  • I remember playing this stage & it was very hard to do

  • what was the password?

  • Comment removed

  • Reminds me when my brother wants me to be the dude with the flash light in Doom 3. lol. The 64 version is scary!! The roars that I hear are frightening!

  • Doom 64, the most scariest videogame ever

i played this videogame since 1997 (7 years old), and i had nightmares at night

    sorry for my english

  • This was a big change in the doom series because it went from being an adrenaline first person shooter to a horror first person shooter

  • I remember early in this game's development this was supposed to be Doom 3.

  • Did i just See Daisy?

  • I love this game

  • The Absolution TC version of this level pisses me off. Some jack knob though it was a good idea to add crushers in the arachnotron room.

You gotta go through Cat And Mouse too. That level scares the dick off me!

  • this game seems a heck of a lot scary then the pc doom 1/2

  • @PeterOnoLennon lol theres a pc version of doom64. its much harder. I completed this level with ONLY 7 health left. and you can save :D

  • Damn good game.

  • One question, how do u go back to the top area when u first start the level? I mean..u said in ur discription that u must destroy all the barrels, right? There r many barrels once u jump down from ur starting point! So once u jump down, there's no way back up!! So how do u get back up there?????

  • @kelvintan821 in the blue door room is a switch that lowers an elevator in the corner of the room. at the top is a soul sphere, but at the bottom is a barrel and a teleporter that brings you back to the starting point of the level. also, in the corridor, across from the blue door, is a blood stain on the floor. hit the use button in front of it to open a teleporter that brings you back to the start and spawns enemies. that one's a one-shot deal, though.

  • @SolBadguy314 THX ALOT!!!!!

  • @kelvintan821 there's one or two secret teleports for you to do it

  • @jr2nd THX!!!

  • 64 is so bad ass

  • the best game i have ever played and the scariest one. If you believe in the day of judgement, this game will scare the shit outta you.

  • secrets like this make me wonder, there are things that havent been found in games like these old ones, it just gives me a mysterious feeling, i totally agree with

  • The best game...

BTW, is there any community of doom 64 ex?

  • what a game!!!!!!!!!just fantastic,i think the 64 version was the best one that came out,the music, enviroment ,very nice ,other version not as good, its just a matter of taste

  • @ doom1killer123: YES! The Pinky Demon was a LOT fraggin' scarier in Doom 64 than regular! I remember this one part of the game where you walk slowly down the hallway, you collect the weapon at the end, and all of a sudden all the doors rise up and an assload of Pinky demons are running at you . . . I almost died from fear.

  • I always thought it would have been way creepier if the story behind this game were simply the main character having post-traumatic nightmares. That would have made perfect sense and not contradicted anything.

I mean, then that's sort of non-creative and uses the stupid "OH! It was just a dream!" technique, but . . . yeah . . .

  • Comment removed

  • the monsters are WAY scarier in this game, especialy the pinkys

  • I was alone facing the army of hell and I beat it

  • There was something like this in Doom 2 i think, as well as quake.

  • Doom 3 is the best:D

  • One of the best Doom games with the best scary atmosphere

  • my favote is watch your step i love cyberdemon 2 in watch me die.

  • hard to believe this was on Nintendo 64

  • @Alevamltd XD god, i tought da same, thanks goodnes that the freaking nintendo guys dint make the blood green......... again

  • You must hear this game in Dolby Pro Logic II, it is absolutely insanely scary! Preferably at high volume with the subwoofer! Play it on a big flat panel like 40-65 inch LCD in a pitch dark room!

  • omgee i love thee chainsaw!!!!! its soooo wicked awesome!!!! only if my bros 64 wasnt broken......idk for other girls but I L O V E D O O M!!!!!!!!!!!! AND SO DOES MY FRAND!!! we played it on her computer all the time!!! i miss those days!!!

  • @MarioSnail007 lol "it was a mistake" you sound like a little cunt DOUCHE

  • wow man that was awesome

  • @MarioSnail007 wow you motherfucker this one was for N64 fuckin douchebag

  • this was for n64 not ps

  • great skills!!! :D

  • This made me remember the good old days when I moved to another city to attend university and I used to play Resident Evil 2. There were many rainy days and I played Resident Evil 2 many times with all lights turned off in my room. I also played Soul Reaver in those days : )

  • I remember playing this game when there was a thunder storm and it was all dark cuz of the clouds and I was home alone!

God damnit those were some good times!!!

And some really really scary times

  • Ok if you want the best possible atmosphere for this game here are a few things I think makes it (much) scarier.

    1. All lights turned of.

    2. All windows, doors and blinds shut

    3. Play Doom64 EX (google im sure youll find it)

    4. walk dont run (unless your beserk or using the chain saw!)

    5. Kind of imagine if you were in that same situation (that one gets me all the time.)

    6. Let the atmosphere sink in and let your self be scared.

    7. Play alone........

  • That just gets me horny LOL!

  • I think that applies to all Dooms :)

  • @BigFreakingCacodemon Don't forget, be sure to play the game at 3AM in the morning...now that is goddamn one hell of a thrill!

  • @OldSkoolgamerz Dang it! How could I have forgotten to mention that!

  • @BigFreakingCacodemon and have a small amount of mushrooms not to much because you still want to be able to play the game , and you will feel like your inside the game for real

  • @BigFreakingCacodemon: Dude . . . you just described years and years of my all-time fears. LOL, I used to get so scared of Doom I'd have to stop playing.

  • @johndeering20 Lol, sometimes I got so scared from DooM 3, that I would like have to force myself to go in a room. Yeah, DooM's a pretty great series, in every game, I've screamed out loud at least twice. XD

  • @BigFreakingCacodemon

    psx doom

  • @BigFreakingCacodemon or just play on a real n64 and add surrounnd sound support ansd play at night at like 10:300 in the morning :P

  • @BigFreakingCacodemon sry i meant 10:30 pm

  • A rough ride to the rocket launcher

  • Just finished this level today on Watch Me Die... and my god...

    Just two words...

    My God...

(Although it was on the Doom64 TC)

    Flipping hard nonetheless...

  • This is the only Doom game that scares me still

  • What about Doom 3?

  • have everyone tried the mod called doom 64 the absolution on HECTIC??? this map is INSANELY HARDER THAN THIS N64 VERSION!!

  • well played dude , do you get any bonus or kinda reward for passing this level?

  • do you need a memory card to save on doom 64

  • Yes, you need a memory pak to place in your controller to save. That is unless of course, you'd rather punch in a password.

  • i

    Love

    nintendo 64

  • @vaguxxx24 Would you like one for christmas? ;)

  • lol it isn't, compared to more insane WADs such as Plutonia 2's Go 4 It.

It is Go 2 It on steroids!

  • PC DOOM is better

  • It's not about what or which is better.

Gaming is not a sport; and games are not athletes.

  • @ExtremeBogom f*ck u

  • I love you to.

  • I got this game to.

When we where little we play this game every night in the weekend.

    And belive it or not.

    The nintendo64.

    Good times good times.

  • God, Doom is such a good game and Doom 64 is absolutely the best.

  • I made it, I finally made it!!!!!!!!!!! How I loathe the spiders...

  • How did you managed to prevent the ceiling from crushing down in the red key's room? Is there a cheat or something?

  • If this is the only reason, i feel sorry for you :/

  • Did you find it.

  • Man I got so pissed off. At this level last night.

  • These are the playstation sound effects!!

  • Yeah, but not all of them.

  • lol no, i played this game to the exaustion and believe me this is n64

  • I don't exactly know how to find those extra wads. I have doom 2 on my laptop but I don't know what to do next. How about some detailed instructions?

  • Thanks for the help everyone!

Now I'm jumpin' like a madman!

  • Good work, but never compare this to Go 2 It again. That level is a mad house with like 14 cyberdemons, not to mention all the other monsters.

  • i have this game for... PC!!!

  • ive got doom 64 !!!! and a n64 2!!!!

  • seen this on eBay for £5, good buy?

  • i beat this no codes

  • hectic is hard but go 2 it still looks harder

  • I am playing Doom 64tc:The Absolution (Doom 64 for PC) and I am wondering something.

Whenever I go into the teleporter in the staging area it takes me to "Cat and Mouse" not "Hectic".

I am wondering whether this has happened to anyone else and whether or not this level is accessable from the PC version without cheating.

    Thanks!

  • You have to beat Cat and Mouse first, then the next level should be Hectic. It's similar to Doom 2/Plutonia's/TNT's map 31 & 32, the secret levels.

  • Played it today and managed to get the soul sphere without getting caught in the pit. Had the red key and unlocked the red bar then managed to get the sphere. I died trying to strafe and shoot at the barons with rockets.

  • I have never known this secret level

  • lets see u creat a game den

  • at least it has a ground texture.

    OH.

    WHAT.

    BITCH.

  • The bgf 3000, the tazer gun, and spear thrower my favorites, as well as the soud off shotgun.

  • sick game

  • I'm definitely getting this when I get my N64.

  • dude you are incredible!

couldn't have done it better myself!

well, maybe i can now!!! now that i have seen how you completed it :D

but i wont do that haha

  • i just got this game six days ago and it is awesome. i never knew about this level ill see if i can get it

  • such a bomb game.

  • Final doom on play station 2 has these sounds.

  • well...i tried it on the rom and it doesnt work...heh...must be a fluke on that one....well....i have the original 64 version too for the 64 still cause im a major fan of doom... so im gonna try it on that one after i have my eye removal surgery cause of an accident that happened to me last friday or the friday before.

  • this game is so dark its nearly unplayable

  • On a SDTV, yes, for the most part. hd TV, not at all. computer HD screen, not at all.

  • yeah i didn't have a HD TV when i had this game around 10 years ago

  • You can find a means to play it on your computer today; no glitches, errors, graphic bugs, you can obtain the complete game for free for PC.

just saying, its fun to relive memories with my new developed brain, makes it more fun. i can compare the game back to when i was 6 and did not understand anything. XD

  • true that man..your absolutely right

  • go 2 it is WAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY harder

  • hey just wondering, what do you record this with?

  • I miss this game...

    You kicked that levels ASS

  • what exactly can you do on the features menu?

  • features menu, where you can now access all levels, all maps, all weapons/ammo, max health and invincibility.

  • i see...

  • yea its fucking awesome

  • dude what game should i get doom for the snes or doom 64

  • snes looks fun

  • I recently downloaded Doom 64 for PC, and when I finish this level it returns me into de Staging Area Again, with the message "Jump Away you Cheater". I swear I didn't use any cheat at all!

  • ahhh memories...

  • dreamcast was great, but n64 had the best platformers, shooters and action rpgs. some great non-car racing games aswell

  • The Hectic I played for the Absolution version on the PC is harder because the ceiling trys to crush you when fighting the arachnotrons.

  • There was like a convere (i dont know how to spell it) belt in the middle nd shit! I remember... :P

  • I'll do you a favor...

to bypass the hassle of getting its features menu try this password

    ?TJL BDFW BFGV JVVB

  • Wow...

  • I could've sworn this level was longer. I guess that's because I died too much :P

  • this game had sweet graphics and cool eerie music but the gameplay just became so monotonous. but this is how i feel about the doom series in general anyway.

  • the problem was playing it with the freaking n64 controller... :(

you can get the armor if you really try ;)

just the green one, though (unless there's something I don't know about here)

  • Hell yeah man!

  • This level, "HECTIC", is one that make me think in a worry way. I did not expect that the megaamor was a trap, but since the first time I fell rigth into it. HECTIC is really very hard and everything here has an objetive to test how good You survive in the hiden level 32 of Doom 64. Good luck to all novice that are about to enter in HECTIC!

  • Best game ever! They need a high resolution version with the 3D renders featured in the instruction booklet.

  • impossible in harder lvls

  • This level is impossible on the "I own Doom!" and "Watch me die!" difficulties -_-

  • What do you mean, I have done it before after about 30+ tries on "Nightmare!".

  • I love this game, I still have it and I still play it.

  • dang nice job. i only lasted for like 20 seconds at the most

  • This is the hardest thing ive ever attemped

you got 2 suckie wepons and the rocket loncher man youre amazing

  • im not able to get here with the absolution port, dunno why

  • In the absolution port you have to complete a quite hard level "Cat & Mouse"

Then you can get to Hectic... But Hectic on the Absolution comes with a squishy cieling in the room with the arachnatrons... Pointless addition, makes the level impossible.

  • nice job. u rock

  • This map was really tough but I recall doing it on the hardest setting and 1 blast from those demons green fireballs knocked you off the ledge and did massive damage.

  • lol i wouldnt live

  • try it on watch me die ^^

i finally did it [5% life, 12% armor]

  • The video I did it on was on Watch Me Die. I even recorded me warping to "No Escape" to make sure I was playing on WMD (in WMD, there are THREE cyberdemons in the level. One outside the cage, and two inside the cage).

Probably can't easily tell because I wasn't getting hurt at the worst amounts of damage all the time.

Also, it's possible to bug the level and finish it much faster, but I didn't choose to do such a thing here. Expect to see me bug the level in one of my next videos.

  • didn't notice : \

anyways I've played doom before :P

and i will... anyways ever play skulltag or anyother multiplayer doom client? i'd like to play u:P

  • i beat it one time on easy. it was always the damn arrow room that killed me, or the compression of the spiderdemon room!!

  • seriously, this didn't look hard at all. are you just that good?

  • This level isn't actually that hard if you know what you're doing. (I seem to remember the PC version having a difference with the Spider Demon pit though... maybe I'm just misremembering something.)

The jump ability you get after you beat this level in the PC version is pretty damn useless, I must say. (I think that may be all you get in the PC one, as opposed to the N64's "features" menu.)

  • Shurikens? oO!

  • God this game used to give me a wonderfully horrified feeling. With the lights off in my room, and the volume up, it was a mental escape into a scary depressing world which in the back of my mind I knew I could pull out of at anytime. I guess knowing that fact made it enjoyable rather than unbearabely scary.

  • are you kidding? doom 64 NINTENDO 64

  • can u download this on pc?

  • Certainly can. There's a PC port called "Absolution", which has all the N64 levels, plus several others.

Only catch is, for legal reasons (it was a fan-made game), you need the WAD of Doom 2 to play it.

  • what console is this on?

  • doom 64 dumbass

  • you made this look so fucking easy. I still have never finished this level but is on my video game goals. Kudos.

  • Its hard as Hell :)

  • I never knew how to get to Hectic until I saw this video, so thanks a lot! Doom 64 was the best version of Doom ever made, and continues to be.

  • It took me about 30 times to complete this level. The first room is all about luck it depends where the Arachnotron move because you need some room to fire your rockets. :P

  • The hardest part of the level is that fucking lava pit... and if you are careful you can actually get the small armor

  • and you are just argh

  • You hate one of the best games of all time?

  • well, at least you didn't call it 'gay'.

  • I tried the features cheat and when I went to this level the features mode dissaperred. >_>

  • such a pain in the ass for such a short level

  • thats true
