Btw one tip, dont use a pick on gravel it ruins it alot quicker than just normal digging.

if you put a piece of metal on the far left middle piece of the 3X3 crafting square and a flint in the bottom middle you can make a flint fire starter and if you place wood blocks they burn lighter then torches... plus its cool

Question: You could possibly build a ladder to go all the way down your mineshaft and the ladder could stop at different levels of the carvern, but at the momment you don't know how deep it is, soo, you might need to explore it and put alot of torch's about.

Put the large chest next to the workbench. Then put your furnace beside the chest.

@Badfatstorymode Well, for the Furnace, put it next to your storage, this way you can store as you cook, also a tip, you can stack a furnace on top of each other going 3 high if I remember, so this could be a good way to save space :)
