played it better is irrelevent. So long DC kick ass while singing this song with his current axeman.

  • bad guitarrist...

    blackmore is the best

  • Bad guitarist? That's a bit harsh!

    Do you play?

  • I play guitar, if you want to see video on my channel

    and your play?

  • That's immense guitar play Mel Galley was an awsome guitarist god rest his soul

    R.I.P Mel you total legend

  • i was there with my brother so hi to all the mothers that was there 25 years a go and its sad to hear about mel hes up there with cozy

  • this concert was great i have the whole fing on dvd and its brilliant...this version of mistreated is by far the best... coverdale sounds great!!!

  • ma dad had it on a vhs tape and just did that fing that u convert vhs to dvd...xD...but i reckon its possible 2 find it sumwhere on the net...

  • Try e-bay my friend, there is a bootleg DVD made from the original master video tape, very good quality!

Mel Galley, RIP - I'll never ever forget Donnie '83 - what a line up!

  • This live version is better than the whitesnake version of the cd live in the heart of the city

  • The 'gay guitarist' as refered to below unfortunately died a couple of months ago. I'm sure he was not gay....but regardless of that I'm pretty sure he could play better than you! Saw Cov and the gang back in the 80s at Colston Hall Bristol (with Bernie Marsden, rather than Mel Galley). He was in the bar with Jon Lord and they bought our beers. He won't remember...but I do. Had a good chat with them, as there were only the 4 of us it was easy to do. Good times!

  • I uploaded mistreated live in russia 97 performed by whitesnake

  • GREAT VERSION!!!

Much more power and melodic orientated than the original. I can't decide which version is better - Deep Purple, Whitesnake or Rainbow?

    5/5

P.S. Is that Jon Lord on keyboards and Ian Paice on drums?

  • Jon Lord on keyboards but Cozy Powell on drums...

  • It IS Jon Lord on keyboards but it's the late, great Cozy Powell on drums.

  • I uploaded mistreated live in russia 97 performed by whitesnake

  • da hora...

  • I had the good fortune to be at Donington that year (I won my ticket from a competition in the Loughborough Echo -the only year I couldn't afford to buy it -and I still have the ticket)

This song will always stick in my mind due to the awesome passion-soaked solo from our late friend Mel Galley. It was a great concert which I will always remember.

RIP Mel - another hero gone on to better things - let's hope you're up there Jamming with Cozy Powell.

  • RIP Mel Galley it's a big challenge to fill Ritchie Blacmore's shoes on his songs. You did a superb performance here of Mistreated.God Bless X

    Mel Galley 1948-2008

  • I'm holding one of his Homer Simpson picks in my hand right now... He gave it me in Meadowhall, but i didn't know he was dead, you just ruined my night! Fuck!

  • im sure whitesnake would have blown Dio off the stage...anyway stellar guitar work

  • okei..!maybe ronnie can sing about love. But it's not the first thing about him that comes to mind. peace

  • I was there, August '83, Whitesnake headlined while RJD's band was fourth on the bill. Although they played a great set Whitesnake blew them off the stage.

  • LOL, yeah I saw him at Irvine Meadows in 1984to which Dio headlined and Whitesnake opened.

I think blowing people off the stage most of the time is simply a matter of opinion.

  • oh..! That was rude..Ronnie james dio is about as sexy as a dead hobbit..sorry..He can sing HOLY DIVER,but nothing about love.. peace

  • Listen to, as long as its not about love from Magica, That is a fantastic love song, from dio, really strong.

  • Once again....you are an idiot

  • Chirp chirp!

  • agree. ronnie dio's version i prefer. having said that, im a bonnet fan ....might not be your cup of tea ! but didnt he do his version for blackmore ? and wasnt mr blackmore impressed ? would of been interesting to of heard it ?

  • @thecrucified1971 I agree, Dio is the best of the best

  • @thecrucified1971 haha you are such a noob..Coverdale and Ronnie are two of the best ever.. they are both legends..you seem to know nothing about vocals and creativity..now go listen to your lady gaga cd. cheers

  • @thecrucified1971 He is the original singer of this song dumbass and he sounds NOTHING like plant. Plant is not a good singer by any stretch of the imagination anyway. Coverdale kicks Dio's ass when it comes to blues rock. Look at the DP version if you want proof.

  • @thecrucified1971 .... crucified that's what rock fans should do to you! How childish is it to compare both. They are very different singers. Dio is a metal singer who sung a great METAL version of this song. Coverdale is a BLUES singer. This song is a blues song. You prefer Dio's version. OK. I personally think that no one can sing this song except Coverdale. You must be the kind of guy who thinks James Hetfield is actually a singer...

  • DC rocks!!

any1 knows where can i get a DVD of that show maybe?

  • IN COVERDALE WE TRUST

  • Cozy Powell playing Mistreated with Jon Lord AND Coverdale!

    It's so amazing!

    If only Bernie was there...

  • Only Jon Lord could have made an intro that equals the ingenious Blackmore intro... :D

Dio has probably the best hard rock voice, but Coverdale really touches me with his emotional warm voice... I wish Blackmore would do something with Coverdale or Dio (in fact anything with rock)!

  • coverdales version is better than dios, dios is good but coverdale has feeling in his voice

  • Not a patch on dio.

  • Didn't realise he'd even had a puncture!

  • DAVID IS THE BET OF THE BEST...

  • I have this on home video and it rocks!!!

I play that piano intro btw

  • BERNIE

    you are needed here ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

    five stars for YOU ¡¡¡

  • dude accpet the video response

  • Mel Galley's solos are simply superb!!!!

  • Yes, that's Coverdale's soul in that song's..

  • Why did they stop playing this song??

  • I uploaded mistreated live in russia 97 performed by whitesnake

  • who's that lead guitarist?

  • Mel Galley of Trapeze fame, plays the lead on this song, but Mickey Moody used to share the solos. Moody was an original member of the band. Galley does bear a passing resemblance to Bernie Marsden who he replaced.

  • thats mel galley!? wow, never seen him live b4 this.

  • I uploaded mistreated live in russia 97 performed by whitesnake

  • the guy with The Cowboy hat is Mickey Moody and the other guy with the black les paul is Mel Galley.

  • Whitesnake does not play mistreated these days, this video is great!

  • very nice !!!!!

  • I uploaded mistreated live in russia 97 performed by whitesnake

  • Great, great performance!!! thanks themule66 : )
