I agree with broly. It only takes two musou to kill most officers. C3 can fill his long musou bar easily. This makes Gan Ning easily Top Tier in DW3. The second place I would say is Zhang Liao. No bodyguard consideration. DW3 regular only.

For DW3, based on what I did, Zhang Liao has a unique offense. Against generics, nothing much to say. BUT against playable officers, I give him Dragon Amulet all the time. He can plan a miss for his sixth strike, and the combo display will recounts again. And he create rooms for planning a miss by pushing the target at one side and the 7th hits, officers are not fast enough to block.

@dervertica In other words, Zhang Liao can skip his 6th musou strike consistently. Well, I remember this method requires strict timing and very strict positioning. I guess you can play the method I suggest in DW3XL as well. This is a HUUUGE advantage against playable officers. Consider banning bodyguard and playing stage with most ridiculous crowd Siege (Wei), he deserved to be compared with Cao Cao, and even Top Tier Gan Ning in DW3, but I guess not quite in DW3XL.

@dervertica I trust your skill. I hope you enjoy this method. Using Zhang Liao is quite fun. I already realized that his 5th weapon is better off compare to his 4th weapon in all important fields. Well, his 4th weapon isn't too bad. In DW3 original version, I put Zhang Liao at the 2nd spot.

@dervertica Someone who should also definitely practice as is Zhang He. Once you master his musou, and use his C6 properly, he becomes one of the most devastating characters of the game. It's best to fight away from the crowd and return with 5th normal attack, then usually the C6 will go well, then a C3 will instantly fill his musou again. Not sure how effective he is in DW3XL, but very effective in DW3.

Gan Ning is the best in DW3, no question.It only takes him 2 mosous to kill officers/genrals in hard mode on any stage. Top that with his massive fill rate.

@reversingmemories Actually what brolyhasaboner means is that he is surprised that you like ZGL, the Bottom Tier in DW3. His maximization is to keep his health in red in hard mode, to auto-fill the musou, which is the weakest offense in DW3, as DW5CMG did. This means that he has to run away from the targets and musou the officers, especially in a very large and dense crowd. To provide evidence, not only he is Bottom Tier in Officer Killing Tier List, but also Bottom Tier Crowd Clearer.

@reversingmemories Surprisingly ZGL becomes Top Tier in DW5XL, with his most powerful musou and fast filling JC, he can own Mt. Qi in Chaos Mode easily. With 800-long musou and a heavy weapon, he can kill ANY buffed officers/commanders in 5-star Chaos Mode in one musou. I'm not standing on any sides. I'm just telling you the truths about Officer Killing and Crowd Clearing Tier List in terms of maximizations in dense crowd hard mode, as DW5CMG did for the evaluation.

Gan Ning's Musou in this game annihilates everything. They took out the ease of control and power of it in DW4 onward though, and DW6 gimped everything something fierce. DW6 is an insult when you compare it to this game. It's funny how a PS2 game from like 10 years ago has more content and is a better game than current offerings.

There aren't in the story mode. You can unlock them for free mode (don't know how i did it, just use google) but if i remember correctly Fu Xi and Nu Wa where no real humans. they were gods in the chinese mythology.
