@shawnlaurin not enough oxygen for the helicopter to fly all the way up because a helicopter uses propellers to push air. you only have to go down just enough to the point a where a helicopter can pick you up.

@Dubsteppa01 ya u need money for the air fare, the oxygen, the gear (ladders, gear etc), and guides. It ain't cheap considering you are risking your life. Climbing Everest is a lot more dangerous than going to afghanistan. About 5% of climbers die.

Nice video. Rex was the youngest person to summit everest at that time, however, now Jordan Romero at aged 13 has summitted everest. I think this new record will stand till at least the end of this century.

The team I was with were not so please because I would take fame awasy by being so young. Plus there was no age in the book at that time to note.

Hmmn 21 thats infact the best age to do physical challenges, so i cant see the fantastic issue in doing this. I have myself climbed Mount Everest backwards, now that was a challenge i can promise that. It was back in 1994. The name i used that time was David Russel.

Yes, 21 is a great age for a physical challenge, but Everest isn't just a physical challenge. I haven't done much expedition climbing myself, but I'd assume to safely attempt something like this would take many many years of preparation and learning, not to mention the acquisition of climbing experience. To gain these skills would be hard to do by age 21. Congradulations Rex, job well done!
