  • @fatlardass2000 actually I bet that that is a celica gt not gts the gt makes a pathetic 140 the gts 180. hard to boost the gts due to the high compression. and if you do go stock for stock gts vs s2000 its really not that far apart because the celica is 400 pounds lighter

  • @seeroy1986 the s2000 has 240 hp 215-220whp, and the gts has 180hp or 140hp imagine what whp it has... so no the gts is FAR from the s2000, stock for stock. who cares if its 400 pounds lighter. the s2k has rwd ftw.

LOL First of all, a TA22 set a record for compact cars with a 6.41 running a 2JZ this year. 2, Toyota sells more cars than Honda, as they are leaders in technology which they bestowed some knowledge to Ford, and was spotting GM for awhile, and they own 20% of Subaru. Oh, they also have their own City in Japan. Then we go to the cars... Supra.. King Dick. Then let's look at our other cars... Celica stock faster than any Civic stock. MR2 > Honda Beat.

    Honda had a super car too dumbfuck... its called the NSX which was around from 91-05 and while it was still expensive at 90k it was much more attainable to people, and it has a very loyal group of enthusiast... not so with LFA bc of the asking price of 400G. Imagine telling your friends... hey i just pissed away 400G on a lexus... maybe a Ferrari or Lambo NOT LEXUS. Good luck to toyota on trying to sell that.

So... Would that make the Supra a Supercar? Which puts out more power than the NSX? NSX was what? 260hp 280ft-tq? Which even MORE of those were obtainable. I think you forget too Toyota also had the GT-Four, which spanks. Get your JDM hondas, put them with JDM Toyotas.. Toyota is on top /topic.

    Horsepower numbers aren't always important. NSX made 290 hp but weighed around 3000 lbs. 0-60 in the 4.6-5 sec range. Sure today thats not as impressive but back in 91 it was Ferrari Territory for much less money. Not to mention the NSX is still the most livable supercar to use as a daily driver today. Looks a hell of a lot better than the Supra to. Supra may have made 320 hp but it weighed some 600 lbs more. Besides, toyota has been building boring cars ever since they killed it in 96

    Another thing that makes toyota supra suck is the fact that the Turbo model wasn't even available with a stick in 96... it had a 4 spd auto only... a sports car... with a 4 spd auto... fucking lame. Honda is known to build fun to drive cars more than toyota in the US. Maybe toyota is different everywhere else but in the US they are known for boring, lifeless, soulless, bland pieces of automotive transportation.

  • @xoquixxoqafxo Yeah, because we offer 6spd Camry's, Corollas, and way more cars that are pretty much maintenance free, which sell more, and will allow us to ultimately put out far better sports cars in the future... I. E. FT-86.

    Look at the lineup... MR2 better than Honda Beat. Supra, better than S2k (S2k looks more fun to drive, I give it that) AND NSX, plus AWD cars to blush at. Did know you Toyota even owns 20% of Subaru? Say what you will... Fun to drive.. maybe. But not better.

Like I said, the company that sells more cars doesn't make it better, the problem is toyota has way too many cars which is why they lost bilions of dollars last year.

Either stock, 2zz, or 2GR motor. It's just better balanced. Honestly, for having a nice line up, I will have to give the the props to Nissan for making family cars and keeping their Z car around.

    Touge? that isn't even a word... wow. What the fuck is MR-S... there is no toyota in the US called that. Do some research before you leave ignorant comments. The S2K really does not have any natural competitors. No other car in its class had a 9k redline and made 120hp/liter naturally aspirated. It was essentially a 4 wheel sport bike. It had an extremely well balanced chassis bc it was really light weight. Fast doesn't always mean in a straight line, the S2K would win on a track

Good at making reliable cars... Ok. They look nice? ok... Did they have their time in the 90's with bad ass cars? yes. But I do think they are better than Honda when it comes to what is out there (if you tally it all). However, I would imagine Honda cars are fun to drive... As..

    I used to be a toyota lover, their cars from the 90s were great and so were honda's. I've driven everything toyota and honda has to offer. Toyota's sportiest offerings just aren't as impressive (supra excluded) Honda just inspire more driving confidence and fun. From even their mainstream Accords and Civics while Camry's and Corolla's are just bland and sloppy. IMO people who buy toyotas favor an isolated drive and ppl who like to drive favor Honda's. Both are reliable tho.

    haha i seriously was a die hard toyota fan until i started driving Honda's! There are still a couple of toyotas i wouldn't mind owning: 94 Supra and First Gen IS300, LFA is mighty impressive but lexus is seriously asking way too much money for it... it should be $100k not $400k. Hell it should be a direct competitor to the GTR and thats 80k! Overall, I think both automakers have lost their ways. Toyota is more lost IMO, Honda just got lost when they killed the S2k last year.

    I saw it at the auto show, looks cool, I must give toyota credit tho for giving us concept sports cars and even lauching their first super car. I hope Honda starts doing the same. The economy is just soo shitty that Honda doesn't see a market for sports cars anymore. Im sure they will once the economy stabilizes. Only toyota 4 banger i like was the 2ZZ-FE from the Celica GTS, but it still wasn't as smooth as a B18C or K20 in the higher rev ranges. Honda still is king of 4 bangers :) 

  • @xoquixxoqafxo Very true about the K20, but I wouldn't necessarily say king of 4 bangers. I would say king of N/A 4 bangers, and if they release a turbo car, then the world is going to get shaken up. But actually the 4g63 from Nissan is king of 4 bangers, just not reliable as Honda, Toyota or even Nissan for that matter. There is a guy, I can't remember his name, but look up Fastest DSM. He drives a 1st gen GSX and is in the 7's I believe.

  • @xoquixxoqafxo Oh, and I will add that Honda does make the best N/A 4 cylinder motors, putting out the most power. Although back in the day, Toyota did have a competitor known as the Beams motor, putting out 200hp as well, like the H22.

    Even with future MR2 and future Supra, they won't be like they were in the 90's. I am certain the FT-86 will be much better than the AE86 though.

  • @xoquixxoqafxo that is the only reason I can come up with for everyone trying to fix them up. They do look nice though, I give them that. For street cars, they aren't bad, but they just don't seem like serious enough cars (the civics to say the least, again, excluding S2k and NSX).

  • i have race built celica turbo and beast scooby on around 10 psi i have just got stan alone ecu and it will be running around 18 psi trust me is fucking fast i have not lost race yet. but i havenot raced s2k but be sure to let you know who wins.

  • pretty sure your underestimating the power of not just hondas in general, but a fuckin s2k. Lets see you go buy a musle car for $1000, and have the power+handling to not only drag, but do raod/autocross too. Honda=all around.

  • Celica is only a GT, which has the 1zz engine, wihch is only 140hp stock, not the 2zz engine which is 190hp stock, so even with boost, s2k being NA, has better throttle response, the 1zz needs some good work to be a 'fast' car
