  • I had such a crush on her when I was a hormonal teenager.

  • i think there is some really good music now-a-days ..but i still miss sleeper, elastica and echobelly ... what do i do now ?

  • she rarely wore a bra,rock n roll

  • Yeah I've got proof of course I was there with a video camera.

  • Oh Louise - how I wish I was 5-6 years older in the mid-90's, cool, talented, rich......but instead of all that I know how to strip down an SA-80 assault rifle so its not all bad........

  • Lovin all the video choices at the top and not a gaga song in sight, aaaah the nineties!!!

  • Lovin the fact that the drummer in this band is now my teacher at BIMM brighton :p woop go Andy maclure :p

  • she fucked over the 60ft dolls at a gig by messing with there equipment. Think she was scared they'd be better than her.

  • @26wordy and i suppose you have proof of that do you? if not shut up and stop being a twat

  • A nice tribute to Hitchcock's Rear Window

  • great track

  • my god

    without his band

i would not have enjoyed unni at al

    an shizzle

  • why weren`t they huge?

  • @waltermitty67

Weren't they in the UK? Not so much in the US but that was MTV's fault

  • i miss this music :(

  • I don't know what kids now think of this music but personally it's great that I can go back and listen to these BritPop songs and they're still brilliant. Shows it wasn't just a load of rubbish at the time, or the folly of youth.

  • Bang bang the mighty fall......

  • I remember this album so well. Great year for British music!

  • What do you do now? Break out your wallet, and buy about 30 games

  • And she can't sing. How didn't we notice how shit this was as the time?

  • I get the feeling this girl thinks she's really attractive.

  • @vaynites hahaha I love trolls they are so funny

  • @FELIXjk007 Seriously, she sings like she has one nostril.

  • @vaynites

    Well, maybe because she is.

  • this band was described to me as "baby elastica" but i groove on Sleeper's records much more than elastica... (admittedly I dont own a single elastica record tho)

  • "Britpop", the last significant thing that happened to the UK charts. I wish I was old enough to appreciate it back then. From my perspective I reached my teens and then music got gradually more shit ever since.

  • @Eggmandu so true. I spent my allowance on UK magazines, import singles, everything. I'm glad this was the soundtrack of my teen years in middle of nowhere America.

  • I met her in la long time ago. Very beautiful person and talented singer!

  • I want this c.d. Please help????

  • I was at Derby uni, they came there early 95 just before they were famous. Unfortunately I missed them, but apparently she was cussing out the stage because it was bouncing. Ed interviewed her for the UNI mag, apparently his leg couldn't stop shaking because she was so attractive.

  • she's still beautiful no matter what....even though she's now a mother of two.

  • saw her at west ham once

  • Britpop was shite; every band sounded the bloody same.

  • @CnutRexAnglorum unlike now then lol

  • I saw Sleeper live at Roundhay park, Leeds in 1995

  • ABBA were better.

  • Mmmmmmmm.......Wener......

  • Damn I miss 90's English indie pop

  • This song was released the week before I started Uni in '95...takes me back to some great times!

  • why did they break up

  • just love the eyes :)

  • she became a novelist !!! I have read some of her books!

  • No comments for a week? Oh Louise my love, how thou art forgotten...! Sweet Christ, she still makes me feel funny in my tummy

  • Top quality blinking on display here. She could work the lashes like no-one else.

And, a truly great song. Beautifully melancholy.

  • Sends my heart and soul straight back to the 90's and hell's bells how I loved the 90's!

  • hearts xx

  • m not British.. but jus LOVE British Rock!!

  • Oh yes! so reminds me of my youth! tho to be honest I go brit pop clubbing as much as poss!

  • @Dbusdriver71 are you aware how completely idiotic this comment is to nerds?

  • @reinpost Your right.

  • wanted to pump her rotten when i was in high school

  • does anyone know how can i get "click off gone" for sleeper, its in this famous commercial about a kid and his grandpa if i recall.not sure of the song name though.

didnt find any videos on youtube

  • @33delta504 It's the final track on The It Girl album, you can get it on iTunes/Amazon, the album is their best by a mile, well worth getting.

  • @DangerousMoz Definitely !!

  • God damn it she was fit back then.

  • @eXPerienceyeah

I saw her in the Guardian recently, she's still a beautiful woman.

  • God I miss this band...saw them at Villa Leisure Centre and Wolves civic and they were just awesome.

Come on Ms Wener....reform the band NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Dear God, that time, that voice, that face, that tune...spiraling into my mid-thirties, I look back on this and remember what a delight it was to be 19 and part of the London Scene between 94 and 97. There will never be anything to compare.

  • @Inkmonkey you been 19 for three years?

  • Yeah I had a major Crush on Louise!!!

  • what happened to british music?, now its so shit.

  • @MegaRapture What are you talking about? Now we have JLS, Joe McElderry and Susan Boyle. (I'll get me coat)

  • she is fit x

  • this song got me through my first breakup

  • Good work stanwick71, this is fact. Seminal...

  • @angsta Thank you and yes this song is and she was and still is the most beautiful woman of the 90s bar none

  • @stanwick71 Toni Halliday was fitter imho

  • Louise Wener was the most beautiful woman of the britpop era bar none!!

  • @stanwick71 I kind of agree, but what about Sonya Aurora Madan from Echobelly?

  • @comedyfish My thoughts exactly....

  • @comedyfish Two words. Justine. Frischmann.

  • @stanwick71 True she did a little something for me but I had more of a thing for Sonya Madan, Echobelly.

  • @mijhtims ... mmmm Sonya! Especially in the Dark Therapy video.

  • @stanwick71 you forgot about Sonia Madden from Echobelly!

  • @DangerousMousePad @stanwick71 and Miki Berenyi from Lush

  • this is the best unrelated "related link" at the side of a woody allen film ive ever clicked on.

  • Louise is not just frikkin beautiful but she has a voice that drives me crazy - one of the real hotties from the UK music scene and talented to boot :]

  • I love Louise - she's hot!

  • Louise is fucking beautiful

  • Fucking hell, the memories. Seems like everyone had a band back then. All you needed was a few mates, a few chords, a regional accent singing, and a decent guitarist with a ZOOM pedal for weird sounds.

  • brit pop at its finest.

  • this woman reminds of susane vaga

  • @dav01kar

Oh please...she is far PRETTIER, far more talented and far less pretentious than Susane Vega! Give me a break!

  • They spoil all their songs with a rubbish chorus.

  • my mate was begging in edinburgh and louise gave him a fiver. could've bin a fifty-scabby bitch!! lol

  • Come on England! It might be a while before I shout that again after this sumer's debacle. James, Lampard, Carra, Terry and Upson have to leave immediately, and Rooney is an over-rated fat pig

  • aaawww the hot teenage tears rolling down my cheeks to this. LOL memories ha ha

  • I used to have her haircut!

  • brave of you to admit to it

  • What happened to women like this? I miss them

  • @slideshowrod Its been a while since you posted but I was thinking the same thing; what happened to women like this. It would seem they all got fake breasts, fake personalities and reality shows on the back of 'accidentally' released sex tapes. The good women (mostly english) have been replaced with women (mostly american) that are no-talent hacks who spend more time without clothes than with, it would seem.

  • @slideshowrod What happened to pop like this..

  • @slideshowrod i love louise from sleeper but I have to say shirley manson is sexy too as a straight crush

  • Heh "Come on England" Not perhaps that suitable....

  • Beautiful :)

  • is it just me or does it sound as if kings of leon have stolen some of this

  • I would

  • shamash??3:08

  • shamash??3:35

  • sux

  • If you had any taste in 1996 you didn't listen to Sleeper.

  • @BrotherKarr oh yeah no one listened to Sleeper but everyone thought she was fit!

  • @valderamma69

    I listened!

  • @BrotherKarr bullshit....fuckin bullshit!!!! they wernt as popular as the big britpop bands but they were popular and better than elastica

  • @TR1PACE5 I like sleeper and Elastica, their sound is different, Elastica is more punk in some elements and sleepers chords are open and breezy. I dont think you can compare them directly. I think Louise is lovely and I like Justine's attitude. (I know noone asked what I thought but still..) its not true that theyre bad taste, they were great in their own right.

  • @TR1PACE5 As I remember (I was 16 in 1996) both bands got alot of airplay and I owned "Elastica" and "It Girl" and loved them both.

  • GREAT TUNE!

  • Not to get into an agruement I haven't a clue about....but Sleeper was the real deal imo. An outstanding 90s band that blended the best of 60s and 80s pop rock (or jangle rock) . Brilliant imo.

  • This is the third song I looked up from the band. I can't believe I've never heard of this amazing band, though I don't live in the UK so that's probably why. Anyways, I think this is my favorite song I heard so far. It's so awesome and beautiful and it gives me nostalgia of my kid years in the 90s. Damn, I miss the 90s so much, the music was so much more better than it is now (Exception of some bands and artists)

    Still, thanks for uploading.

  • Man, i so wanted to fuck her in the 90's.

    90's were ace. lol

  • Is this video supposed to be a take-off of "Rear Window"? Just askin'

  • Put me in a Tardis and transport me back to the mid 90's Great times and no stress!

  • Yup, totally agree with LadyFel001 & tobyisgreat, outstanding era, never to be surpassed. 'Shame that all todays music centres around "look at me" pimple ridden little herberts & whores... shallow. Good grief I sound like me dad! lmfao

  • Great jangle rock!

  • Love this song... There's just something about the whole 90's Britpop scene that defies explanation... I'm forever telling people who don't get what the fuss is all about 'look, sorry, but you had to be there' :)

  • @LadyFel001

totally. I remember seeing echobelly and blur and sleeper on TOTP and thinking "yes, our music has finally made it".

plus, they all sang song about real relationships and real experiences...pubs, bank holidays, tv and rain. refreshing change from grunge which was all about melodramatic emotional trauma and bad poetry.

  • @LadyFel001

'I'm forever telling people who don't get what the fuss is all about 'look, sorry, but you had to be there'

    as with the 90's

    same with the 80's

    same with the 70's

    same with the 60's

    same with the 50's

    ad infinitum dear

  • Yes, I'm sure people will someday be wracked by 2001-2010 auto-tune reality idol faux-R&B Britney nostalgia someday. The 90s had the last gasp of artistry in pop.

  • @facundorox You are so right about that.

  • i was so in love..

  • this bird was mint

  • Was it when i said i wanted to have children?, great tune. the mid 90s where the best for music, and generally for good times. Ben sherman shirts, tfi friday, cast, shed seven, blur, oasis, longpigs, ocean clour scene, suede, bluetones etc etc. those days are gone, but they will forever be a part of me. I have to go now, because ive got a bit of a tear in my eye.

  • excellent song x

  • Not the worst band in the worst. Made a couple of great songs though.

  • Tell me you wouldn't, though?

    And don't lie :)

    Love this tune.

  • She was and no doubt still is gorgeous

  • hell yes

  • Most people dream of being in a rock band; most brits would give anything to have a band during the british 90's. It was a golden decade for British Rock (I hate the term britpop). Focus cudaj2. Sleeper was one of several brillant British Bands during that decade. Louise is a total Goddess.

  • well, she's pretty damn successful outside music too!

  • louise was a real bitch

  • kavacom, you're a tool.

  • Somebody name all the people in this band. One of them, a guy, is giving a lecture in Falmouth (England) next week. Wana see a famous guy in real life, but he wont be an exiting spectacle unless I listen to sleep all week long. Sigh.....The ways in which I live my life.

  • wtf? she's not dead is she?

  • I saw them live in 95. Louise was on stage in just a black bra and black leather mini skirt. My tongue was on the floor for the whole gig!

  • es imposible no admirarla....!

  • mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • louise wener... wow !.. the memories :)

especially luv from 2:50 onwards in this track ..

  • I used to fancy the socks off Louise. Now i remember why

  • Oh yes! Fantastic stuff!!! I LOVE this band. Louise Werner... oh GOD help me! NURSE!!!!!

  • This whole album is great.

  • Wow...Hearing this song just makes me feel nostalgic for no reason.

  • luv it....

  • christ she's as fit as a butcher's dog !! sound's good to, top band of the 90's thanx for posting

  • wow i feel 13 again!!! and being the only person who loved this music,,, love it

  • Actually, she still has a fairly strong following; mainly the University or college crowd. She writes books for children now.

  • Books for children? Don't think so, you should check out 'good night Steve McQueen, deffo adult book and very funny!

  • I stand corrected. Some of her books are for children. Your right Johnnymod45.

  • And some seniors in H.S. like myself.

  • But this Sleeper are British, thus rendering their claim to the name infinitely more valid don't you know.

  • God I miss Britpop :o(

  • Me too, westong1974! I was there in England for both the Happy Mondays and the Stone Roses. I thought then I could die at peace that I had lived to see this and hear this music. Long live British Rock.

  • what a great band, all music is shit nowadays,

  • god bless wener and sleeper. hopefully sleeper will reform. louise is the babe of britpop.

  • had the album! loads of memorys! :)

  • sound of her cordruoy flares!! takes me back :)

  • Does anybody can publish Sleeper´s ¨Sale of the century¨? Is forbidden to watch it from Sud América in the only one place I found it. Thanks

  • thank you had that song on my mind for years and couldnt find it x

  • shes totaly hot just my type

  • I still miss Sleeper.

  • Me too.

  • Me three. Wondered if I'd still fancy Louise all these years on as well but I definitely do.

  • very good takes me right back, teenage crush lol. seriously though if you like this check out inbetweener, and nice guy eddie
