if the whole thing is a movie clip (meaning the animation inside of it) you wont see it until you hit test movie, or you can make the whole thing a graphic and it will play automatically (if you add how many frames are in the graphic)

Select all the parts of the cartoon head. Copy them. Paste them onto a new layer. Delete all other layers beside the new layers. Convert the pasted parts on the new layer into a movie clip. Profit.

I have no idea what legend is. I'd suggest looking for tutorials in a language you can understand more, hopefully that will help.

Well, best thing to do is, like give guide layer and put the background or highlight the head and right click-click distribute to layers.

if that fails, try and do everything on the same layer. Another simple way will be to insert layer and trace over the original head and then do it the way u did before which might work...im not quite sure

its weird I drew the face then the shadow and when I make a rectangle for the BG the shadow isn't covered... but the face does! help?

It's all about layers. The list of layers to the left of the timeline is in an order. If you put a rectangle on the top layer, the rectangle will be on top of everything else on the stage, if they are on layers underneath.

okay, on the timeline it has all the layers. drag the BG layer under/over (bascially to the oppposite position from where it originally was) and it might help u.

It's basically a mistake in the timeline. Flash sometimes ends up with errors. Cuz flash is very manual, you will have to make sure you have evrything in order. Just start again and make sure you done everyithng correctly. if this doesn't work, PM me and tell me exaclty what happened!

You're not following the tutorial properly if you encounter these errors. You are adding the ActionScript (rollover) to something which cannot be rolled over (i.e. not a button). Make sure you add the code to the button, like in the video.

its because if u symbol can have keyframes in it, then when u drag that symbol onto the stage it will only show as one frame on the timeline but really it can be animated because of all the keyframes in the symbol omfg

With the Actionscript: Where do you put the keyframe for it? I put it into the layer "Actionscript" and nuttin happened, same problem when I added a keyframe to the pupils, also with gotoanplay :S

The head is all one big movie clip. When I double click into it, it shows the layers that make up the head (the eyes, pupils, etc). When I press Scene 1 it goes back to the top scene, which is the container movie clip.
