I really enjoy watching your videos but am disappointed that you used canned kidney beans instead of soaking dried ones. This adds a completely different flavour and gives the dish it's traditional red colour.
Yes! So many people forget to wash de rice. This is a staple dish in my home-- we was born knowning how to make rice n peas. One time I added a 1/2 teaspoon of sugar to my coconut milk and it set the flavors off! omg. Thanks for posting.
Can be found all over the Caribbean but invented in Jamaica. My mum would make this most Sundays and my stomach would rumble in church just thinking about getting home to eat it. Thanks Chris, great effort!
Good recipe, I'm not certain most people would stir the rice after the initial boil? Other than that, I'll recommend this to others...by the way, who says peas and rice, nobody I know, the Puerto Ricans will say rice and beans, but that's the extent of that? Do you have a recipe for Jamaican Black Cake?
i've sat here and watched roughly 6 of your videos now and i was a fan after the first...i don't know how i've missed your channel all this time
i can't wait to try some of these out
