If they still had those type of helmets today, there wouldn't have been as much helmet to helmet hitting since a players head was more exposed with the old helmets. Now these rule changes have made the game more sissified where if you just nick a guy above the shoulders, it's a 15 yard penalty. The hitting showed in this super bowl was awesome, tho some of it illegal today with the head slapping and spearing tackles. I miss the old football, lol.
@calimar28 I tried the colts defense no luck. I do belive it was used in other NFL games in the early 70's as well, i'm sure of it. it's frustrating. someone out there knows...
@knight04061965 Your right, I have heard it used before in other NFL film videos. Sam Spence did most of the NFL music back then. This was really the transition year...70 and 71. Before this (in the 60's) his music was very dramatic, and was something like what you would hear in the old crime movies. This more "insperational music" would be the gold standard in NFL films.
I agree , the track is phenomenal. I mean if you put it as a backdrop to me eating a pizza, I probably come across as triumphant,,, heroic. But I'll admit, it's much more appropriate when played to Mike Curtis.....
Glad you liked it, that is the correct word.....epic. SB III and VI where also up there but his one is apart.Wish you could c it in a large screen. The music, the wording along with the close ups and hollering of the players, an emotional ride. In the 1st part of the video ( not shown int his clip ) Remember the scene ending in: "But their hopes where shattered.... on the rocks of the Colt defense". Then the music, Mike Curtis etc......the finest moment in NFL Fims IMO.

@tchaser5858 I still cringe every time I see a defender spear a receiver with a helmet to helmet collision. That's no way to tackle.

This is still the best of the Super Bowl highlights. The ironic part of all of this is the game was lousy.

The Music at 4:00 thru 4:50 I love it! I'm still trying to find out what the name of the song is, and remains elusive to me. Anyone know???

@knight04061965 They use the song 2 times in this film to highlight the Colt defense. To me, the song is "the theme from the Colt defense".

The ending here is classic. This is what all of us as boys imagined our gridiron dreams to be like.
Suoerbowl V, has to be one of the most underrated games ever.
