There is no oil well burning in Iraq now. However, a lot of oil is unaccounted for. One reason for this I already mentioned, the other is the pipeline to no-where, or specifically to some-where where the USA wants it to go, probably to friendly-quiet Kuwait.

I disagree with your plea to abandon the war, but I respect the heart felt feelings behind it. This war should have been handled as constitutionally prescribed and not born of the misplaced desire to validate the potency of the UN resolutions.
I would support a mandate that a motion for continuation, as per the constitution, be put before congress. IF that did not pass, then we should bring the troops home. While I feel the war is the right thing, we have not followed the constitution. This makes the war an unconstitutional excerise.

I sympatize with the mothers loss of her son. However, I do not agree with cutting the funding of the troops. This would be like eliminated the city police force budget because someone died in the line of duty.

What Murtha said is that the surge has succeeded in reducing violence within the environs of Baghdad itself, but also displaced it into the surrounding provinces without actually reducing it. Iraqi oil production now is roughly HALF of what it was under Saddam, and the most recent estimates are that about $6 billion worth of oil is smuggled out of Iraq each year with the connivance of corrupt Iraqi government officials. Only recently 2 US companies got the pipeline contract.
And yes, future oil to India, China and Japan starting from the Indian Ocean is cheaper (for billion, trillion of dollars)than from the Mediterrenean.

There is no oil well burning in Iraq now. However, a lot of oil is unaccounted for. One reason for this I already mentioned, the other is the pipeline to no-where, or specifically to some-where where the USA wants it to go, probably to friendly-quiet Kuwait.
The gas prices are skyhigh because we are for some time already in the peak-oil period with not much oil output to increase in Saudi Arabia; the rest doesnot count. And the USA is stockpiling for the coming winter months.

I would support a mandate that a motion for continuation, as per the constitution, be put before congress. IF that did not pass, then we should bring the troops home. While I feel the war is the right thing, we have not followed the constitution. This makes the war an unconstitutional excerise.

I'm sorry for your loss, but Saddam Hussein violated the gulf war ceasefire agreement 13 times! On the first time we could have gone in there and taken him out of power. We should be in there and have every right to be in there.

I hate to say it, but I think everything that is happening in Iraq right now is following a carefully scripted plan. The plans aim seems to be achieving its goals of continued provocation of the Arab world to rise up against the West in a war they cant win and the clever way the Middle East has been kept in turmoil for the last 50 years or so the cycle of violence ensures repeating. You guys voted them in....

Of course not! Saddam did not tolerate dissent and chaos in his country. He was a devil but he was OUR devil. That's why removing him opened up a Pandora's box of never-ending war and death.

Inspiring video I am only grateful that my son wasn't killed or injured, other than coming back with PTSD....as they all are. We have created an Army of murderers, whose consciences will hurt them the rest of their lives OR who will deaden the pain with alcohol and drugs. We are killing our own children twice over: they'll just take longer to die than the ones we allowed to be exploded.

Yes, they are the same services. Except this time, there is no deliberate attempt to cherry pick or cook the intelligence; nor is there an office of "special plans" coordinating the effort to "sell" the war; nor are there any forged or uncredible documents offered up by an administration willing to outsource its intelligence verification responsibilities to Italy and Britain.
So your question merely makes you look like the silly, uninformed moral leper you are.
