They are not. They've already released the opening on YouTube and it sounds totally different from Sylvain Cloux's version. It is sort of metal, but it just sounds inferior to Sylvain's.

Try again, with HORNS instead of buzzy synthetic guitars. At least your buzzy synthetic guitars sound better than CBS' buzzy synthetic guitars and you have some drums with actual thump in them. (Did I mention the guitars sound synthetic and buzzy?)

This was pretty cool! I still love the original "Five-0" theme, but this was an awesome updated version for sure. Supposedly they're trying to create a new updated "Hawaii Five-0" series that will premiere sometime in 2010. They should use this song for the starting theme!
