Luckily my "radar" found this group in 1973 when I saw the original four live at Walthamstow Technical College as "warm ups!" to Wishbone Ash.
Woefully underrated at that time - I did not think that nearly 40 years later I would still consider them as the best group in my lifetime, and I also think Camel's longest surviving member Andrew Latimer is the best guitarist in the world.
God, I got this when it came out, my fave band for many many years.......brings back a lot of memeories of a certain time with certain people and places....great playing from Latimer...Mesa Boogie in those days? I seem to recall......
@vanu49 I guess he's used loads of stuff, off the top of my head, early days were ac30, possibly a fender bassman head, marshall cabs, and an Echoplex...in the early 80's i seem to recall his setup had a peavey combo for cleans and a mesa boogie for distortions, a korg stage echo (Tape I think), a big muff, in recent times I've seen him use ac30's, marshalls and RAT pedals, etc just goes to show, it's not the gear, it's the player....all the best
@skaboosh "Its not the gear, it's the player"...right on!!!..In my younger days..I thought: well I have me this Strat...and a Peavey Classic...and I sounded like shit!!!!...How come???? lmao...I forgot...you got to put it right!!!!!!!...lol...all the best man!!!!!!!
