the make up and hair is just a ritual, to freeze time, to get ready to perform. I saw her in Tusk video, whirling a baton, no make up, hair down, and she was so beautiful. Children of Lir is an Irish myth, of children transformed into swans by a stepmother jealous of their fathers attentions... anyway, I was so pleased to see that in her bag! I grew up with these legends. Irish poetry. Funny she's so grounded.

As a matter of fact, I bought a bracelet almost identical to it with my very first paycheck that I ever earned. I was pink mussel shell and sterling, which was totally "in" back then. :) But you're so right...Stevie's sense of style is totally....well....Stevie. =D

I know that Stevoe got the name of the song Rhiannon from the book Triad (by Mary Leader). She said she liked the name. I read this book, and realized that this book also deals with welsh mythology as well. The girls name was Branwen and her cousin was named Rhiannon.
