  • Best snare sound ever , I love Mr Steve Ferrone .....

  • He's a great drummer but I think he's a fucking music mercenary. He's playing now with a band called The Straits, a Dire Straits cover band with some members that played with the band in the 80's and 90's. In some places they are being advertised as Dire Straits. I wish all of the luck to him but I hope their tour just bombs!!!!!

  • All you need to hear from Steve is his tasty playing on Clapton's "24 Nights" live album - his grooves are so frickin' deep and he breathes new life into those old Cream tunes - he always plays what is appropriate for THE SONG and always complements the band

  • I want the groovesters to here Steve Jordan on Pick Hits...! Get that syncopation.....I've posted on here I think... Everyone knows the Dennis Chambers version....

  • Steve is one of the baddest that ever sat down. Yall know how he held it down for AWB......a phenomenal hit-hat wizard!

  • Needs a double pedal

  • @generatrix999

I thought it was kickin' pretty hard already!!!

  • @generatrix999 he doesn't need it.

  • @generatrix999 and more gravity blasting.

  • @generatrix999

No double pedal, but certainly more Cowbell

  • @generatrix999 not.

  • he don't need double pedals, go listen to Lamb of God if you want double base ...

  • ...What's to say- I'd like to groove like Mr. FERRONE -one of the baddest groove machines ever! -IT's Steve Ferrone!

  • Steve is a true master of pulse and groove and he proved it playing with people like George Duke, Chaka Khan, and of course AWB. The groove he hit on at 4:37 was from an early Brian Auger joint "Back to the Beginning". Slick dude.

  • One of he greatest drummers EVER!

  • Don't come around here no more at 6:46 to 7:03 ;)

  • I have the same birthday as him ! xD

  • STEVE GAVE ME HIS DRUMS STICKS 3 TIMES AT THE TOM PETTY CONCERT!

  • Where's Steve from?

  • @matttee13 He's from the UK, born in Brighton. I think he said his father was from the Caribbean and mother was European

  • Person to person (3:27 - 4:23)

  • Sorry guys......I like him, he's tight and all, but he ain't got nuthin' on 'Pretty" Purdie!

    Just sayin!

  • steve ferrone 4 ever

  • Deeper than deep groovermaster. One of my favourites!

    Thanks for posting.

  • @PaulDamen

    Agreed!!! On both accounts.

  • So Misled of Duran Duran !!! jajajajaaj

  • POOH is an Italian rock band formed in 1966; by 2009, it had become one of the world's longest lasting bands !

Roby Facchinetti (1946), vocals and keyboards from 1966 (main music writer)

Dodi Battaglia (1951), vocals and guitars from 1968 (sometimes music writer)

STEVE FERRONE (1950), drums from 2010

Red Canzian (1951), vocals and electric bass from 1973 (sometimes music writer), Valerio Negrini (drums 1966 - 1971, main lyricist for the band).

  • I can't believe this drum legend is going to play with my favourite italian band, i Pooh.

    I LOVE THIS MAN!

  • ANOTHER VICIOUS POCKET BY STEVE!!!

  • I always dug that groove from 2:16 to 3:06. It's a variation of the intro he did on the the track "So Misled" from Duran Duran's Notorious album.

  • @myonecent Yes it is!

  • OMG. What a groovemaster ! We love you Steve!

Thanks for posting this. BTW - Steve's album "More Head: with Stone Temple Pilots and Alex Ligertwood is awesome.

  • The suspense is KILLING me....when are you going to post the remainder of the clinic??

    Thanks so much for this...again!!

  • My favorite drummers :

    Steve Ferrone,Jeff Porcaro,Steve Gadd,John Bonham.

  • This man Ferrone is in the top echelon of groove drummers. Check his live album with Brian Auger( approx 1974) and the work he did with Chaka Khan, Stanley Clarke also. His groove is hot.

  • Thanks so much for posting this, MUCH appreciated!!!

Please post the rest of the clinic!>!

  • thx for sharing ,he is one of my idols

  • He's a player for sure. We were lucky to have him.

  • He's the monster. One of the greatest grooves. He never overplayed or overpowered. His embellishments left you shaking your head and wanting more but he knew the value of what he was doing. Great work with the very underrated AWB. Great career. Can't say enough about him. Anybody would have wanted him on their side.

  • Agree with all of what you said x 2!!! Plus he is a very cool, nice humble guy.

  • @GangstaGodBiggy my favorite drummer with AWB

  • when is benny coming? I must be there.

  • Benny Greb November 17 (Tues.) at Rhythm Traders in Portland. I hope you can make it ! (pssst. we're giving 2 free passes to everyone on our email list.
