thinking about getting the fender rumble 60. if you could tell me any pros or cons to it, it would be greatly appreciated. or anything i would need to know, great playing btw man. please respond.
@FlyingGrapes22 great amp. Pros: Good bundle, great tone (especially on a wood floor) very punchy, yet smooth and solid. Cons: it's only 60 watts, won't hold up with half stacks and dumb asses who dime their 5150s. If I still played I would've kept it. Great amp, if you can grab one, scoop it up. The only other amp I liked was a Trace Elliot 65 watt, good luck finding one of those
im a guitarist so i dont know if u suck or if ur good bt u seem pretty good to me im thinking of buying this thing cuz i want a bass, bt nice review dude
@TheMetalhead804 thanx. I'll never proclaim to be a professional musician, just a guy who likes playing. For some reason people think that by posting videos, it gives off this vibe that I think I'm an expert or better than others, which couldn't be further from the truth. I have since sold this bass, but it was a mighty warrior for me when I gigged with it
@TheMetalhead804 Bass was in fine working order with very little cosmetic damage. I don't play bass at all since the band broke up, just moving along in life. I still play guitar when I can, but my priorities have shifted, now I go to school full time and work full time, that's where my time goes
are monster cables different than regular guitar cables? My friend has a bass that has a bigger port than regular bass guitars and he needs a cable for it. I need to pick one up so i need to know what kind of cable to get. If someone can answer me than that would be great. thanks
@ABandGeeek I have both the right angle and straight, both are great. Honestly love the monster cables, going back to a cheaper cable for me means cheapening my sound. Research them, there's 3 levels of cables, including a "studio" one which is the best. Also research planet waves, slightly more affordable.
@wyldweasil thanks for your help, i've been looking into the monster cable and they seem like they sound great! im gonna do some researching, thanks again =)
@ABandGeeek Cables have a minor effect if any at all on your tone. Waste your money on expensive ones if you want but I get the standard monsters just because they have lifetime warranty.
@treetarded actually I did a side by side test with one of my band mates, the pro and the standards, the pros had better clarity, not that the standards were crap, they still are better than most generic cables, but there are differences and intricacies, some you have to be a great audiophile to pick up on. I've had one of my monster cables more than 10 years now, only one of the others broke out of the 4 Monster pro cables I've owned. They are worth it.
u are an amazing metal bassist. i cant really call myself one but i started like 8 months ago im playing lamb of god shit so im doin ok. u got any tips? how long u been playin?
That funny because at times I can't really call myself a bassist either! LOL. Just practice certain things you like. One of the things that got my right hand up to speed was jamming along to fear Factory cds, I don't do that workout as much as I used to but every now and then I throw it on to remind myself of why i started doing it.
well why cant u call urself a bassist? i was saying that im not that good yet but im doin good for how long ive been playing. but how long have u been playing?
I'm kinda joking around. The thing is, I don't take myself as a serious player, I know a lot of people have the common misconception that once they post a video of them playing on youtube, they want people to worship the ground they shred on, but with me, it couldn't be further from the truth. I'm just a laid back guy who plays whatever he wants to play. Keep up your chops and have fun, because once it's fun, you'll lose passion for the music, and you don't want that
sick im getting a stiletto i cant wait ive been playing guitar for 5 years now and i want to try somthing diff so i decided to get this i wanted a good quility bass and im left handed and since they make the 5 string stilleto in a lefty modle i decided to get it do you think this was a good disicion?
I'm just saying it's hard to for me to tell you what fits in your hands, try a bunch of stuff out if you can. I know it's really hard as a lefty to do that, considering you probably have a limited selection at stores near you, but just see what's available in your price range. Besides, Schecter isn't paying me to sell their product, if they were I def would've suggested it
im a lefty also and just orderd the same bass!!!!!!! ive been playin guitar for 4 years i play a jackson dinky dk2l in transparent red. leme kno what u think of the bass
It's a good bass, I've never had a problem with it live, it always worked, even after it took a dive neck first into someone's driveway, it still held up. You can really hear the tone of the wood in this one, kinda unique for it's price. That Jackson you have, is that with the maple neck?
it is one of the pro series guitars so its an alder body with the floyd rose tremolo. and also a maple neck and rosewood finger board. if u look up the dinky dk2l on jacksons website u will see it
yeah I've been there. Everytime a band breaks up I'm in I just can't handle it, last thing i was in i worked really hard and was on top of my game playing wise, and then out of nowhere, drummer quits the band, 3 days before a show! I've been playing a lot more recently and am thinking of throwing some new stuff together soon, just wait.
Yeah I'm working on like 2 different things, my metal stuff, and I've been messing around with this rock stuff, so we'll see what happens. I'm hoping to find a great balance between to of them
I dunno about that. To say and entire brand doesn't have problems is a pretty bold statement. Every brand has problems at some point. I had an F205 that never sounded right, at the same time I have an F204 that sounds awesome, but after 10 years the tuners could use some replacing. I haven't had any problems with the schecters I own
Actually these basses to have problems with fret buzz in the low frets. The nut is cut really low. It's a pretty easy fix if you don't like it. I play with a light touch, so it doesn't bother me at all.
try em both out, whatever one feels more comfortable to you. I can't tell you what feels good to you, this feels good to me for what it is, but I've played other basses that have felt great compared to this, and some that felt like crap compared to this. It's all your preference
You seem like an asshole for no reason with the whole "DGAF" attitude but I like your riffs anyway. You dont have to care about what other people say or think but when you openly talk about how much you dont care you just sound really stupid
I have this attitude for a reason. People come watch my videos like they are god's gift to the internet and tell me "I suck" constantly, then I check their youtube profile and they don't have any videos up of them playing, so it really sickens me to have to constantly be told I'm worst than someone, when they themselves have nothing to back it up. If it makes me an asshole, don't watch my videos.
No it does mean that, you are passing judgement on someone which means at some point you deemed fit that you yourself are a self appointed Judge, meaning you feel a superiority to someone else. Either way it's a really shitty attitude to have, and it's not exactly like Youtube started on this video, so people don't have to stick around to thumb in a negative opinion. I certainly ewas not looking for them, but yet people seem to think i want them.
Let me put a squash to this shit right now. My strings are not "too loose". If you notice in all my videos, the slack of my strings has a lot to do with the way I play. I strike pretty damn hard. If my strings were loose or played out, I'd change them.
Do you use standard gauge strings? And I'm guessing this is drop tuned seeing as you're always at least a step down, the strings just sounds kinda loose to me.
they don't feel that loose. I'm using the Daddario Xl 170-5 SL set. I kind of don't have a choice, it's really the only set of strings that will work with the super long 35" scale.
Cool bass, to be honest though what I plan on getting is the stiletto custom 5 bass. I know the studio is a neck tthru, but mainly I prefer the six bolt on. It allows me still to reach the upper frets and can easily adjust the action with no problem. Also, the finish for the vampyre red sain beats it for me.
I hear ya, honestly i hadn't had a problem reaching the upper frets, but I really don't go there that often. I was considering the Vampyre red until I found out i could actually get this one. I had to special order it, all any store around me had was the Honey satin one, and i wasn't to crazy about gold hardware
features. The studio is probably top of the line, features a 3 band EQ, but no fancy clear coat finish, the rest are somewhat similar, but with differences in the pickups, neck joint and others, check the schecter website and compare
You just related it to your Squire, thus that makes this reply invaid. Anyone who buys a Squire is a retard. lol Did you think maybe it's not the bass, but his rig or eq that needs a little tweaking? Schecter basses are kick ass and so is metal. Go take your squire and play pussy classic rock bullshit that I've heard so many times over.
Yes. It's actually pretty sad. I can't believe some of the comments and emails I get from certain people out there. I've always adhered to the "don't like it, change the channel" policy, rather than just sit there and crab and moan about it. That's actually kind of pathetic that people do that.
I make these vids because they've honestly helped people. I know I am def not the best player in the world, but I'm just trying to help.
Trust me, your helping, but i had a couple of question i was looking to ask you about schecter guitars, if i could email them that would be great, let me know.
not really, the Fender sounds drastically different from them all, the F204 has more punch than all of them, the hellraiser has no mid control so i can't cut them, so in all fairness, they don't.
hey mate i was out shopping today with my guitarist and we came across a store basicly flooded with schector :D. anyway im trying 2 debate wheater the get this 5 string, or the fernandes gravity 5 string. i mainly play heavy metal, with the occasional rock, jazz, whatever.
i really liekd the look and feel of this guitar [was hot!] so will probz end up getting it, but will it be ok to use for more rock type songs like chilli peppers and stuff?
yeah do whatever you want with it. I've been wanting to try out a Fernandes Gravity Deluxe but can't find any in stores by me. I'd still lean towards this bass over the fernandes because in my mind there's no way the fernandes has a more welcoming neck
I don't really consider it that punchy, i was going for more of a "smooth" soft sound that's not real pick heavy. I have the hellraiser bass, and I actually prefer this one over that, because this one is weighted better, and the shape is friendlier as well.
any new videos of you with this bass? this is top of my list for "new-bass" :) ... in the video you say that you went through a few bad ones before you got to your current.. do you mean you went through other model guitars, or had to try a few stiletto studio 5's? what problems should I watch out for? thanks for the vid!
I hadn't really thought of making any new ones, There is some footage of me performing live with this bass back in august but we are currently in a legal battle with the promoter for the footage.
It was kind of a little bit of both, I tried out a few honey satin models that didn't look right, and the necks were a little wierd, but that's probably because they were on the wall in Guitar center. I tried out quite a few models, i almost went with an Ibanez and ltds, but they had no low end punch.
in this video no. I have started messing around in my spare time outside of the band with the "Type O Negative sound" When I get a fair representation and my computer fixed I'm hoping to make a new video for just that.
daddarios are great strings. amp wise it's really your preference. The low end really comes out more if you give it more breathing room. That's why i prefer cabs that are ported to have some room for the air to pop out. If ampeg is you thing, cab wise I would recommend the 610HLF, but cabs are more of an issue of how much room you have in your vehicle to transport it. That's why i rock a Carvin 4x10
Damn youve got some pick skills man. Ive been thinkin of a Schecter for a while for when I use a pick, youve made my decision a little easier. How long you been playin by the way?
been playing since 97, but I'm still learning little things here and there. I'm trying to put more finger style and tapping into my playing, that is if my band implements it into our songs
yeah, it was an off day, i didn't really put a lot of thought into this video and I goofed it up here and there. It's not half as bad as 2cnd hellraiser guitar video. I should make a video of out-takes
well i couldnt quite come up with the money so instead i bought a stiletto custom 5...no to much of a difference except it isnt neck thru and the bridge is a little different but i love it!!
thanks for reviewing this bass man, i'm really looking into getting it. great bass playing too, i checked out your band it's great.. but is the bass good for fingerpicking? i mainly use my fingers not a pick, so does it play well with them? and would i be better off getting the 4 string for slapping or is the 5 string decent for slapping? thanks
Thanx, mainly I use the pick just because it's more comfortable for me. The bass in general feels welcoming for all styles I don't think it'll be much of a problem, I've been trying to incorporate more slapping into my playing and it felt good when i did it in the video.
Tuned low to high GCGCF In the video I kept the factory strings on which I believe are 45-130 EXP coated. They felt good and not too flappy, I'll be changing to EXL 160-5 set that's 50-135 before my next show in August
Nice, I looked at Schecters for a long time before I found my ATK, if I never got it, I would most likely have a stiletto. And I have a Rumble 60 too, great arent they?
That's up to you, I can't tell you how to spend your money or what your personal preference is, personally I like this one over the hellraiser. I'd say try both out but one of the big problems I ran into was that you couldn't find this color in any store locally. Trust me, I looked, all they had was that honey satin with the gold hardware, i just wasn't feeling that color.
thinking about getting the fender rumble 60. if you could tell me any pros or cons to it, it would be greatly appreciated. or anything i would need to know, great playing btw man. please respond.

But the similarities i hear is the dryness of the bass tone.
DarkplaceAssistant 3 years ago
I don't like Pick noise in my sound. I like to keep it flat, like it sits in the mix.
wyldweasil 3 years ago
Ahhh.. So you're the one who participated in that shitty Misfits cover song. LOL I'd be pretty embarassed, too.

hey sweet bass

hey mate i was out shopping today with my guitarist and we came across a store basicly flooded with schector :D. anyway im trying 2 debate wheater the get this 5 string, or the fernandes gravity 5 string. i mainly play heavy metal, with the occasional rock, jazz, whatever.
i really liekd the look and feel of this guitar [was hot!] so will probz end up getting it, but will it be ok to use for more rock type songs like chilli peppers and stuff?
samsaccountyea 3 years ago
yeah do whatever you want with it. I've been wanting to try out a Fernandes Gravity Deluxe but can't find any in stores by me. I'd still lean towards this bass over the fernandes because in my mind there's no way the fernandes has a more welcoming neck
wyldweasil 3 years ago
how do you get that punchy sound and shuld i getthis bass or the stiletto elite 4 or the stiletti custom 4??? or the hell raiser?
eiphonebassplayer 3 years ago
I don't really consider it that punchy, i was going for more of a "smooth" soft sound that's not real pick heavy. I have the hellraiser bass, and I actually prefer this one over that, because this one is weighted better, and the shape is friendlier as well.
wyldweasil 3 years ago
any new videos of you with this bass? this is top of my list for "new-bass" :) ... in the video you say that you went through a few bad ones before you got to your current.. do you mean you went through other model guitars, or had to try a few stiletto studio 5's? what problems should I watch out for? thanks for the vid!
zaadicus 3 years ago
I hadn't really thought of making any new ones, There is some footage of me performing live with this bass back in august but we are currently in a legal battle with the promoter for the footage.
It was kind of a little bit of both, I tried out a few honey satin models that didn't look right, and the necks were a little wierd, but that's probably because they were on the wall in Guitar center. I tried out quite a few models, i almost went with an Ibanez and ltds, but they had no low end punch.

nice job!dude do you use any effects?
metalbrain665 3 years ago
in this video no. I have started messing around in my spare time outside of the band with the "Type O Negative sound" When I get a fair representation and my computer fixed I'm hoping to make a new video for just that.
wyldweasil 3 years ago
dude, youre crazy! nice job!
I just bought this bass a few months ago, you got any suggestions on strings i should check into? my strings are crap!
and amp wise? can 10 inch speakers handle the low, low end? like an ampeg 610?
terrag0708 3 years ago
daddarios are great strings. amp wise it's really your preference. The low end really comes out more if you give it more breathing room. That's why i prefer cabs that are ported to have some room for the air to pop out. If ampeg is you thing, cab wise I would recommend the 610HLF, but cabs are more of an issue of how much room you have in your vehicle to transport it. That's why i rock a Carvin 4x10

i've been watching ur video and its seems u know ur shit, im gonna get a new bass, wat brands better schecter or gibson?
mlbassguitarist 3 years ago
whatever bass feels comfortable to you. I like the schecters because you get a little more EQ control and they are a bit more easy to afford
wyldweasil 3 years ago
Sick shredding on the hot ass bass!!!

thanx Ham, you rock!
wyldweasil 3 years ago
Cool! I was prefer Ibanez yesterday, but now I know: Schecter is THE metalbass!
szgydfg 3 years ago
Damn youve got some pick skills man. Ive been thinkin of a Schecter for a while for when I use a pick, youve made my decision a little easier. How long you been playin by the way?
charlesmanson1987 3 years ago
been playing since 97, but I'm still learning little things here and there. I'm trying to put more finger style and tapping into my playing, that is if my band implements it into our songs
wyldweasil 3 years ago
pssssssshhhh haha WOW WERE GONNA EDIT THE FUCK OUTTA THIS ONE!!
hahaha thats the best part!!
nice playing to =)
battleaxbass52195 3 years ago
yeah, it was an off day, i didn't really put a lot of thought into this video and I goofed it up here and there. It's not half as bad as 2cnd hellraiser guitar video. I should make a video of out-takes
wyldweasil 3 years ago
ive seen both and i think the oine with the hellraiser is a little better but this one makes me laugh insanely idk why it just does!!
battleaxbass52195 3 years ago
it's cool, I try to not take myself serious, I feel like an everyday cartoon sometimes.
wyldweasil 3 years ago
hahaha
well i couldnt quite come up with the money so instead i bought a stiletto custom 5...no to much of a difference except it isnt neck thru and the bridge is a little different but i love it!!

thanks for reviewing this bass man, i'm really looking into getting it. great bass playing too, i checked out your band it's great.. but is the bass good for fingerpicking? i mainly use my fingers not a pick, so does it play well with them? and would i be better off getting the 4 string for slapping or is the 5 string decent for slapping? thanks
ToColeridge 3 years ago
Thanx, mainly I use the pick just because it's more comfortable for me. The bass in general feels welcoming for all styles I don't think it'll be much of a problem, I've been trying to incorporate more slapping into my playing and it felt good when i did it in the video.
wyldweasil 3 years ago
Your bass lines are something to hear man! Nice bass. Nice playing.
rickster470 3 years ago
thanx, pretty much everything I played in this video is my band's songs, check em out, links are to the right
wyldweasil 3 years ago
And man you have beefy tone, its great =]
And what tuning is this in?
tsup77 3 years ago
Tuned low to high GCGCF In the video I kept the factory strings on which I believe are 45-130 EXP coated. They felt good and not too flappy, I'll be changing to EXL 160-5 set that's 50-135 before my next show in August
wyldweasil 3 years ago
Nice, I looked at Schecters for a long time before I found my ATK, if I never got it, I would most likely have a stiletto. And I have a Rumble 60 too, great arent they?
tsup77 3 years ago
sweet... woudl you recommend that i should get this bass of the hellraiser?
eiphonebassplayer 3 years ago
That's up to you, I can't tell you how to spend your money or what your personal preference is, personally I like this one over the hellraiser. I'd say try both out but one of the big problems I ran into was that you couldn't find this color in any store locally. Trust me, I looked, all they had was that honey satin with the gold hardware, i just wasn't feeling that color.

i played that thing at gc its awesome
