Plus the reason Harry's parents are dead is because of Peter Pettigrew, not Snape(:

Snape eavesdropped on the conversation and reported it to Voldemort. It could have been the Longbottoms or the Potters child that led to his downfall but Voldemort chose the Potters which is intresting as Neville is a pureblood and Harry is a Halfblood so his belief in pureblood supremacy wasn't very strong, though he was half

Severus Snape was always my favorite character throughout the series, just cause he's such a badass man. Even when I thought he killed Dumbledore (well, he really did, but you know what I mean) I knew there was something else there. He WAS the bravest man, because of what he had done for Harry, even if Harry never knew it.

Why are so many of you sympathetic towards Snape? Keep in mind he was a death eater and cares for no living person, except Dumbledore, maybe. James, Sirius, and Remus are caring, unselfish, and even have that sort of rebelious quality which we've come to love about Harry. So it's not hard to see why Lily, kind and loving, would befriend the good guys as opposed to the future death eater. Also, who's fault is it that Lily is dead? Hmmm...oh yeah, Snivelus Snape.

He spent years going against Voldy, risking his own life and probably getting tortured a lot by Voldly, because honestly, we all know how he treated his death eaters. James was an ass. Severus and Lily were meant to be together. Harry never realized that it could have been Snape that was his father. Snape died in honor in protecting harry. Snape protected Harry for Lily.

The reason that Harry was alive in the end wasn't cause he was a living horcrux. It was because Voldemort was stupid and used Harry's blood to regenerate. So, Harry was still alive because his blood was in Voldemort's veins.
