  • Wow! We've a languaje topic here! I'll read it with great enthusiasm....

  • the biggest reklam in the world

  • zuhahahah kopuyorum şuna yhaa

  • Is figo really saying to ronaldo "¿Qué Pasa?"? what language do those ignorant people from nike think we brazilians and portuguese speak? castilian?

Even "Olé!" is a spanish word or at least it originated from some kind of spanish language(if only it was galician...) what more can i say..? That sometimes ignorance and lack of respect walk side by side? This is certainly one of those times..

  • I don't know, but why do you hate to much castilian? In fact castilian and portuguese are very similar languages, I say 'couse I speak Spanish very well. Look in Southamerica, we love brazilians, and brazilian are our brothers, and millions of brazilian learn spanish, becaouse is a universal language just like English. Portuguese is a beatiful language too, but is not as universal as Spanish, just the way Sapnish towards English.

  • In Spanish we have a unified language, that we all share. We don't have one translation for people of Spain & another for Latin America and another for USA, we have the same spelling, grammar, & meaning for the words in all the spanish speaking countries. In the case of Portugal is quite diferente way of saying things and spelling than Brazil At the end Brazil will end up speaking Spanish(castilian)'couse has more bussinesses to do with Latin America and Spain than they do with Portugal

  • So, I should ask you, if you love your language, so why are you posting comments in English, which is not your language? It's because of convenience, 'couse the global world and its economy is globlalized. Honestly Spanish is the number one language in Soccer, why? Because Spain has the most richest and pretigious league in the world, so that's why they speak spanish there. Frankly, many people think that Portugues is a dialect of Spanish, which is not true, but they do

  • Like brazilian say: "We don't speak portugues, We speak brasileiro, or portugues brasileiro, which is not like european portuguese"

  • A day will come when you, inhabitants of Iberian American countries will all learn to speak a unified Portuguese idiom(Brazilian variants are the dominant ones, so, I'm hoping they'll spread by cultural means through the lusophone world in the coming years and gradually annihilate the European and African ones, or at least strongly influence them).

  • Why? Because Brazil will eventually become the most powerful Iberian language speaking country, it'll not be "Méjico", that's for sure. But look, I don't mean to be hostile. I'm only trying to defend my country's greatest legacy(besides it's rich history)and the bond it shares with some of it's sister countries.

  • Lusophony is as you well know something that unites us Portuguese, Brazilian, many Angolan some Mozambican, few Macanese and many other.

I'm trying to point out that although Portuguese is a less spoken language than Castillian or English, it´s a major language just as well(and yes, you didn't said otherwise), in fact it has official status all around and a lot of recognised growth potential(in fact it's growing already, mainly in the African Countries of Portuguese Official Language)

  • As you know Spain is Taking over Latin America again, even Brazil is within its list. Don't you know the amount and number of companies and bussinesses of Spanish origin present in Brasil and all latin America? Let's be honest I don't like a lot spanish people, but they're getting so rich, their Economy is growing fast, so fast that they have more than 5 millon inmigrants there, and many of them are Latinamerican.

  • I can assure you that the most powerfull iberian language speaking country is USA, as you know the Spanish legacy in its territory is huge, more of the 70% of USA was part of the Spanish Empire. As you know the richest latin america community of the world in not in Brasil is in USA. And Spanish in the USA is teach toguether with English, couse more than 100 millions of americans know Spanish in a certain and understable degree that's for sure.

  • Brasil is the largest Latin America country, I know that, but Portuguese can't compete towards Spanish in Latin America, because Brazil is the only country with Portuguese as a mother Language tomards Spanish speakers which are: Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panama, Cuba, Dominica Republic, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay, Argentina, of them 15 are bigger than Portugal. Spain is much richer than Brazil

  • I'm sorry but the fastest growing economy and the biggest by a very large margin in Ibero-America is Spain, and will continuo to be for many years to came. In Ibero-America there are not countries that can compete with Spain by now and it'll continuo to be like this for many years with its economy, I can assure that. Let's be honest, you know it's like this, even among powerfull european nations Spain is gaining more space among them.

  • In Latin America the economy of Mexico, Cuba, Panama, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Chile, Uruguay y Argentina are in a better situation in contrast to Brazil, because economy is not measure by size, it is measure with the implications of various factors. In that case Russia would be the richest country on the Earth, because Russia it's the largest, but it is not the case. USA has the strongest economy of the world but Luxemburgo is the richest due to its very high income per capita

  • You know something, In Brazil, I know I've been there, Spanish is obligatory because all it's neighbors speaks Spanish. In school you must study Spanish, even now The Congress of Brazil has put Spanish over English in , why? because it's neccesary. As you know many people in Brasil speaks Portunhol, because they have to relationate with spanish speakers. In USA and Canada the language they learn is Spanish, USA has more than 50 millon of Spanish Speakers, and Canada about 3 million.

  • I didn't say that Portuguese language will one day necessarily overcome the Castilian one in the "Iberian-American World" or anything like that(but it can compete worldwide with it's "rival" Iberian language in the long term, you must not forget about the potential economic and cultural relationship between Brazil and the Lusophone African countries..)

  • What I said was that despite the fact that the Lusophone community is for now a poor and illiterate one, it's language still has, to say the least, a future and the economic rise of Brazil will for a fact do wonders for it in the coming decades, and no, i don't believe Brazilians will favour a foreign language over their own, one that is part of their culture and the history of their country.

  • Like I said before, by the time Brazil becomes a economic and, who knows, even a cultural power, Portuguese language will be without a doubt a lot more studied as a second language than it is today, especially by the speakers of related languages such as Castilian and in the Community of Portuguese Language Countries member's neighbour states.

  • Furthermore, I never said that the Castilian language does not have a lot of growth potential in the so called "New World" particularly in the United States of America where English is only the National Language in practice just like the so called "Spanish language" in Mexico(as you know the official language is not mentioned in the U.S. Constitution nor in Mexico's).

  • But despite that and the fact that today Castilian has more native speakers than English, it's not like the second one which is during the present time a dominant global language and has enormous growth potential in Asia, not only in India, where it has official status, but also in China, if not as a native one, at least as a"linguae francae"(Standard Mandarin will eventually grow there too and Hindi in India for that matter).

  • So the language of the biggest empire of all times definitely appear to have the lead for now. Well, only time will tell..

  • What I say is we must unite our countries. In fact, portuguese speakers can be more cultural and lingustically ralated to spanish speaker than any other ethnic group in the world. In fact many people (anglos, nothern europeans, asians, chinese, etc) consider spanish speakers and portuguese speakers as a whole inmense community. In fact I know portuguese, and the look phisically and culturally very similar to us.

  • In Ibero-America, we don't neeed translators and iterpreters to communicate among us. We must we proud to speak very similar languages and be culturally very related among us, because the luso and hispanic cultural can be taken as one ( and in fact many people consider us as a whole culture) In Brazil it took me a week to understand brazilian almost completely. I guess between us we just have to learn about 1.000 words and that may differ and our communication would be excellent.

  • So tell me what do you think?? In fact I like Portugal, in my country Ecuador, in the last World Cup many people wanted Portugal to win the World Cup intead of Italy, France, or Germany (we had no latin-american teams in the semifainals) because in latin America we allways preffer that people from the Ibeian Peninsula among other europeans that's for sure. So what I say is that people here and other spanish speaking countries consider Brazil and Portugal beatiful people and very related to us.

  • hakem niye topu figo'ya versinki ? elinden düşürse hakem topu daha mantıklı olurdu !! . . .
