700 billion was what we were told---the truth is, after the bailout was approved in Congress, over 7 trillion disappeared from the treasury. That total approached the 9 trillion mark within 6 weeks of the bailout approval. Congress, the US treasury and the Federal Reserve won't discuss where that money went... The bailout was approved after the Fed kept the details of the bill secret from Congress until just minutes before the vote--so we ended up writing a blank check...
I also like the electric car idea, but they're weight must come down to make them practical (around 2000lbs) but issues of safety will kick in due to accidents with larger vehicles
If we taxed automakers on excessive weight vehicles this money could be given as credits for lighter vehicles
weight = wasted energy
Also large 18 wheeler vehicles should not be allowed to operate in the cities during rush hour, due to congestion and the safety of smaller lighter vehicles as they come on-line
Again, weight like cost is determined by the car companies.cars could be maid of high impact plastic with a metal safty cage. GM has already built an electric car that was accepted by the public. All cars could be built with their bumpers at the same level.
This would limit design but who cares its only transportation.Stop buying extentions of your egosand start getting control of our world. Boycot internal combustion!!!
it will be terribly sad if the auto industries get bailed out. I hate to be negative , but human's are terribly brainwashed. no one even seem's to understand what it mean's when these bailouts occur. It is absolutely rediculous bailing out these greedy,corrupt, evil car industries making gas guzzlers,s.u.v's,and supporting the sick oil industry.all of this stuff should fall so they will learn their lesson's,that's why we are here , to learn lesson's , grow and evolve to be better human's.
You have some really good ideas that is for sure, but electric cars are too expensive for the masses, those who can afford them dont give a shit, if you advice people to be humans not Americans, you need to stop saying destroy terrorist nations, you cant call a whole nation terrorists, I totally agree with you about destroying OPEC though 100% all it takes is not buying there product and they are out of business and that is good for the planet, nothing against all Muslims.
Did I hear what you are saying. Pelosi, Reid, Obama and Democrats are anti oil-they do not want to drill for oil such as in Alaska-
So they are against drilling yet they want us to bail out the 3 industries that produce SUV's and big trucks-
So let's say we bail them out. Obama says that in January he will ban drilling for oil. -we bail out Detroit-they still don't sell cars as they run on oil.
I think not. Let's drill for oil, build a refinery and put the money into electric car research.
I agree with you, but unfortunately Dummy-crats are urging Boosh to go through with the bailout. If Boosh doesn't do it, then Obonga will. If U.S. automakers didn't pay their workers an average of $29.25 per hour (plus huge pensions and benefits) to make gas-guzzling junk cars, then they wouldn't need our tax money. Most Americans don't make anywhere near $29.25 per hour--so why should we hand over our hard-earned money to auto workers?

WOW! Finally someone with common sense. If they wanted to make a difference they would ban the selling of new gas powered cars...but they won't.

Electric cars are expensive because the auto companies want them to be. I am not calling all Muslims terrorists, just the ones getting
their funding from oil and making the world suck for everyone else. Stop buying oil and
most terrorism will fade away.
