@TankNutJohn89 china has an average of around 1 trillion USD economy, the US has a 15 trillion USD economy, and we still have many factories that are lying dormant, if they were needed older machines can be used to make M16's and bombs, we did it during WWII, and to make a JDAM you need GPS system plus fins and a dumb bomb, about 200,000$ for a hard hitting precision munition :D russia still has better standard infantry weapons, and more of them, with around 4 million working AK47's :P

@wrathofvengance67 yeah, china actually is closer to 5 trillion USD economy, but they dont have the same quality as the US, and no navy that could possibly threaten even a single USN battlegroup :) a super carrier can easily destroy an entire fleet with enough munitions :) and an escort to stop enemy long range munitions, but even then a super carrier can easily take care of quite a few missiles. but the US operates 60+ destroyers and 11 carriers.

@wrathofvengance67 we have several thousand planes in active service, but we probably have a shit ton of F-16's and F-15's in moth balls that could be pulled into service if necessary. Navies are much harder to support because of their cost, we have close to 1K ships if you include the medical ships, cargo, etc. but i dont know if the number of destroyers includes amphibious warfare ships, which are really just destroyers with flight decks. they can launch AH-1's, harriers, and troop slicks. :)

USN has 11 carriers, but a country like russia can fire about 100+ SS-N-22 missiles on each USN battlegroup . china has also a huge number of supersonic anti ship missiles. supersonic anti-ship missiles>carriers>3.world countries
