How ridiculous.  As hard as Captain Planet threw that atom bomb the warhead wouldn't have stayed intact. There also wouldn't be a mushroom cloud. It would have been an isotropic, homogeneous blast radiating equally in all directions. A ball of plasma would be all that would be seen.

For what it was, you can tell the guys writing Captain Planet tried to have as much fun with it as they could. I watched plenty of episodes around 2007 at 6 am, largely because nothing else was on, and was genuinely surprised. They could of just phoned it in, but they really did try their damnest to make this pile of fail entertaining, and hell I think they did it.
