  • Lol, now play the third

  • Plays it better then I can! Good job :)

  • he has such talent for a 13 year old. :)

  • A little too fast in most parts.

  • Is it me or is this a mix of 1st and 3rd movement? Or and playing is ok for a 13 yo but the recording & piano sucks.

  • Screw u this guy is awesome

  • what a bunch of haters you are. I love this. He's really good. Why are you all so mean spirited? No self-confidence I guess

  • poor kid are the parents holding a gun they cant play the piano the sound of the piano is brutal.

  • I could play that when I was a little girl, younger than him

  • 111 guys suck in piano...

  • Comment removed

  • @Annehog19 Mozart?

  • @Annehog19 its beethoven dumbass

  • my daughter played this tune when she was 13; except she learned the 3rd movement first.

  • man this looks like from the 80s

  • you lack the soul in the piece but then again you are 18? now so you will be much better

  • the moonlight sonata is one of the biggest pieces of art ever wrote

  • I'm 13, and I've played this why are you playing the 3 Ed movement so slow

  • good job kid

  • I'm 13 as well, and i just finished learning it! :) It's a beautiful peace..awesome job!

  • @Hazeromer I have a keyboard as well and I just transpose 2 octaves lower so that I can play the whole of it. Not all keyboards have that function but try and look out for it.

  • This sound is screwing with my mind!! i feel like im deaf in one ear

  • He plays good like me but he still has a few mistakes like playing so fast and not waiting the pauses..(i am 14 years old.)And i have a question to all youtube viewers. How can i play this ALL song on a keyboard?its not big enough :D

    Please answer.

  • @hazeromer Not sure if anyone has responded to your question, but you can get keyboards that have the full length of a piano, I'm 13 and use an ADAGIO keyboard which was around 1000-2000 dollars, i play the full piece on that .But it relly depends on what type of keyboard :L You can't really play the piece if you don't have all the notes require n-n.

  • OMG I ONLY WAY I CAN PLAY THIS SONG IF I HAVE PASSION WITH IT!

  • I'm 14 and learning Moonlight Sonata :) It's an amazing piece :D

  • no emotion

  • good job, Dan) but you have some "mistakes" with speed...)

  • Too much force and speed at the end, it's supposed to be even softer than the beginning.

  • Official song For the Entire Resident Evil Franchise Series!!

  • I encureage EVEry one to learn classicll This is awsome !!

  • better than me :D

  • youre playin it very nice but its not very hard to play it oh dont watch my vids theyre too old and i played too bad x33 but you played it very very nice no really perfect! good job!!

  • Man I'm 18 and i can only play the first 10measures :(

  • it was pretty good a first, but when it go fast the ambulance came ringing lolz

  • all you people who are being rude and bashing him could you play this perfectly at that age??? i know i cant even play piano and for a 13 year old boy this is pretty good

  • Too fast and rushed

This is Shit and should't be up on youtube

Play this song properly then start making videos

  • Good! I wish I could play like this :) I don't understand why some people come here just to boast about something like "so what, I could play this when I was 12".. -.-

  • my right ear hurts! anyway, I played this piece when I was12 years old xD

  • @codmw2haloreachyeah

Several of us could play this at 12. Were you perfect then?

  • candles really? ;)

  • Who in the world disliked this video. He played it well and awesome so stop hating on him. I'm freaking jelous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i like the one on the ipod touch (pianist)

  • If you have headphones in, then you'll agree with me when I say that this sucks! I can only hear out of my left ear. lol

  • @Devvable

    Perhaps that's because your headphones were messed up. :} Just saying. It can be fixed you know. :}

  • @TheUndeadRomeo I tried diff headphones, it's still the same problem. It sounds great without headphones, though, it just makes it seem like I'm deaf out of my right ear; I hate that feeling. o.o

  • @Devvable Unplug the headphones just a bit a it should work :)

  • @smiles012ful Oh wow, it does work. xD

  • @Devvable I know right and your welcome

  • Very good technical performance, but there's very little feeling in the performance. Hopefully he will develop a better feel for the dynamics and voice of the score in due time.

  • Good

  • awesome...!!

  • I always had the talent to be pianist...Im in school of medicine, and listening this..make me cry...remembering my real dream..

  • @David1992Ibarra is not to late, you can convine your medicine studies with music, a hobby, but better

  • omg iam so jealous of those who got 2 start so young. i started at 15, im still 15 but im pretty badasss, but 2 b 13 n play this song when i still cant at my age...im so jealous

  • amazing

  • good job but im 11 and i can play it lol check my page but its only on a 61 key keyboard :(

  • *RESPECT*

  • Look up "Degelau Moonlight" to see a 13 year old playing this far superior- no errors, performance quality piano, incredible expressiveness, no drastic speed changes (how beethoven wanted it). BTW, this kid doesn't know what he's doing starting at 1:45.

  • i wish i could play the piano like him..X(

  • One channel audio. :(

  • Far too many errors, changes speed too drastically, no volume changes. To see a 13 year old playing it far better search "John Degelau Moonlight Sonata".

  • amazing.

  • i was 10 when i playes this

  • @MsRedAllert no proof, it never happened to us

  • bravissimo..............................

  • I am learning how to play that and im only 12 but the weirdest thing is that my name is daniel also

  • daniel. cool .. This year I was 10 years old and I started my piano lessons at age 4 years. I've been representing my music school to the national level. and it worked! I won 1! very proud of myself once upon time "Junior Original Concert" national champion 1!

  • great composer, great player, great song

  • Very nice, for a boy of 13year old boy.

  • nice but fast but nice

  • too much sustain lol, its like in a cave. ._.

  • haha are you guys really critiquing a 13 year old? pathetic...

  • i am 13 i and am like a pro piano

  • i think the guy plays just fine........

  • this song isn't actually that difficult.. I'm 13 and I can play it no problem.. I don't get why some people play songs and most of the time are bragging about their age and how young they are...

  • @ssbn6000 PIECE PIECE PIECE HOW MANY MORE TIMES.

  • @LoftyProduction ? i dont get what you're trying to say....

  • @ssbn6000 I agree. I'm 14 this year and I have no musical background whatsoever except being dropped from piano and violin when I was 3 because I had attitude problems (hyperactivity), whoops. ^^; But I know quite a few friends of the same age who are awesome pianists, and one of them got a diploma in piano at 11. :O I don't think it's about age really, music transcends all that. :D

P.S: I'm seriously interested in picking up piano again in December. Hmm. :3

  • @littlematchgirl96 Really?! Well good luck with that ^^ I'm 15 this year and I just started piano and violin last year. I'm doing my grade 2 piano in Spring and my grade 1 violin in november. Do you think it's a little late?

  • Too much sustain. it sounds like a movie score instead of a love letter (which is kind of what it is). still, impressive for a 13 year old.

Wilhelm Kempff ruined this for me. I can only listen to his version. The others sound like noise in comparison.

  • Overall tempo is mostly fine, but very inconsistent. Try pedalling on every left chord. Listen to some pro performances to get an idea of the dynamics you can try using. This movement isn't necessarily slow people, it's just usually played slow. The main problem is lack of dynamics and pedalling.

  • hey, this is dan from the video. i'm 18 now and will be playing this piece at a talent show tonight. i've stopped classical lessons and mostly play guitar now... but hopefully i'll still be able to play a little better than this. I'll upload the new performance and comment the link within the month.

  • Dude, That was awesome. Slow it down a little and you'll have no problems. You did play a little too fast. But other than that, excellent job.

  • What the heck was this?? LOL That wasn't the moonlight sonata, that was the supernova sonata, I've never heard it being played faster or louder EVER! Relax, boy! ;)

  • dude is it you danny girsh?

  • great but too fast..close your eyes to get the tempo..that's what i do..

  • extremely great you will be big

  • way too fast in my opinion... just relax and only then can the listener relax...just chill out dude your doing great and alot of great things are happening. It is not easy to understand the musicality and emotion behind the notes your playing. beethoven was an emotional man most people can play moonlight sonata flawlessy and still not portray the emotion beethoven was feeling when that moonlight filled the room he was in. its not easy to understand you will though.....one day.

  • too fast??, have you ever seen the music, this is almost twice as s-l-o-w as the piece is meant to be played

  • @ollie3003 it is also really lacks dynamics. if you notice the loudest dynamic written is a "mf " and correction...you started slow but about 8 bars in you began to speed up quite a bit. and yes i have seen the music and i completely learned and memorized it and most of the second and part of the third in less than 1 week. however i still have a long way before it is wher i want it to be and if you want me to post a video of myself i will be glad to.

  • @ollie3003 listen dude the first movement is REALLY slow this is played too fast, i take much more than 5 minutes to play this and i have been playing the piano since i was 6....(im 19 years old now)...the first movement is adagio sostenuto....so dont say that this is played twice as slow..

  • I'd love to see him play the 3rd movement! :P

    Well done! :-)

  • Very Well Done

  • Awesome!

  • I Wish I Could Play That Song ,, Great Work Daniel!

  • I am also 13 and learning the Moonlight Sonata ^_~ Good work Dan!!

  • @IsyanDreamer me too lol

  • @IsyanDreamer same here!

  • Omg he's so good

  • Very Nice! My six year old is practicing this at the moment. May I ask, how long did it take Daniel to achieve this level of play?

  • cometamales just shut up you troll!

stop talking crap and proove that you can do it better! i bet you can't play at all you moron.

oh and btw: you're a 26 year old "man" (even though you act like a pussy!) acting like a 5 yrs old!

@ dan: don't even listen to that useless piece of sh*t and keep playing ;)

  • @oOOnimaOOo cometamales is successfully trolling you then if you're ragin...

  • @oOOnimaOOo. And dont listen to oOOnimaOOo's launguage either

  • 2:27 messed up again badly

  • Guys fucking morrons.. he didnt put this video out to compare with you.... hes a skilled boy! just comment somthing good, not that u can play better

  • the funny thing is that Dan sucks so much now

  • This boy has an amazing talent... and you youngsters that think your better because your younger...

Beauty, and talent is the ability to do something well and not put people down that cannot...

You have no talent, you just hit keys on a piano.

But this boy, in the video, has a talent.

  • Have a death in the family?

  • @ hala[eno222, you do have a point, it isn't the hardest song to play, I can play it, i'm 13 too, but the hard thing about this song is to play it beautifully, like wilhelm kempff... this boy plays it good, but plays it too loudly... although I can't do this much better it can be played by more people who are the same age as him... (but not even 0.001% of al the people his age can play this song like this, so that is a very big compliment.

  • OMG! TALENT! TALENT! *applause*

TOP

  • It's good no doubt for a 13 year old, tho one good thing about his age is that he has a lot of improvement still in him. You'd think in a year or two it wouldn't sound like the same person playing it. KEEP IT UP!

  • i think he is noob.

there are many children yanger then ITS child but they plays in 1000 times Better! this children have to traine much))

and he has too many BAGS! =(

  • Lets see your own effort before you start slagging other people. What an arse you are.

  • yea, i think it's too fast, too. But maybe that's how he felt it. It's an awesome composition nonetheless.

  • To fast (really to fast) should be 7mn you did it in 5. take your time :à)

    but well done except that

  • You can here mine .I am a rookie trying to learn piano. click on my name to here me. thanks

  • What a great talent

  • Is this the 1st movement?

  • yes it is

  • VEry good,but he have 13 year??

  • What RCM piano repoiratore book is this from?

  • might just be the recording quality but it just sounds like you putting a little bit too much emphesis on the right hand.... and well as before your speeding up, try a few rounds with a metranome and u'll do fine, keep it up kid.

  • i so wanna learn this !!!

  • wow, good effort.

the speed changed a lot, got very fast.

hardly any emottttion, not sure if that's age, i play this personally much slower..

could use more emotion but otherwise gooood!

  • :P hi daNIEL im 14 and i play it too! ^^ then go to my caNAL and see it =)

  • learned this @ 11 years old. He plays this better than i do though, because I haven't played it in a little over 3 years.

  • this is very dull, boring I might say. He plays it like a robot maybe its cause of his age I dunno,

He needs to slow down too and keep this slow and connected,

  • "my17time"

Dude...? He's 13, and I think he did a great job.

  • w0w... Power to the young... I'm thirteen, and I am self taught. I have had this song memorized for about a month, and we both practically play it the same, except he plays slightly too fast for my taste. But this is his video, so he doesn't have to please me ^-^

Wonderful playing kid. Few mistakes, but not to worry; he will definitely be playing in the future! 6/5!

  • Agreed, he is a good piano play dont get me rong fair play to the kid! But he a bit.... 2 young to have the emotion to a song like this

  • its good but there is absolutly no emotion to it!!! i was board watching this

  • this was beautifully played because he has every note right and the timing is correct, well done.

  • this is beautifully played! This has encouraged me that someone younger than me can play this tough song!

  • All these videos of the 1st movement are fantastic...But for my taste they all feel too fast haha.

  • 5 stars for Daniel!!! This is on my list of songs to learn! Your my inspiration!!

  • I love this song so much and i'm playing this song for my school talent show and im 14!! Great job i feel the young piano players because i play too : ]

  • are you kidding me he screwed up th end it wasn't 4 beats per measure at the end

    good try though

  • That's awesome, wish my parents got me piano lessons 2. =(

  • Absloutly Beautiful song and beautiful playing.

  • Moonlight Sonata is a hard one for the young ones with little hands, lol.

  • i think it's really good!

well the mechanical part that you're talking about is just because markg9's probably just learned it recently. he's good he needs to just relax.

and either the piano's very badly out of tune or the audio to the camera SUCKS. but that's not markg9's fault. keep on playing! it's great

  • mechanical.

  • completely agree.

  • First of all , please get ready for the song and after that, add your video to here. Thats why i'm being carefull with videos. Its so nice playing and of course Daniel will improve to himself. When i was 13, i left from playing piano. Now i started to play it again with Moonlight Sonata. What a beauty song. Dark and emotional. Perfect.

Congrationals Daniel. Play slow and feel the song okey ? bye. 5 star for you..

  • That's awesome, wish my parents got me piano lessons. =(

  • Don't feel too badly vspec2wrx, my parents did get me lessons. I can't play anywhere as well as Daniel does after 10 years of lessons.

  • That's a nice compliment! Although you are wrong, deaf and blind.

Just read all the post that say he is too fast or too slow, etc...

  • Daniel will learn more as he plays and studies. He is impressive none the less.

  • @Ipoonthosenoobs Shut your trap you mongrol! It's not the original, considering the the original is played with a more convential sounding piano, this version sounds more tinny, like an old saloon piano. Plus, the original wouldn't have the mistake at around 2:30. So stop trying to steal the kids thunder. He's way more talented then you're ever going to be.

  • @Ipoonthosenoobs Sure, if there's a original version that beethoven played (which I'm sure there isn't any)

  • @Ipoonthosenoobs lil kids like me can play piano too!!!!!!!

  • this kid needs to get on that new g unit remix

shit will be hot in da streetz

  • :P i played this at 9. but this is wayyy better than when i did it :P

  • wow! he must've started the same age as me! I play EXACTLY like that! I can also play that piece! and i'm 12 years old---turning 13 :D

  • 0:46 cant reach a 9 hahaha still too young hands too small

good performance, watch for tempo + play with more emotion. proably cuz he havnt been thru anythin too sad yet. but its ok. he has potential. i like how he looks enjoyed as oppose to sum 7-yr old chinese who plays fur elise or harder songs (cuz its grd 4 song in china). I played piano alot later then them and i enjoyed it more then them i enjoy playin while sum of my frds hate playin, and they hav missed the pt of music.

  • I am against on some things you say but the going through something bad part I can agree on and I just love this piece. They say it tells the story of something you went through. This tells the story of how I was (and still am) raised without a mother. It also tells me how it is without your mother's love and how har it can be to live without that love. Especially being a young lady myself. Amazingly meloncholy song. I have always loved this pice....

  • hell no are you on drugs this is straight up BEETHOVEN

  • even to be a funny person is necessary some level of inteligence.

  • Sounds amazing no matter what the tempo. Fantastic job Daniel!!

  • I think the tempo is okay, in my opinion. Maybe he's playing it faster because to him, it sounds nicer... Who knows? Everyone has their own style of playing.. Some like it fast and some like it slow. Anyways, it was enjoyable. Keep it up, kid. Play it with your own style.. You're not Beethoven. Nice.

  • love that comment.

  • I agree 100%, with me, I add some Metallica, yes, Metallica riffs in it, it tends to sound really amazing. :D
