David Goldhill is doing a very good job getting us more classics (like WOF and TTD) in exchange for Cronin's lethal but costly acquisition of The Amazing Race. If it weren't for that, we would have seen at least the 1986 episodes in January 2007.
Maybe come later in August or in September when the second package runs out, we may go beyond November 15, 1985, and possibly view the all-cash Bonus Board finale, along with other gems from 1983 or 1986. So stay tuned...
David Goldhill is the new CEO and head of programming for GSN. I'm glad he's with GSN, because Rich Cronin (the guy he replaced as of August 1) was just so darn disrespectful to us die-hard classic game show fans. All Cronin cared about, IMO, was turning GSN into a reality TV channel. I'm just glad GSN is back to its roots for some months now.
Sorry, Jon. But I don't think GSN will have the rights to air the 1986 episodes of PYL this month or next month. If they did, GSN would have issued some sort of press release by now.
I knew that a few days ago. I did check the PDF schedules recently. But I am wondering if GSN has on their contract with Fremantle to air 1984 and 1985 episodes a certain number of times total for each individual package before they get some more?
Either way, at least what we have beats no PYL at all. And besides, maybe some 1986 episodes will surface on YT or Veoh someday.
And at least we will still get to see 1985 episodes on the weekends, despite that they go back to 1984 come 9/5.
i hope press your luck shows up on dvd prety soon. this was one of the best shows aired on tv. i 1st watch these shows when it was on usa in the 80s. when gsn brought it back, i was so amazed.
This would apparently be the seventh episode featuring the neon slide colour scheme (if you take the "lost" Back-To-School episode that didn't make it to air on CBS.
It is also one of the first episodes featuring a "silent" Whammy animation during the opening theme.

I wasn't even born yet when PYL aired. Yet I saw the show and I love it.
I, too, hope they have them on DVD soon.
