  • Ron Paul is the modern Reagan in so many ways. Just like Reagan he preaches small government, lower taxes, spending cuts etc, and just like Paul it took Reagan several attempts at the nomination in order to get recognized. The difference though is on the military, instead of flexing the military muscle to help end the cold war like Reagan did, Ron Paul wants to get us out of the middle east wars, and rightfully so.

  • @Godvernment And you're a douchenozzle ^^

  • The problem with Reagan is that once he got into office he GREW the government.

I worry that Paul is giving people the same empty promises.

  • That was amazing.

  • Fuck Ronald Reagan, he is a hypocrit liar. I always liked Ron Paul though...

  • @QuietusEpicus Fuck off...Reagan never did shit to you. One of the best Presidents this country ever had. And Ron Paul was a HUGE supporter of Reagan. In fact he was one of the original supporters of Reagan.

  • @williwo You had to live through LBJ, Nixon, Ford & Carter and experienced how messed up the country was in 1980 to really appreciate Ronald Reagan. When he was shot they gave him ice cold blood and damaged his brain, but Reagan still believed in WE THE PEOPLE. The mistakes blamed on Reagan can be laid at the door of Skull & Bones Globalist and Anti-American New World Order supporter George H.W. Bush. Reagan saved us from what we're going through now, which was starting in the 1970s.
  • @williwo Ron Paul himself during the debates was attacked for writing Reagan a letter of regret for supporting him, Ron Paul admitted to it. All the republicans trying to compare themselves to Reagan are pathetic. Ron Paul knows this too.

  • @QuietusEpicus So how come Ron Paul recently boasted of his supporting Reagan in one of his most recent commercials? The same commercial attacked Rick Perry for supporting Al Gore. At the end of the commercial, Ron Paul gave his approval.

  • @williwo Ron Paul is using his "Reagan ties" to gain a bit of points for his campaign. This is hypocritical of Paul, but he is a politician...

  • Join the REVOLUTION!

  • Reagan was strong-armed by special interest--all presidents throughout history have been. It was under his administration that I ever recall feeling safe in America. Now because we've stirred the hornet's nest around the world, it's a "future uncertain" status.

  • To bad foreclosures on farms and private property started their sharp upward trend under Reagan.

  • That should read Ron Paul sounds like Ronald Reagan. Just sayin

  • I thought Reagan was responsible for alot of the deregulation with large banks?

  • @Trox118 No, that was Barney Frank and Chris Dodd

  • There is only two People who can slip into the shoes Reagan took off, Those two are Ron Paul and/or Miss. Sara Pelin. But nothing will Change in America until the People Read and Understand NEHEMIAH 4:4-23 and PSALM 149:6-9 and then ACT. ,, God Bless, oldgrapeape

  • @oldgrapeape do not belittle Ron Paul or Ronald Reagan by comparing them to Sara Palin ! SHE CAN NOT FILL THOSE SHOES BUDDY !!

  • Did Ronald Reagan just said the things people wanted to hear, like any candidate for President?

  • @DutchsMaria no, he was an activist and a genius. Clinton took his fiscal credit though because his economy plans started kicking in while Clinton was president.

  • @PipersGrip oh I got it, like the homelessness on our streets ( by closing mental hospitals) and the great price we paid for starwars ( a total failure).

The Reagan administration's friendly policy towards Saddam Hussein During the Reagan years, the U.S. offered significant support to Iraq, including weapons components, military intelligence, and even some of the ingredients for manufacturing biological weapons like anthrax

  • @DutchsMaria What does that have to do with his fiscal policy? Can't deny it can you? Wanna talk about Clinton's reign and what he did wrong? I have a lot.

  • @PipersGrip Hey I am a fiscal conservative!

What was so fiscally conservative about the starwars program? Or his Military spending. I was behind the iron curtain in 1974...communism was already breaking down its own society!!!!!!!!!

  • Reagan hated the deficit he created but he was forced to with the cold war and the economy

  • @jbrack Regan would of never done half the things he did if he wasn't senile half of his presidency.

  • This is all bullshit, Reagan threw us further into dept, not to mention he made the military industrial complex bigger.

All this talk was to appeal to people, not what he believed in.

Many people think Reagan was our greatest president, ask them why and they'll tell you every media network is always praising him.

    I still don't see why.

  • You can't even spell debt.

    I still don't see why.

  • im sure you looked over your comment many times to make sure you got all your spelling right.

other than typos you seem to have no real argument. so i suggest you go elsewhere.

and btw dont bother responding because i know you will just ramble on and on like a child. have a good day.

  • it wasn't meant to be an argument. was just pointing it out. I'm having a great day.

  • You sir are correct Reagan changed he was responcable for the Japaneze flooding our auto market and destroying America's auto industry, Also when he took office after Jimmy Carter our National debt was one trillion when he left office it was at 4 trillion. The Ronald Reagan of the sixties was a differant man by the eighties. But I love these old video's.

  • Sorry for the misspelled words guess you can blame the American school sytem and my parents. But what I said was correct and thats what matters.

  • Debt not dept, go to school.

  • Great catch, by the way I am in school getting my doctorate in political science.

Do they even have schools in that shit hole

you live in? I doubt they even have running water in thailand.

I am not going to read your mindless reply, so go to sleep instead.

  • through us into further debt? How do you think Mr. Clinton got rid of it so easily? Not by taxation of the rich, He cut the defense spending which Reagan and Bush would have cut some to get rid of the deficit but by no where near how much clinton did. (More than half the military budget/personnel was cut). Reagan decreased inflation, interest rates, lowered taxes which didnt decrease tax revenue. He also talked aout the military industrial complex. The cold war was ended by his policies.

  • Increased government spending by the democratic house with high federal interest rates, (Reagan wanted to get rid of the uselss Dept. of Education and Dept. of Energy and many more government programs and useless spending that i can go into if needed but research will help the ignorant.), and Reagan had to up defense spending to break the Soviets.

  • This guy had potential...to bad his belief in liberty didn't run deep enough. He was still too much of a statist.

  • Some say Ronald Reagan was not as good as he sounded because the gov. grew and deficit went up when he was president.

Remember, the president has limited power under the Constitution. When Reagan ran for president half the Republicans in power didn't want him. when he became president, he had to work with a Democrat congress and an unfriendly press.

I think he did the best he could with what he had. If Ron Paul had become President he would have a hard time.

  • What,no love for the Telepromtper/Obama here?

  • Obama is going to put us all that think like Reagan in FEMA camps so he can build a bigger corporate empire for the corporations and the bankers.

  • am amazed that he pronounced "totalinarianism" properly...much have had a good acting coach...O...wait...i meant speech writer...wait, no, i meant acting coach...ummm...errrr....

  • Do you realize that Reagan wrote most of his speeches? especially those before he was President.

  • Reagan keeps looking down to read his speech. Those were not his words. Obviouly, he was reading the words of Ron Paul. President B. Hussein Obama speaks from his heart and never looks down. He is genuine and a true savior that is now trying to correct the wrongs of the racist past. Congress should outlaw the Republican Party and throw their leaders in prison for all the evil they have created in this world. Lets make the Democratic Party the only party of the USA. Imprison all who don't join.

  • if you're going to falsely present yourself as a democrat in order to make a silly statement like that, you need to be less obvious. lame joke.

  • No thanks i like my liberty. I do not want to live in Stalin's USSR.

  • Obama the "true savior"....hahahahahaha u fuckin idiot. let me guess you're a socialist that calls yourself a "liberal"

  • The last time that Reagan told the truth.

  • People who loved Reagan LOVED him. People who hated him HATED him. But, there is no questioning that he LOVED this country, and was willing to do whatever was required of him to preserve the IDEA of a free and sovereign country.

There is a delicate "salt" of prophecy in this speech - the "somewhere to run to" example of the Cuban. Where do we go when this experiment falls?

  • No no no, Ronald Reagan sounds like Ronald Reagan. I have respect for Ron Paul but he is no Gipper!

  • Obviously America is going down.... way down.... sad.

  • As far as social, domestic, and constitutional issues I think the two are VERY close to one another. Foreign policy is another story. Reagan knew that we were in the midst of a third World War, and it wasn't time to back down. If Ron Paul were in Reagan's position he would be more likely to practice detente than roll back.

  • This the first time of heard a Reagan speech and agreed with him.

But in the end, it all comes down to the administration itself, not the ideology it espouces - like the present one

  • Agreed.

  • WoW. What a great person he was.

  • Ronald Reagan Sounds Like Ron Paul?

Ron Paul Sounds Like Ronald Reagan!!!

    Ron Paul For President

  • Reagan wasn't a perfect man, but he was certainly better than G.W. Bush! This video tells me that a chance to improve things was thrown away in 1964 and that very few people learned from history.

Now it looks like another chance is being thrown away in 2008 with the "promotion" of John McCain. He's part of the problem called big government that inevitably bankrupts any country that doesn't put a stop to it.

  • God i miss this man...

  • Holy shit! Reagan blew down the house there!

People in the audience must have being getting chills through there bodies.

  • This is the same guy that started the War on Drugs? What the Hell?

  • I think it was Nixon that started the 'war on drugs'.... Ha, big surprise

  • I believe it was Democratic House Speaker Tip O'Neil that escalated the War on Drugs in 1986.

  • It was congress in general. A stupid idea

  • The Reagan brand of credit card conservatism is destined for the ash heap of history.

Governing by MASSIVE deficit spending (Reagan/Bush/Bush) is NOT leadership.

    Write in Ron Paul.

  • I remember this movie!

    What an actor..

  • Reagan was the end of an era. Bush Sr. was the beginningof our downfall.

  • I like Reagan in many aspects

    I admire T. Jefferson

    I LOVE RON PAUL

  • @LibertarianEurope its kinda like that with me, but more like this.

    I like Reagan

    I admire Ron Paul

    I love Thomas Jefferson

but both Reagan, and Paul are kinda like Jefferson in many ways.

  • @connorqb17 Wasnt Reagan involved alot in the deregulation of banks?

  • The amount of wealth produced during this seven year period was stupendous - some $30 trillion worth of goods and services. Again, it was a world record. Never before had so much wealth been produced during a comparable period. According to a recent study, net asset values - including stocks,

bonds and real estate - went up by more than $5 trillion between 1982 and 1989, an increase of roughly 50 percent.

  • Never before had so many jobs been created during a comparable time period. The new jobs covered the entire spectrum of work, and more than half of them paid more than $20,000 a year. As total employment grew to 119.5 million, the rate of unemployment fell to slightly over 5 percent, the lowest level in 15 years. Creation of wealth.

  • The two key measures that mark a depression or expansion are jobs and production. Let's look at the records that were set. Creation of jobs. From November 1982, when President Ronald Reagan's new economic program was beginning to take effect, to November 1989, 18.7 million new jobs were created. It was a world record:

  • Ronald Reagan knew that Ron Paul was a special man. Reagan's Charisma, and Ron Paul's understanding of the government would make the greatest politician ever to walk this planet we call earth.

  • We don't know whether historians will call it the Great Expansion of the 1980's or Reagan's Great Expansion, but we do know from official economic statistics that the seven year period from 1982 to 1989 was the greatest, consistent burst of economic activity ever seen in the U.S. In fact, it was the greatest economic expansion the world has ever seen - in any country, at any time.

  • Looks like Reagan lied about what he was gonna do.

  • Great clip, thank you. Keep up the good fight.

  • Reagan Lead from the heart, the mind and the passion a true child of god should how lives life on a principles higher then their own

  • Yes Clintons was worse because while Reagan lied for our survival from foreign invaders Clintons was only about self-serving gratification. Period. I don't think anyone's liberty benefited from Clintons giving her a money shot.

  • what a crock of sh...

  • I love how Clinton supporters like to trivialize Clintons blow job and follow up weeks of lying directly in the faces of the American media, having the gall to point his finger in our faces and while red in the face from shouting it was all party politics that everyone else was lying. It took knowing that his seed drenched the blue dress for him to finally find God as it were and cum clean. To bad the many other deaths he was responsible for could not have been as easily proved

  • The modern day Republican Party sets the bar WAY too low with all this Reagan worship.

Ron Paul, with his libertarian principles, would be a much better president than Reagan ever was.

    No more credit card "conservatives"!

Flag waving and massive deficit spending - Enough already!

  • This fundamental conflict between the First and Fourteenth Amendments, coupled with the boundless capacity of the Internet, calls for an exploration of solutions that re-evaluate the expansive protection of hate speech in existing constitutional precedent. Until a more proper balance is established between the private interest in free expression and the interest of the state in preventing hate crimes, the current protections given to hate speech will continue to be subject to debate.

  • While the First Amendment guarantees a freedom of speech, no right is absolute if it infringes on other rights guaranteed under the Constitution. It has been suggested that hate speech is inconsistent with the principle of equality established by the Fourteenth Amendment. If the Fourteenth Amendment is to embody an antidiscrimination principle, then anything that supports and further perpetuates racial inequality should be regulated.

  • In Reno v. ACLU, the Court held that "the interest in encouraging freedom of expression in a democratic society outweighs any theoretical but unproven benefit of censorship. This approach has its detractors, however; former Vice President Al Gore, among others, has contended that the existing judicial and regulatory structures are no longer appropriate in the context of the hate speech issue.

  • Furthermore, the Internet has served as an important recruitment tool for these individuals and groups.

The dangers regarding hate speech through the use of the Internet are evident. There is a fine line between the exchange of values and ideas and the perpetuation of hate in the form of degradation and violence. Despite this fine distinction, the Supreme Court has continued to protect online hate speech based on rights guaranteed under the First Amendment.

  • With the increasingly widespread use of the Internet, however, individuals and hate groups are able to promote hateful conduct and speech inexpensively and easily while simultaneously reinforcing each other's hateful convictions. The Internet also allows for the opportunity not only to post messages, but also to engage in conversation through chat rooms.

  • The features that make the Internet so unique have increasingly been manipulated to benefit the needs of those who spread hate-filled propaganda. Persons who display various kinds of hate are able to relay these feelings to others on newsgroups. Prior to the Internet, hate groups spread their propaganda through written materials, in a concerted effort to connect with others who shared the same beliefs.

  • The Internet has been and will continue to be a medium that allows individuals to interact, research, and conduct business with ease and speed. The vast majority of Americans do not need regulations to provide standards of appropriate or inappropriate behavior in cyberspace. There remains a small percentage of individuals, however, who need some type of regulation to prevent them from infringing upon other rights that individuals hold so dear.

  • hate speech is constitutional. don't get ridiculous.

  • No it really is not

  • It will then examine how this structure limits the government's ability to regulate hate speech on the Internet. This section will also explore other legal means that are being used to regulate hate speech. Finally, it will conclude by taking a look at alternative techniques that are being used to protect individuals from hate speech. Examining the Problem: The Need for Additional Regulation of Hateful Cyberspeech

  • Secondly, hate-filled speech may go beyond simply altering an individual's thoughts and may in fact lead to crimes of death and destruction arising from the exposure to such ideas. This Comment will attempt to illustrate the need for increased regulation of hate speech on the Internet by examining three facets of this debate. It will first examine existing First Amendment precedent dealing with freedom of expression issues generally.

  • The danger of free speech in cyberspace crossing over to become language that perpetuates hatred and provokes violence is a very real threat. This threat manifests itself in two primary forms. First, young Internet users who may be easily influenced are exposed to hate-filled ideals and values, often without any regulation or guidance.

  • I urge everyone seeing someone posting hate speech to Google department of homeland security and list who stated the hate speech along with which video it was posted. There is an anti-american boiler room operation which can been seen if you researched enough of the Reagan posting pages. Free speech is protected, hate speech is a crime that needs to be reported.

  • Funny... Wrong Paul has only 4 delegates. Romney and Giulianni were true conservatives. Same polocies as Regan. Lower taxes, offense on enemies, better security, better boarder security. Look at the other's speeches, very few differences from both Paul and the other republicans compared to Regan... Pual wants to leave Iraq which IS NOT CONSERVAYTIVE. why is he losing? Because real conservatives see through him.

  • As the national security of the United States has become increasingly important in recent months, the debate regarding the censorship of hate speech has again arisen. While many individuals remain wary of infringing upon First Amendment rights through the regulation of hate speech in cyberspace, some suggest that the expansive and pervasive nature of the Internet calls for such regulation.

  • Americans have been forced to question whether hate-filled online rhetoric is simply the harmless exercise of free speech or is a preventable catalyst of illegal conduct. The death and destruction caused by terrorists who listened to and adopted anti-American views are reminders that speech can often spur dangerous actions in response.

  • What would REAGAN do?

    Lower taxes

    Spend us into oblivion

    What would RON PAUL do?

    Abolish the income tax

    Stop massive deficit spending

    NO MORE CREDIT CARD PRESIDENTS!

  • If lowering taxes doesn't work, than why did we get an economic surplus when Regan was president? You need to learn history stupid. Besides, we're not in a resestion.

  • Low taxes are great! But the problem WAS (and is) SPENDING. There were NO surpluses during the 80's - lol. Much like the current administration, there was only massive deficit spending year after year. And the "liberal" congress even spent LESS than "conservative" Reagan asked for! The 80's is when the deficits started to get completely out of control.

Anybody can live like a king if they just max out all of their credit cards. Very unethical to leave the bill for the NEXT guy to pay off.

  • yes there was. There was also a stronger military. It's goood for our deffense from enemies. Besides... My entire family loved those times.

  • The federal deficits did not begin to shrink until 1993 (Bill Clinton's first year) - resulting in first surplus in many DECADES in 1998. The surpluses continued . . . 1999, 2000, 2001 - until George W. Bush took office.

I loved a lot of things in the 80's too! What does that have to do with anything? lol

Information on federal deficits (surpluses) is not that hard to find. Try Google (or a new school)!

    No more credit card presidents!

  • all the conservatives are out of the race. Paul is never going to win.. Huckabee won't win. McCain, not conservative, is going to win...:(

  • Along with this tremendous opportunity, however, comes the threat of abuse. With the increase in the number of people online, a significant percentage of the country's population is exposed to an increasing number of expressions of bigotry and hate that are readily available on the Internet. Following the tragic events which occurred in the United States on September 11, 2001, the threat of violence due to hate-based ideas and values has become a pressing reality.

  • Close. It's actually: Ron Paul Sounds Like Ronald Reagan.

Hopefully Romney will appoint Ron Paul Sec. of the Treasury.

  • In 1976 Ron Paul was one of only four republican to endorse Ronald Reagan for president. In 1978 Ronald Reagan campaigned for Ron Paul.

We need another Reagan, vote Ron Paul!

  • Same values and belief of constitution.

  • Today's Ron = Yesterday's Ron :)

  • Sounds like Ron? You betcha.

  • No doubts about who the Gipper would be supporting in this election. Ron Paul.

  • Honors for This Video:

    #33 - Top Rated (All Time) - News & Politics - Australia

  • The parallels between Ron and Ron are so pervasive. From being outcast by his own party, to the urgency of the message.

  • With respect to "the Gipper", who also had some very "libertarian" views, Ron Paul would be MUCH stronger in regard to spending and fiscal discipline. Reagan always asked for more $ than even the "liberal" congress actually spent. That would NOT happen with President Ron Paul. Sure, it would be nice if RP had some of Reagan's communication skills, but when you add it all up, Ron Paul's message is much stronger than Reagan's.

  • Where can I get a transcript of this?

  • Type everything you hear.

  • LOL!

  • That is hilarious. "Type everything you hear". Brilliant.

  • The sad truth is that his own party didn't even recognize his value until after the fact. They constantly worked against him. It looks like they are up to the same tactics with Ron Paul. We cannot wait for Washington to recognize a good leader. It is up to us. "Down with them all except for Ron Paul!"

  • I never knew that Fulbright was a fascist. Thanks for posting this.

    -jcr

  • Reagan was so damn right! Govt doesn't give freedom as it can only take it away!

  • Please donate on Jan 21, Martin Luther King day, this month's money bomb. Sign up at FreeAtLast2008. com. Donate at RonPaul2008. com. Huckabee & McCain must drop out soon, they're out of cash, we keep beating Rudy and got 2nd in Nevada but have a lot of work ahead of us as the media ignores us but with wars, inflation and loss of liberty we need Dr. Paul badly, so spread the word, show support with a bumbersticker yard sign and t-shirt, vote in the primaries and get involved with a local meetup.

  • Yes, Ron and Ronald are exactly the same on all of the issues. I guess we now know who the real republican is today. And the others claim to be like Ronald Reagan. Hah! They (Romney, Huckabee, Thompson, McCain and Gulliani) must be joking if they think they are true republicans and can hold a candle to Ron Paul.

  • WOW talk about edited he supported the action against communism :)

  • Ron Paul is the only true Republican in this race. The rest are RINO -- but unfortunately, as primary results are showing, so are the party members. I'm still with the GOP, but I'm getting pretty sick of it.

  • Everyone please add this video as a favorite, rate it and post a similar comment to this one so this video will be higher-profile!

  • Our dollar is now worth about $0.04, back then it was worth $0.45. And we don't have any gold in the treasury anymore.

  • And did you notice when Reagan died the press made sure they only played excerpts from within the first minute of this speech, they dared not share any other part, similar to Fox News editing out Ron Paul's answer to their smear "electibility" question in the January 10th debate when they rebroadcasted.

  • Very nice speech.

  • want the Reagan of 1964 as President 2008?

    Vote Ron Paul!

  • Ronald Reagan of 1964 for President 2008!

  • how about ron paul?

  • excellent

  • as much as Reagan wants to believe he is a small government, fiscal conservative, he really did wonders to advance the big government neocon movement.

  • Was this speech made yesterday?

  • more people need to see this video...

    wow things have gotten worse...

  • I don't think it was Reagan, it was more of his VP's influence...ex-CIA director George H.W. Bush

  • I love the quote "I had a place to escape to". If you have an Obama/Huckabee ticket. Where am I as a European going to escape?

USA is becoming the USSA (united socialist state of America).

  • Amen

  • Compare the current Republicans (GWB, Cheney, Rove, etc.) to Ronald Reagan. What a frightening contrast!

Ron Paul is the first Republican in YEARS that I'm truly FOR rather than "I'm against his opponents."

  • It's good time to have another Ron in the White House.

  • 147 Franklin D. Roosevelt (D) 132 Harry Truman (D) 122 Dwight D. Eisenhower (R) 174 John F. Kennedy (D) 126 Lyndon B. Johnson (D) 155 Richard M. Nixon (R) 121 Gerald Ford (R) 175 James E. Carter (D) 105 Ronald Reagan (R) 099 George HW Bush (R) 182 William J. Clinton (D) 091 George W. Bush (R) Bush.. LOWEST Reagan was a GREAT President. Who do you want? Rudy the Crossdresser?
  • Reagan and Paul have were friends and I think Reagan did what he could for a just America..

  • I remember the Iran/ Contra Senate hearings; And at the time I believed Ronny Ray-gun when he said that he was "out of the loop" but his V.P. daddy Bush wasn't; and either were most of the carry overs ( Cheney, Rumsfeld,Poindexter, etc.) from 41's administration.

He wasan actor, and he was playing "the President" for these Neo-cons.

  • RON PAUL!

Bring America back. I didn't agree with lots of what Ronald Regan (Iran Contra) did but his message here is perfect.

  • Reagan mentions Barry Golwater. Goldwater officially supports Ron Paul for 2008. Look it up.

  • youtubedotcom/watch?v=W7r27Az_Mns

  • Please explain why Ron Paul is a phony?

  • Hmm. A consistent record over 10 terms in congress. Ron a phony?

I'm glad they allow you internet access in the mental ward you're in. It provides entertainment for us.

  • Sorry, I meant Barry Goldwater jr.

    youtubedotcom/watch?v=W7r27Az_Mns

  • Goldwater jr does, his dad is dead.

    Hopefully, his movement isn't.

  • Only if you want a bigger government and wasteful spending :)

  • yah thats what i want it is a fine treat emoticon

  • Reagan and Paul are very different. Reagan was a warmonger who did nothing to stop the growth of government.

  • Reagan and Paul were very similar before Reagan became president. After he was elected, Reagan was shot and his tune changed... immensely.

  • Correct. And he was a dummy. A man of no particular intelligence. A low level Hollywood actor, the head of the actor's union that ratted on his membership for the FBI...

Ron Paul is a doctor, an economist, he's a well read guy, quite smart.

    Go Ron Go.

  • You moron jerk. Reagan was brilliant, read his papers. He was best president of 20th century. Listen to his brilliancde here.

  • Do you really thing Ronnie wrote his own speeches? lol...he read the teleprompter...the ones that had script on them composed by the GE brain trust that he sold himself to after he became persona non grata in Hollywood.
