@TonyAirlines Yeah I know, right? LOL. The F&S is awesome, sometimes they send me down there to do bussing and I make pretty good tips. So AMC 30's name must be pretty well known up there, huh?
Nice work! I'd kinda wondered how it all hung together up there. Had no idea the 35mm was that much of a pain in the ass. Do you still have to change reels a few times midway through?
@coma13794 Nope, changing reels is a thing of the past in these large chain theaters. We're slowly converting to 100% Sony Digital. I'll sort of miss 35mm lol
@TonyAirlines Please tell me how long you have been working as a projectionist. Do you get a raise once a year w/ benefits? Do you have to work your way up?
I'm a Multimedia grad(not a stable job, also staring at a screen 8hrs day isn't something I want anymore.) I'm also a Navy veteran. Nobody is hiring with what my job was. I maybe over qualified but I don't give a fuck! I want to "down-shift'' my life and do what makes me happy. Can someone make a career out of this? Thanks
@cellardoor199991 This video is somewhat dated; I've been a Projectionist for a year and a half now. We get raises based on performance reviews, I think twice a year. We don't have to work our way up, but I'd like to.
I was a cameraman at my high school before I came to work as a Projectionist. I assume they liked that I had a high interest in video and technology. If you want to make a career in Projection, you could be a Presentation Manager, which is the boss of Projection.
@jplolo316 haha thanks Jen. Yeah, I had a bunch of choices to choose from and I had a difficult time finding out which would fit. But it all turned out great!
Awesome! Greetings from AMC 30 - Olathe, KS. I noticed you also fly. Same here, working at AMC while working on my instrument rating.

Tony! That is freaking awesome!!! I loved it. Everything about it. Perfect music choices. Quarky, fun... I'm jealous I didn't do it.
