  • oh yeahh

  • puro Rock & Blues Genial RORY me gusta mucho

  • Wow!! As a long time fan of Rory this is a real (pleasant) surprise--I've never seen or heard Rory do this number and man does he transform it in the best way possible!! What a master he was! A real talent. I miss you brother!!

  • i think rory just took erics crown

  • rory has no peers when it comes to rockin the blues

  • DE'ATH DUDE,,

  • Can one find the entire show elsewhere, given that Brenwhyte's account is blocked?

  • HEY! NeilsinMadela08

What did you say! How would you like to go to the hospital, punk! If you compare this to Freddie King you are one gay panzi ass puss. You need a good beating, Got that punk!

  • um this blows EC away.

  • please watch "Eric Clapton I'm Tore Down Live TV Recording" and if come back and tell me rorys version is better or he has more soul than clapton then i know you didnt watch it all

  • @NeilsinMandela08 Well, since there's no measuring unit for "soulful playing" this is bound to be purely subjective. Apart from that crucial fact, the two versions are actually fairly different - Eric's rendition has a more basic feel to it while Rory opted for a rockier approach - so a direct comparison is rather pointless. Surely both tried to evoke an emotional reaction from the audience, every musician does. So let's not argue about taste and turn this into a competition.

  • Hopefully this wasn't a tribute to Freddie King as it would be an insult. Little bit "Hendrixy" but bottom line.....it fucking sucks and so does he....pathetic!

  • @ebay9302 People please? Don't kick this douche while he's down! The poor gimp has just sicked up all over himself in public and his fly's open. Now we've all been there and while we may not have screwed the pooch six ways like this dick, it's important that we recognise that sometimes we need to make complete asses of ourselves, just to keep keeping on. Let this be punishment enough for ebay9302 because Jesus, would ya wanna be known as the orifice that posted this?

  • Clapton still has dreams that one day he'll have as much soul as Rory Gallagher.

  • Does Anyone know of a tab for guitar for this tune, especially the opening riff?

    TX

    Stomper

  • @stomper1999 Listen to the opening of Green River by Creedence Clearwater Revival it's slightly similar but slower which might be easier to get by ear.For the opening riff, hit the open E Then slide the 3rd fret of the G to the 4th Fret and the 2nd fret of the B to the 3rd at the same time. Then do the same but instead of E do it in A,Then it's like a little E minor pentatonic lick down the scale in the open position.Hope that helps,If I find a tab I'll send it to you.

  • Many thanks SRV1 !

    Stomper

  • This music reminds me of my Dad! He loves Rory Gallagher!

  • This is a new track for me............Brilliant, thanks :-)

Rod de`Ath and Gery Macavoy ought to re-form and tour with???????????????erm, perhaps not!

Best Trio ever........even better than Budgie!

I can't wait to wish Rick Claptrap R.I.P. though, can't stand his "plastic" blues.

  • Sounds like CCR man, love it!!!!!!

  • That's one hell of a "first gig" isn't it?

  • Rory's opening riff just sends chills down my spine. Everyone else's version of this song just seems so bland in comparison.

  • clapton who

  • You talk about the drummer, You talk about the guitarist, But that Bass Player HE's THE BEST!!!

  • haha different fotage at 2.42 note the white Telecaster

  • 2 dislikes are you fucking kidding me die mother fuckers

  • Awesome.

  • So good it hurts. But it's a good hurt.

  • i like how you can tell rory actually wore his guitar down by these vids because the later you go the more beat up it is, he didnt try it it happend and thats cooler than anything the custom shop can offer

  • Jesus H. Fucking CHRIST that is one shit hot performance. As for why he's not in the top 100?? Puhleez! It's not about talent & ability, it's a commercial list, heavily weighted in favour of the charts, for phuck's sake!

  • @dermotwalker He's not in that list cos he's in a list of his own looking down on the 100 less gifted. Eric Clapton, as good a technician as he is, could never get this "edgy". Utter genius. RIP Rory.

  • @22Tegga I'll allow you to agree with me.

  • @22Tegga Agreed. Rory had the "feel" edge way over that of Clapton. RIP indeed.

  • Great!

  • Great stuff! One thing that bugs me though; did his worn out strat suddenly changed into a telecaster at 2.40??

  • @Hector3251 yo hector u hit on the sad but true world of the blues player, its all garnered thru hard knocks hard work done by playin for the people corp pricks cant grasp. jus spread the love for those gone for they are what its all about they wouldnt have it any other way

  • kickass hard hittinwhiteboy blue, check out johhny winter gettin all tore down

  • Damnit.... Gallagher was scary good. I never saw this before.... wow

  • Damnit.... Gallagher was scary good. I never saw this before.... wow

  • lol 2:39 shirt changes colour and strat changes to tele

  • ERIC CLAPTON CAN KISS BOTH CHEEKS OF MY ARSE. Freddie king is loving this

  • @Hector3251 couldn't agree more when i first heard it i didn't realise it was the same freddie king song

  • the best.

  • I was at this gig all those years ago. Absolute legend, burned into the memory. They "Tore Down" this wonderful hall too in the late eighties.

  • ive been to several videos now where there is one lone boomerang pressing the dislike button.i would'nt normally mind but this is rory gallagher and he's special,so fuff off

  • @missatomickitten that guy bugs me, Rory was Rory, you know what to expect, you expect Rory to give you his best, he always did. I am grateful to all the posters and other Rory fans.

  • what a player!....screeching every note possible out of that legendary strat. It was always a great gig anytime any place with Rory...he always gave everything he had and with enough energy to power a small town!!!!

  • This changes everything on how I see Eric. This is way more my style.

  • @medic357 I just had to argue with someone how Clapton's overrated and Rory blew him away!

  • @medic357 Cats like Eric & Jimi always said Rory was the best!!! A real student of the Blues!

  • @medic357 damn right i should Rory would kick his ass

  • saw him in 1980, Brilliant concert.

  • What a treat! So good to see Rory taking a walk in the park towards the end of this vid. Makes you think somehow he might just have 'human' after all. To me he'll always be a god. RIP RG!

  • classic Gallagher.....truly magic.

  • Rory, as great as ever....

  • Wonderful post

    Thanks for sharing

  • Thank you for posting this !!!!!!!!!!!

  • awwwww...sad end. I got to meet this great when they rolled into Boise Id. He was opening for Rush during their "Signals" tour. I had a backstage pass and was there from 2pm until end. Got to greet him and the band like I said, he gave my son a coke! R I P Rory we love U!

  • If you're into electric blues, you just can't past the fact that Rory was simply the best that ever was. He really makes everyone else look and sound boring. That's just the way I see it.

  • @Gallagherfreak100 I would be inclined to agree with you on that

  • In the same league as winters, and hendrix, srv

  • love this video great to see it in excellent quality,

  • Rory we all miss you !

  • Truly one of the greatest

  • That's Rory !!

  • This is smokin, I saw him several times in the late 60's or early seventies, at the Ballroom in downtown Atlanta. It was always incredible.

  • I saw Rory Gallagher in '91, still remember that he didn't bring the Strat with him and walked to the stage very briskly, just like the same way he does in the last of this video. I'm overwhelmed with beloved memory as watching it.... RIP.

  • hell yes!!!

  • top class, this was rod de ath's first gig with rory, lou martin joined a few weeks later? he and rod were in a band toghter and shared aflat with gerry mc avoy thats how they all met

  • with one of greatest drummer of this times: Mister ROD DE ATH!

  • @wwhk33 Some of his double bass drumming work is amazing-- though Rory and Gerry were also at the top of their game too..

  • Great video!!!

  • the only nr.1

  • Great, but this gig belongs to 1972.
