They did an 8 track flashback for Captain and Tennille, ABBA, Bee Gees, Earth Wind & Fire, and Elton John from what I remember when this show aired in the mid 90's.
And nothing against Karen Carpenter but I would argue that Grace Slick, Ann Wilson, or Linda Ronstadt would be the best female vocalist of all-time.
@Grapes428 All those women had awesome voices, but the alltime greats had the unique "aspect" that you KNEW it was them from the first note they sang. There's no way to definitively decide who THE alltime best female vocalist is/was, but Karen Carpenter & Ella Fitzgerald fit the bill. Linda's voice was great, but not in their league, imo. The other two were in groups, so few remember their names beyond the fans of those groups. Folks know the names of the alltime greats, in anything.
Top of the world was actually recorded in 1972 but the video seen here I've learned was done in 1976 during their first tv special hence the reason our Princess looks so tiny, GOD rest her soul. †
Suzanne bent the facts a little bit when she claimed "Space Encounters" was their "last" television special. Nevertheless, great program with great footage. Thanks.
