I kind of question the legitimacy of "The Rise and Fall of ECW". I watched it, and I wonder how much of a complete shoot it was. I know it got high reviews, but if I remember correctly (it's been awhile since I seen it), there was a lot of Vince McMahon praise in there for buying ECW, and putting ECW on RAW. The originals will never be back. The best chances I think are Stevie Richards & Taz after their TNA commitments, and RVD for one night appearences. Vince I think hates the ECW guys though.
I honestly don't think many people would care anymore about Stevie, unfortunatly. I think a lot of real ECW fans, who came back in 06/07 have probably stopped watching, and it's all younger fans who won't remember him from his bWo and Raven days. I wish they would stop refering to the history of the ECW title though. Either seperate yourselves from the history, or don't. I don't think WWECW is bad, but I wish they didn't call it ECW, because it's not. There's only 1 similarity: Tommy Dreamer.

Well, when you take Vito LoGrasso and put him in a dress, that pretty much tells you what Vince thought of the old ECW. He was a Baldie damnit!!! ECW was not just about the tables and barbed wire. It was about honest booking and crowd interaction. That's why fans loved it, and after watching Raw tonight, I see what is missing is what made ECW great, and that is honest interaction between fans and superstars.
I can understand why they toned it down. That kind of risk taking can rip the body apart and shorten life spans. WWE gave ECW some of its old recklessness in the beginning. Gave it a legitimate group to compete with along with some extreme matches. Too bad they didn't keep it up. Now it's a sort of limbo..where the extra weight is stored for later use, and the spotlight lessened.
Maybe it was when Benoit died, or perhaps when Sabu, Sandman, and Bob Lashly left. It just..lost its soul.
I think WWE went down hill as soon as Benoit(R.I.P) Died because remember after he died they started attracting kids and that was the start of the PG era.
Terry Funk deserves a big fucking send off or should at least be in the hall of fame...who knows what it would mean to him but it would be a great gesture

ECW's glory days were when Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko, Eddie Guerrero, and Lance Storm added technique and when Rey Misterio Jr., Konnan, Psicosis, and Juventud Guerrera added lucha libre to ECW's overall character and style. Those were the best of times.

I cant either i went to a live event of the new one with my freinds and we were Crazy we shouted all the Originals names asked the kids who the originals were we even shouted to the gay annoucers and asked who they were they just looked at us like we were weird when the Intro came on we said OMFG this song is so extreme!!!!

Well, when you take Vito LoGrasso and put him in a dress, that pretty much tells you what Vince thought of the old ECW. He was a Baldie damnit!!! ECW was not just about the tables and barbed wire. It was about honest booking and crowd interaction. That's why fans loved it, and after watching Raw tonight, I see what is missing is what made ECW great, and that is honest interaction between fans and superstars.

I can understand why they toned it down. That kind of risk taking can rip the body apart and shorten life spans. WWE gave ECW some of its old recklessness in the beginning. Gave it a legitimate group to compete with along with some extreme matches. Too bad they didn't keep it up. Now it's a sort of limbo..where the extra weight is stored for later use, and the spotlight lessened.
Maybe it was when Benoit died, or perhaps when Sabu, Sandman, and Bob Lashly left. It just..lost its soul.

original ECW had such a good connection with the crowds. N crowds appreciated it. Now ECW is the place for future wwe superstars. I mean new stars come to ecw they do good go to raw n become famous. Vince oughta leave the memories of ECW alone. The sad thing is that little kids that watch wrestling will probably just remember ECW as "The one-hour brand on tuesday nights on sci-fi".
