Dave, that is an excellent tip on reloading, to tilt the weapon toward you slightly. Just FYI, but at the range I go to, they chew your tail out if people don't keep the weapon pointed down range. But great tip I'll try out in the open field where I'm not nervous as heck.
Safety first! Keeping the gun pointed down range at any training facility or range is incredibly important. If you want to practice a tip like this, adjust your body slightly so that when you perform the move the gun itself is still pointing down range. Be careful, and if it doesn't seem like you can practice a move like this safely in a public setting, then just don't do it. Your instincts are right - always look for a way to train safely!
