I wish I could be as good as you at the accordion, but it's impossible for me to play the bass buttons and piano keys at the same time, I can't do two completely different things with my hands at the same time. :( Did you ever have that problem when you first began learning?

@sjheiss I just recently started playing, get beginner accordion books, the easy songs help a lot with the coordinating. Hopefully you can read music! Most people nowadays can't and it's so sad.

@darkessie I've tried playing Mary had a Little Lamb, which has just a simple, 3-note oompah sound on t he bass, and I can't even do that. But yes, I can read sheet music, it's very easy; I don't know why people can't learn to. :P

@sjheiss I bought my piano accordion this February, and I too had problems with playing the bass and piano sides at the same time. My suggestion is that you start taking classes, it's the best way of learning. I made a LOT of progress already during the first class and I didn't even remember how to read notes (I had somehow forgotten). The best tip I can give you is that you look up some easy sheets and play through them really slow, even if you get the notes wrong. It helped me a lot.

@WaspCarcass Thanks for the advice, but unfortunately my rental ended in April, and I can't get a new one. :( But if I ever get an accordion again, I'll probably take classes, which might help.

It's also tuned up to 450.0

(I'm assuming you own a Roland and know what I'm talking about)

"Set 40 (V-Set)" = ? I have a roland Fr-3s so it is probably not the same.. you press the "set" and then?...I know how o detune the musette to "Scottish", "It's also tuned up to 450.0" ? Do you mean that you have tuned the Master tune? Mine is set to 40.0

When you press the one of the "Set" button

(on the FR-7, they're located under the "Balance" knob), the menu displays different styles of accordions, like

"1-Concerto, 2-Classical, 3-Jazz, 4-"I"Folk, etc." I had mine set to the 40th one, called the "V-Set".

And your master tune is set to 40.0? Mine is normally set at 440.0, so I don't really know how to help you there, since it seem the FR-3 and FR-7 have different tuning scales :S
