the fighting you see like, right as the puck drops, is the planned out ones usually, and they say "wanna go?" or something similar etc, and they usually will, and then proceed punching eachothers faces off, it's planned probably yeah, but not staged. there's a difference, staged would be pre-choosing a winner and usually what is going to happen.

That's not staged fighting, that's called "squaring up". You know, like not just randomly cheap shotting someone in the face? If you just start punching someone in the back of the head you're looking at fines, suspensions, and major penalties, and you'll be laballed a coward. It's a highly competitive sport, but they still show respect. And if only one person is fighting, then only one person gets a penalty, in which case there'll be a powerplay, but if they both fight, both teams get a pentalty

@evh5150316 Who says that? There are plenty of planned fights, theres been fights where two enforcers have agreed to fight the night before the match on a radio show i saw haha. That said, there are plenty of spontanious fights that happen on the spur of the moment so who cares. Staged or spontanious, they are ALL real, with real punches and real aggression. GO HOCKEY

I know you are soo right! i love hearing what they say but you rarely hear it! But remember if they had to mics on all the time you would be hearing a lot of swearing and maybe kids won't be able to watch hockey! BUT if they mic a player they should bleep out the swearing and show the audience!! EITHER WAY I STILL LOVE HOCKEY!!
