I waited 24 years for this because I was taught to hate Carl Sagan...I was in tears before the intro music had finished, the first time I saw Cosmos episode 1.
I don't know that for a fact... and I AM assuming but... who else would do it?
In fact they are one of the few "groups" on Youtube that use votebotting to beat the system.
But it's not just childish... there is a certain... ironically enough... evil to it all imo.
Anyways... Carl sure had a unique way of communicating his point and his knowledge of science was masterful. But... most importantly... he was personable. Very very personable.
We live such a pitiful handful of years, yet we have the potential to shine brighter than the stars. Sadly not many of us do, we struggle against our own selves in an age old conflict that never ends. People must grow up. Petty bickering and childish religious beliefs need to be shed like a foul skin we no longer require. Compassion and empathy followed by humble contemplation for who we truly are or could be. Ignorance and dogma are such tiresome thing's...
I think the politicians and the religious folks should stop, take a day off and watch this. A Billion galaxies..Each with a billion stars!...Pause and look at 5:36..No way are we alone in the Cosmos!
I openly wept. No bullshitting, no being a smartass. Carl Sagan was one of those geniuses it will take a hundred years or more for humanity to ever see his like again.

How the hell this video has almost the same amount of negative marks as the positive ones?!

I was just wondering the same thing. There is something seriously wrong with people for something like that to happen.

The opening monologue is the best part of this phenomenally powerful and moving series.

If only Carl were alive today... we need so many more people like him.
Also every time that music starts part of me expects him to talk about the Pale Blue Dot

true, he is one of the best. if we all had his take on life = world peace

The scene with red galaxies(or rather galaxies in the red shift) seems so outdated compared to the Hubble Ultra Deep Field!
