  • 39 seconds. He sounds pretty stoked

  • lol gotta love ya wife for her patience i think!

  • Whoops make sure top balance bar ends are level with the swash plate if not adjust and try to trim on smooth surface. Hope this helps.

  • Trim is wrong lol

  • ahahahahahahah

  • i have a comment for your description.... 1) noob is not a word.. 2) everyone fails the first time.. always..

  • @comanche119

    Slang Dictionary

    newbie definition

    and noob

    1.n.

someone who is new to a group, place, activity, etc. (The opposite of oldbie.) : I'm just a newbie, but I do have a question for the group. , Will you noobs ever learn to read the FAQ?

  • @comanche119

Also see video response below "Blade 400 FIRST flips" - guess "always" didn't apply to this first time. Also posted a video of my Trex that was more recent. Good luck if you decide to get a Wasp :) Happy Flying!

  • XD, the back wheel broke aXD.

  • Ok helicopter has tough time charring the training balls.

  • Dude first buy a 2 channel then get experted and then go for 3 channel then for 4 channel and finally 6 channel.Dude learn Anyway your good.

  • I'm discouraged. I'm waiting on a v4 200SE CF next week. Maybe I should've gotten a Walkera 4g3 instead.

  • Don't be discouraged there is nothing wrong with the Wasp.

That's the thing with this hobby they fly and the losing control is not the issue it's the impact and everyone crashes and every helicopter breaks no exceptions.

  • Just had to comment i've had the heli for over a month and only had 1 servo go bad.

I flew many FP heli's priorly and the wasp is better than any other RTF FP out there at this time.

While I can appreciate that you now fly other heli's the fact is that when you posted the review of the Wasp you did not know how to fly.

And the reason there are 7000+ views on here is because the Wasp is fairly new to the RTF world of heli's.

Walkera ,Esky,Exceed are the known brands.

  • You obviously have not had a HonneyBee FP heli. Do a google search and you'll see their the most poplar heli out there. (Less then $100) Farily new to to RTF world? Well I started with Heli's when that video was posted and that was a version 3. This meant they had two previous tries to get it right and didn't. Now I know there is a v4 wasp out there. These come from HK - and the quality is just not there. Sure now I could fly one but as a beginner you need something durable - the wasp is not.

  • Yes I have flown the Honeybee I still own one today.

It was rude of me to post what I did.

And you have a solid point the HB is better for a beginner as far as parts go but if you have hover down then the Wasp is the better RTF FP Helicopter.

Plus side The Wasp is more stable Neg- parts a little more.

HoneyBee FP Neg- requires constant stick correction Pos+ cheap parts..It balances out.

  • how come every hobby site says this copter is good for beginners ...

  • If they have a wasp v4 maybe, but the v3 was crap. I'd even go so far as to recommend a Blade CP over this one and that's stretching it. Still waiting on Skrytec to send me a v4 to dispell their quality issues...

  • You were a noob and calling the Wasp a POS???

You did not even know how to fly I call that cr@ppy pilot not crappy helicopter.

Every new pilot says it's the helicopter when in fact it's the user because they flew a Havok helicopter and think they can fly 4 or 6 channel helicopter.

  • The wasp is a POS - do a youtube search and you'll see why this video has 7k views - not many fly it for a reason. I have 7 helicopters now the biggest being a 26cc gaser that swings just under 800mm blades. Point being I've owned enough to call this one a POS - a blade CP is better then than a wasp and I hate CP's...

  • Dont give up, it is very hard to flight a halicopter! Try to hover indoor! Have a nice time - Bettmen

  • lol, good first run, way better than mine, up, panic, down, smash!

i i wrecked it so bad it was cheaper to buy a new one!

  • Nice. This was just like my first attempt. Keep it up! Eric

  • You bellend!!! Does it always take you this long to get it up? No wonder your wife's bored!!

  • I appreciate all of you trying to help out but this Heli was a real POS. Even when it is totally fixed and new you could break the feathering shaft with a rough landing. They have improved on the Wasp series and for their sake I hope it's better - after all my skills did improve, see video response I posted. I'll take all the tips you can give me on 3d flight now :D - Thanks All ~ Steve

  • On that note if Skrytec is reading and wants to send me the newer version will gladly do a review of it w/video :)as this can't be good publicity for them...

  • lol...listen if you leave them training balls off the rod is goiing to stick in the ground at some point and your gonna totally crash that...your hovering so close the downdraft will make it shift all over..put the balls back on and bring it right up about 2 feet off ground youll see it will hover much easier, just touch your stick in very tiny movemants..all good heli pilots youll see thst their fingers barely move..just trying to help you out..have fun flying

  • This may be hard to believe, but some of the best rc heli pilots do not post on youtube :), but seriously I guess we were all like that at some point, but most dont choose to post up their failures when first starting..too boring :)

  • wow that was pathetic, you cant just throttle up and hope that it hover perfectly straight, you need to fly the helicopter!

  • I checked and didn't see that you had any heli vids yourself... Check out the other vids, need to make a new one now that FF is old hat.

  • main gear and pinion gears sound a bit tight :(

  • FPs make a good first helicopter, but this may not be the best 'first' helicopter. Try the HoneyBee FP - I say this because the repair costs would be cheaper and are generally more available than WASP parts. Also, the high headspeed of the WASP can be frightful for some.

  • I'm not sure if it's the headspeed or the BL motor but yeah it's going to take some time and I am cautious of this heli. I posted 2nd try last night, slightly better. I realize this is not going to be a quick learning process and going to be costly along the way. I'll get there eventually :)

  • You chose right by starting with a FP heli, but the Wasp V3 with the brushless motor and belt driven tail will cost you more to crash. Many like myself started with the Esky Honey Bee FP.

However, you should still be able to learn on the Wasp. First of all, it is normal for the heli to want to rotate and slide to the left when first taking off. You'll learn to counter that over time.

I would suggest purchasing a high end simulator like Phoenix RC. A good sim will save you money.

  • Also, I would suggest taking a took at RADD's School of Rotary Flight.

I would also suggest a larger paved area like a parking lot, if you can locate one.

Keep plugging away. It's a tough learning experience, but if you stick with it, you'll eventually be flying.

If you are interested, I have a few videos of me flying RC helis here on YouTube.
