@modex20 The 100 does not have the rail or the adjustable rear sight. As far as I know there isnt a 96? There is a 92 and 99 that is the 9mm. The B just stands for the finish which is blued

@NC77583 Some states don't require a waiting period, but it just depends on that states laws, here in arkansas there is no wait. Places like New York and California have a week or so waiting period

The ONLY downside to the Academy Sports version is the plastic grips. Get the gun, then immediately order the Hogue grips. You'll LOVE it! Big grip - but feels great! Night & day difference from the plastic.
anything looks mean compared to a .22LR. better comparison would have been a 9mm round. As for the pistol, I have put well over 500 rnds through my PT101 .40, and not one jam provided you use GOOD ammunition. Excellent pistols for the price. I have 5 Taurus pistols now.

@313bigworm That one is for a 'Pistol Lanyard'. Its basically a coiled cable that clips on to that ring to keep you from being seperated from your sidearm

Man, that is a great review. I went to academy and i held it. Great weight. I was doing some further research and found that this is the one I am going to go with. i went to academy like 2 months ago though, I hope the price hasn't gone up yet.
@lilrichyz28 I went by a few weeks ago and they still had it. From talking to the staff though it is a regional promotion. The ended up with a bulk of the PT101 this past christmas and only sold half of what Academy Sports purchased. The sale was to cut their inventory that they massed. If your local store has raised the price, call other Academy stores near your store (100 miles) and see if they have the sale price. If so they have to match it.
I'm Federal Highway Cop in Brazil for the last 7 yeras, I stay with this gun 24h a day, is the standard gun for cops in Brazil, amazing gun,thousands of rounds on training and it never fail. the bad point goes to weight and size, it is very heavy, and big, unless you like to use very large shirts it is not a good idea use it undercover. Because of that i'm buying the new 840 to use on off days, and as a backup gun on duty days. But if you don't mind this, is still a hell of a gun.
Bought mine last week - put 500 rounds through it and it shoots like a dream. I had not one single problem with the gun jamming or malfunctioning. I did have to sight it in a bit - but this is normal. I agree with you...this is one hell of a firearm and I look forward to taking it out on the range as much as possible! Safe shooting, y'all!

From what I hear, Taurus is known for making duplicates of other brands and making improvements or additions on them. I haven't gotten the chance to shoot it yet and I can't wait to do it.

Once I slapped in the 16 shot mag and said quietly to myself "fire in the hole" I squeezed off my first round. "BOOOM" I knew right away I got my moneys worth out of this weapon. Finishing off 75 rounds I was convinced I made the right decision. Took her home and cleaned her out and reloaded both mags and put her to bed. Budget home protection at its finest. Shun the non-Taurus believers
