  • Wow, what a pathetic attempt at journalism. This interview was totally edited to give the worst possible impression of Rick, and the snooty sarcastic comments directed at him and his church just shows how partisan NBC is. I happen to be a long-standing attender of Saddleback and can attest to the humility and philanthropy of Rick. This type of ridiculous and unfair framing of people does nothing to solve or address any real issues. Whoever posted this should be ashamed.

  • I don`t so what`s so funny about that...what he said is true.

  • Why do people think that what he said is ridiculous? All he was saying was that just because something is biological doesn't mean it is morally right. Also, it's been proven that homosexuality is NOT determined by genetics in identical twin studies. Genetics are the loaded gun, but environment pulls the trigger. (Just google it and read about it, don't debate with me.)

  • No thank you,I won't do google on this subject,Iprefer the truth. That truth can be found in no other place but the Bible, theorize all you want but,God has made things visible so men are without excuse.Try not link Homosexuality with biology, which uses theories, theories are estimate guesses. The Bible is proven 100% acurate above anything else pick up a Bible and find out for yourself.

  • I'm a little confused. Are you agreeing with me? As a Christian who struggles with homosexuality (meaning I'm attracted to men, but don't act on it because i believe it to be wrong), I have done a lot of research on this topic because it's hard, as a Christian, to come to grips with the reality of my situation.

  • The answer to your questin is,no.I'm not agreeing with you.I'm sorry that you have to go to another source other than the Bible to justify that lifesyle, biology is not a excuse for anything.I am not condeming you as a person,I personally have my own struggles, but it's still not anexcuse.

  • umm... I don't think you understand what I'm saying. I'm not justifying the lifestyle. In fact, I said that even if people were born gay (which science has proven otherwise, but people ignore that), it doesn't justify it being morally right. Especially since the Bible says we are born with a sin nature. I think the lifestyle is wrong and sinful which is why I have chosen not to live it.

  • I don't know what you think about orientation, but it's really not a choice. However, we do have a choice of whether or not to act on it. Trust me, I never would have chosen a homosexual orientation. I honestly just want some Christians to talk about the issue in a loving way so people like me can have someone come alongside us and help us to stay on the right path.

  • And trust me, it's really hard to stay on the right path when Christians think you are "gross" or sinful for just being tempted while the gay community stands there with open arms ready to accept you non-judgmentally. It seems kinda backwards from what the church is supposed to be. And I'm saying the church should accept the people like me who want to not give in to their homosexual desires, not openly gay people who are living in sin and thinking they are not living in sin.

  • what verse in the bible does it say that you can't love men?

i've been trying to find it......

  • There is a difference between "loving a man" and have a romantic/sexual relationship with a man. And the Bible is very clear that a man having a sexual relationship with a man is wrong. The gospel is so great, that I am willing to give up anything for it.

  • The idea of bringing "biology" into it is part of the problem. Nowhere in the Bible does it say he's created man to lust after every woman. It's not "biology"; but sexual lust. Society glorifies all lusts. We each are predisposed to certain types of lusts in our fallen nature, but it's hardly 1:1 ratio 4 all men. Christian men need 2 speak up on this 2 broaden the discussion re: homosexuality. God delivers from all lusts; we just don't want him to, not really. We love our lusts more than him.

  • @n2jesus419 your given up to a reprobate mind. Romans 1:26-28

  • Oh yeah,it wasn't only because she wouldn't give to the poor and needy because of her arrogance, the real reason was lack of repentance, which also applies to homosexuality.Giving to the poor and needy because of pride doesn't have anything to with the true meaning in Ezek.16:49,50 and most definately can not be supported in God's word,God has made things to evident so man is wothout excuse.(Romans1:20)

  • he's saying that straight men only have to limit themselves to 1 partner while gays have to try and change or remain virgins.

IT'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH THAT WE'RE IN A LOVING COMMITED RELATIONSHIP LIKE HIM.

We're being held to an even higher standard.how would you feel if you were told that you're born straight"you didn't have a choice" BUT you can't even have a spouse/partner.

  • its not good enough... and just being a good person wont get you into heaven

    praise jeebus

  • To further comment, any church that supports civil unions(same sex marriage),is not in line with God's perfect will,I didn't say it God did,but I stand by his word, which no man can proove is untrue.I think Mr.Warren is in line with hollywood, maybe he should change his to Brokeback Mountain that might fit his doctrine at the Saddleback Church.

  • you're understanding of his word is wrong not the word itself.but that's only the opinion of this gay christian diest.

  • Define "gay christian diest"I can't find it in the dictionary.

  • I'm gay. I believe in god. But I don't believe he interfers with us. I believe he made a world that's capable of continuing until his return. My form of christianity may look like that of the founding fathers. It's my understanding that they were diest too.

  • Explain,Sodom and Gomorah if you don't believe God interferes with us.I don't have time for small issues like this, tell your excuse to someone else,I'm not buyimg what your selling.

  • Ezekiel 16:49-50

Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom:She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. They were haughty and did detestable things before me. Therefore I did away with them as you have seen.

Not all diest believe that god has left us ENTIRELY alone.

  • Sounds like a contradiction to me,stop wasting my time with your your foolish reasoning, intrepret however you want, but you are only misleading yourself,if you have something with any subastance than back it up,otherwise take your problem to someone who will buy it.

  • I,totally agree with "Eyes wide Open,"my question is,being a man of God that he says he is;is,where is the reproof, here is a man leading a whole flock at "saddle back church"or whatever you want to call it,this is propaganda, nothing more than that, just a part of a grander deception in the move toward a one world religion,a good example of candy coded religion.

  • homophobic? Fear of being the same? Same to what? What a stupid word. Also Rick for was stating a fact that we replace natural laws for man made moral laws all the time. So i agree with Rick.

  • He is strongly implying that he looks upon every beautiful woman with sexual lust, but does not act upon that lust. Jesus told us that it is a sin to even look upon a woman with lust.

"But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." (Matthew 5:28)

  • That must have made the interview a bit awkward...

  • Curious posting: hmmm! poor causers, no truly educated intellectual content, but clear personal bias. (Ignorance-by 'Webster's' definition) What I can see that many may misunderstand and the 'liberal left' media will pervert is that his reference to his human inclination is Biblically honest by doctrinal claim. So sorry (NOT), most Christians are not homophobic, they accept Biblical reproach on the subject. Lastly, 'most people' know better. {Study the Paris Working, 1913-know history/movement}

  • Ho, ho, ho....the creepy Rick Warren says his nature is to " want to have sex with every beautiful woman he sees" reminds me of Ted Haggard joyously exclaiming how great evangelicals married sex lives are....

Religion and sex obsession always seem to go hand and hand. Beware!

  • This man should not be giving the inauguration speech. He not only disagrees with most people but offends.

  • He shouldn't be giving it because he's an idiot, not because he disagrees or offends people.

  • For him to say he's inclined to have SEX with EVERY attractive woman is showing just how homophobic he is.
